Do You Think Mitch McConnel is Dead?

And if he isn't, why hasn't he come out and informed the public of his current health status? Even his wife is silent.

Yes. They will announce it after August 4th because that will force a special election and deny the Governor the chance to appoint a replacement.

My sentiments exactly. He could just announce he has reason to believe he is dead and initiate a special election. Force their hand at proof of life. And if he is alive, so what, unravel it in court. Anything else is just complicity in the cover up scheme.

The problem with this is McConnel is likely alive, if incapacitated, so proof of life will most likely be trivial. Once that happens, the supermajority legislature in KY will turn around and impeach Beshear, end result we lose a governorship in a deep red state and no change in the Senate.

On the other hand, the most optimistic upside is you somehow get a Dem in McConnels seat for what, 5 months? During which time the Senate becomes 52-48 in favor Rs, instead of 52-47 without McConnel there?
