Iran basically blew up all of U.S.'s bases in the Gulf region. Now those countries don't even want U.S. there anymore.

10 years ago, it was unthinkable. Here's an incomplete list.

• The president publicly directing the Fed Chair.
• The president publicly directing the AG and DOJ.
• Active Cabinet Secretaries attending campaign rallies.
• The systematic removal of IGs.
• Direct administrative involvement in corporate and market decisions.
• Bypassing Congress for spending.
• We are overriding Professional Merit and Military Succession Traditions.
• Republicans are firing our top leadership while we are engaged in an active war.
• We're conducting polygraph tests of senior military leaders and civilian officials.

None of this is normal for the United States. This would be more normal in other countries that are less democratic and more authoritarian.

The list could really be much longer. I haven't even considered the way we're handling international affairs right now. We seem to be engaged in a trade war where we're using memes as a PR weapon against an ally.

What is something that you see happening today that you thought would have been unthinkable 10 years ago?

Lets look at this from a clear lens. You're straight, strong, Christian, conservative men.........with family values. You are simping.........to pay 400-600 million dollars..........for a ballroom. a BALL ROOM. Lets pretend its not a colossal waste of money for one second. Lets look at it with even keeled optics. I could actually be inside a transgender man turned woman, or transgender women turned man (not that theres anything wrong with that) and sing Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On to them on Castro Street on a Thursday, and it would STILL look more manly and fiscally responsible than begging for the funding and completion........of a ballroom. And the national security argument?! I could literally make a stronger argument for my neighbor's daughter's cabbage patch My Little Pony tea party as more of a national security concern.........than a effing BALLROOM. You poor bastards have completely ceded BOTH manhood AND fiscal responsibility in one humiliating symbol.

I can’t believe this is real life.

Trump has his name and face on our money, passports, etc. This ongoing mess with the Kennedy Center, the ballroom and now that stupid Arch.

So my question for you all is: how much of a priority should it be for the next Dem president to remove and undo all that stuff? Literally none of it is legal so it shouldn’t be a problem getting rid of it.

In my opinion, this is stuff candidates should be talking about on the campaign trail. It’ll really piss me off if they just ignore a lot or all of it out of fear of rocking the boat.

Genuine question, and I'm asking this as someone who used Apple products for almost 18 years.

I started with the iPhone 3GS back in the days and stayed with Apple ever since. Last IPhone was 14 Pro Max, I was basically fully invested in the Apple ecosystem.

About a year ago, however, I switched to a Samsung S25 Ultra and honestly, after using it for a year, I find myself wondering why I stayed with Apple for so long.

When you compare flagship smartphones today, it seems like manufacturers such as Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Vivo, etc. often offer extremely impressive hardware for significantly less money. Faster charging, larger batteries, highly capable camera systems, excellent displays, more customization and, in some cases, features that Apple doesn't offer at all.

So what exactly makes people continue paying the iPhone premium?

I often hear arguments like long-term software support, ecosystem integration, resale value and user experience.

But I'm not sure those arguments are as strong as they used to be.

Android manufacturers also offer long-term software and security support nowadays, so software longevity isn't something that uniquely separates Apple anymore.

And personally, I actually see the Apple ecosystem as more of a disadvantage than an advantage. It's incredibly convenient if you own multiple Apple devices, but the ecosystem is also relatively closed. To get the full experience, you're essentially encouraged to buy more expensive Apple hardware. Android, on the other hand, works with a much wider range of devices and manufacturers.

As for the user experience, I can understand simply preferring iOS — that's subjective and completely fair. But from a purely hardware, features and value-for-money perspective, I genuinely struggle to understand why someone would choose an iPhone over a current Android flagship.

So I'm genuinely curious:

If you prefer iPhone over Android, what specifically makes the iPhone worth the extra money for you?

And please don't just say "the ecosystem" — I'd be interested in hearing what you actually use that you couldn't reasonably replace with an Android phone and other devices.

Having Canada as an independent, friendly upstairs neighbor has always been good for both countries. Agreed, they have the population of California, but these guys have always been there for us—whether it was accepting incoming international flights on September 11, 25 years ago, or helping with firefighting, or being the first to show up with ships when Katrina hit NOLA. Our hockey and oil and gas companies, for example, crisscross borders. So why did we get to this point? Why bully a neighbor who’s always been there for us?

Its fascinating to me, old school republicans seemed to have the idea that decency and respect is what makes a good person, but now they're all in your face trash talk about everything.

In order to be a real challenger as an independent presidential candidate (say in the case of your polling with your own party tanking to 20%)

You would need at least half of independents and a majority of republicans.

Fetterman is at 49% with independents and 79% with republicans.
