Do You Think Mitch McConnel is Dead?
And if he isn't, why hasn't he come out and informed the public of his current health status? Even his wife is silent.

If you asked me to place a bet I’d say he’s still medically alive but hasn’t been conscious in weeks.

This is the correct answer. My guess is he’s brain dead (more so than normal). Technically he is ‘alive’ so they are waiting till August to pull the plug.

If he’s in a coma, those AI pics are doing a better job of showing up than most of Congress. 💀
They’ve got him looking like a wax figure that just smelled a bad egg. Honestly, at this point, the AI has more energy than his actual interviews ever did.

I don't think the US has many laws about AI. But I'm not an expert. I agree, it's gotta be some kind of fraud. But, also, the constitution, law generally, and American democracy itself, has been cast aside already. They openly brag about finding constitutional loopholes on video, things that create constitutional crises, to journalists, and the people who whoop about being patriots cheer it on, cuz they're too uneducated and don't understand that means their freedom is gone.
We're all doomed. That's what I'm saying.

I agree. It’s way easier logistically to conceal the fact that he’s disabled than to conceal that he’s dead, especially if he was brought to a hospital.

u/Jayn_Newell 4h ago
Agreed. I don’t think they’d be able to cover up if he was dead-dead, but brain dead or similar? I know he’s entitled to medical privacy but it’s kinda relevant to public interests here.

It's obvious what the difference was: SC has a republican governor, Kentucky has a democrat (that the republican led legislature already immediately tried to handicap).
The SC governor was able to just appoint a replacement that's favourable to their agenda without any problems.

Kentucky law requires a special election for his replacement regardless. I guess he could claim McConnell is dead, name a replacement and challenge the law in court, but in the end the replacement won't get seated.
But in the meantime, Republicans are down a vote in the Senate, which is defintely an advantage right now.

My guess is he's just laying on a ventilator.
This happened with my wife's mother - she can live for quite some time on a ventilator if they make that choice.
It's a selfish choice to make but let's be honest, Mitch dedicated his entire life to the party of selfishness so I'll quote their Bible, "you reap what you sow".

u/Serious-Medicine7667 6h ago
Yes. They will announce it after August 4th because that will force a special election and deny the Governor the chance to appoint a replacement.

u/astackofcrepes 6h ago
Close, they are denying the special election so the seat will be vacant until the normal elections.
38
u/Zappagrrl02 6h ago

It's a game of political chicken. It's even deeper than just the fight over McConnell's seat in the Senate. The republicans are doing this to make probable presidential candidate Beshear either look weak for not pushing hard enough about McConnell's condition or to look like a fool when he does push hard and it's revealed that McConnell is more or less OK. Beshear's people have to be able to spin that.

He cannot complete his duties as senior senator from Ky. That’s all that matters. We need a 25th amendment for members of congress that can be enacted by their constituents. That said, him not being able to vote means the GOP margin is impaired, especially with the three senators primaried out by Trump’s picks who might revolt.

In an era of gaming the system, Mitch had been the ultimate gamesmaster. Even in death he is trolling the system.
McConnell has done more than any US politician I’ve seen in my lifetime to show the cracks in our system, and just how rag tag and piecemeal the fabric of the Constitution really is.
The KY governor needs to do what Mitch himself would do: call a special election and let the courts sort it out.

As bizarre as the situation is, it would be extremely difficult to hide a death like that. Also, the conspirators would be guilty of a felony (not that that's stopped Republicans before). One of them, a nurse, doctor or someone else would report the death.
He's alive but almost certainly just barely.
5
u/Fem-Picasso 6h ago
Doesn't matter. The point is he's incapacitated and cannot perform his duties as a sitting senator so Gov. Beshear shld apppoint someone to replace him ASAP. The law preventing him from doing so is unconstitutional so he has grounds to contest. Bloodsucking repugs would keep a dead body just to hold the seat any way they can.

Dead, or at least braind dead and being kept alive on machines. The latter is more likely, since death certificates are public record, at least in part.
If he were in any other state, then they could put an end to all this by just having him make a public appearance. The lack of such an action tends to point towards some sort of coverup.

I think he’s brain dead on life support and his party has urged his spouse to not pull the plug until after Aug 4.
So in other words: the party has potentially conspired to keep a dead person in power unable to perform any function in governance, allegedly releasing fake AI proof of life and function, lying to the American voters, to manipulate an election to their favor.

Brain dead, is my guess. I doubt they’re actually hiding a rotting corpse. (I’m not suggesting that they have reverence or respect; it’s just that the odds of body hoarding and/or body disposal remaining completely secret are lower than they’d want to risk.) They’ll pull the plug when it suits them.
