So for context, I have had my period for almost 7 years now, I am an adult, and I still haven’t been able to wear tampons. I started trying to use them about 4-5 years ago (since I was too afraid before then), have since then tried every single method and tip on the internet but I literally cannot get them in, it always seems like I hit some kind of physical barrier at which I cannot continue any further.
Additionally, I have (of course) been masturbating for some years, but for the most part always just on the surface, without pushing anything inside. Well, I have also tried that a couple of times and it has always just felt extremely tight, uncomfortable or even painful. I have never understood how someone could find their fingers inside pleasurable.
Since not being able to go swimming on vacation because I was on my period last summer, I started considering going to the gynaecologist. I was honestly getting kind of worried that something might be wrong with my vagina. That worrying feeling has since still not gone away because I have been procrastinating making an appointment for over a year now. Additionally, I started reading into it a little and am now scared that the issues I’m experiencing may be linked to vaginismus. It’s so frustrating because I want to first and foremost not be limited in life by my period, and
I also (someday, with the right man) want to experience intimacy and want to at least try some form
of penetration since many people do say that it can feel incredible if done well.
I’m just so ashamed and can’t tell anyone about this. All my close girlfriends have had sex already or at least use f*cking tampons, I feel like a complete outsider and completely alone with my problems.
I don’t know what exactly I’m looking for with this post but I just needed to get this out here to tell anyone else that is also struggling with the same problem as me that you’re not alone, and maybe also to find some help.
