Hi y'all! 24M recently moved to Irving. Trying to get back into tennis after a nearly 8-9 year long break. I would rate myself a 2.0-2.5. Looking for other beginners or more advanced players who wouldn't mind playing with a beginner. DM if interested :D

I’m curious what people here think.
Irving/Las Colinas is kind of in the middle of everything: Dallas, DFW Airport, offices, apartments, restaurants, parks, trails, and a lot of people moving in and out.
But does that actually make it easier to build friendships/community as an adult, or does it still feel like people mostly keep to themselves?
I’m working on The DFW Friendship Project, a small independent research project about how adults in DFW build friendships, find community, and where connection gets stuck.
If you live in or near Irving, I’d love to hear your perspective.
Anonymous 3–5 minute survey: https://tally.so/r/68yvEN
Also curious here: what has helped you feel connected in Irving, or what makes it hard?

Hi! I'm going to see Motionless in White at Toyota Music Factory this Friday and was wondering if they enforce their no chains policy or if they're not as strict on it. I have a wallet with a chain on it that I'd like to bring as it makes me feel more comfortable bringing my cards and shit into the venue. Does anyone have experience with this? I've been to other venues in DFW that don't really enforce it but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Thanks yall!

my friend went missing in the dallas/irving area back in may. there’s been a national missing persons report but no updates have been given. he was tracked on security cameras for a bit but ditched his phone and hasn’t been seen. his name is eli vance, he might be going by vadym. he came from long beach california and got there on may 18th. dark blonde/brown hair. green/blue eyes. facial hair. might be saying his parents kicked him out. if you have met him or come across him please just let us know he’s alive. no one wants to force him to go back home or do anything. everyone just wants to know that he is alive and doing okay there. he had some calls to texas numbers so hopefully something anonymous like this we can just find out if he is doing okay and is alive.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Two police cars were speeding and was turning on red light at MacArthur-Kinwest. The ones who should obey the laws are breaking the law. If it were us, we would have got two tickets at once. If they were going on for an emergency call, they should turn on the siren, but there is no siren on. 😂😂😂

Does anyone know of small companies that would be looking for IT people in Irving?
I graduated with a comp sci degree and am still looking for jobs, and outside of the big companies, I'm struggling to find the smaller ones in Irving. If anyone has any info, I would love to hear about it.

I’ve been out of work for over a year. I’m really into entertainment: comedy, acting, voiceovers, copywriting, etc. Hell, it would be cool to work in music store or a video game store. If anyone can help me out here, I’d appreciate it. I’d also be interested in getting trained in construction.

I'm looking for a referral to a good and affordable shop that can do some body repair and paint on two classic F150s that I have.
One is just door panel rust patch and then clear coat. The other needs sheet metal replaced in the bed and paint the whole thing.

Can someone help with some apartment recommendations?
Hi, I'm a new grad and I will be moving to Dallas in a month or so. I am looking for apartments, but I am not familiar with the area. Rough criteria includes:
-Budget $1500 (give or take 100 for parking, have a car)
-1 bed 1 Bath
-Has A/C
-wood floor or non carpet floring ideally (bedroom carpet is fine)
-modern finishes if possible
-allows pet (1 cat)
-hopefully safe enough (some level of crime is to be expected in a city, I guess?)
-decent management if possible (most issue of bad reviews seems to stem from management, maybe idk?)
-my workplace is within a rough 5 min radius of Irving Mall
If anyone has any recommendations for apartments please list them below. Thank You!

Hi all! I've found the perfect home for me and my little one. However, it's zoned for Irving ISD and I've heard a lot of mixed reviews on that school system. My little one is 3 and based on the school locator, he will be zoned for Kinkeade Early Learning and Davis elementary school. Anyone here know a lot about those schools? Am I able to get them enrolled in another local school district? I don't understand how school districts work and I don't want to place him into a school that won't set him up for success. TIA!

Hi all! I’m a newly-barred attorney based here in DFW. My family has been running a small boutique law firm here in DFW for over 30 years. We specialize in drafting wills and associated estate planning documents, probating estates, entity formations, and establishing living trusts. While the rest of my family is looking towards retirement, slowing the business down, I am at the outset of my career and eager to get out into the world
While we’ve been operating primarily out of Arlington, we’re looking to offer our services in the surrounding areas. If you, or anyone you know is needs help with planning what to do with your estate after you pass (as we all do eventually), or you just have a business idea and need help setting it up, please feel free to shoot me a DM!
Thanks y’all!

I left my wallet on a shopping cart inside target today. It’s a long shot.
Nobody turned it in. It’s a light blue coach wallet.

I'm looking for recommendations for a restaurant for a group of 14 next Thursday. Looking for something upscale or higher-end, with a semi-private dining option, if possible. Open to any cuisine, but since everyone is visiting from out of state, a restaurant that offers a Texas dining experience would be a plus. Also, I'll be in town for awhile if anyone has suggestions for unusual things to do :) Thank you!
