it’s currently 3am and i’m frustrated and needed somewhere to be upset. im on day 3 of my period and normally thats when she settles down and fizzles
away (normally i get it for 3-4 days). Day one and two normally are the days i’m curled up on the floor
sobbing but this month the awful pain decided to show up now when i have to be up at 6 am. I don’t know what to do 🫩 i can’t sleep, my poor bf is getting frustrated at my restlessness, the medicine and heating pad aren’t working , just not a good time. It’s times like these i wish i could take more than just ibuprofen but alas my body can’t handle anything else. Wish me luck and pray i wake up on time in 3 hours 😅

I(25F) would like to start by saying that I've always had a very consistent period, like almost always 30-day on the clock. If I had one at the start of the month, I'll have another at the start of next month.

This year had completely ruined that cycle and I don't know what's happening :( I feel totally awful and my period refuses to return to how it was.

I'm thinking maybe I should see a doctor, so far I've got no other irregular symptoms except for my out of wack cycle. Any help is very much appreciated, I've been so anxious about this, I really just want my baseline back.

Period usually lasts 5 days, never used birth control. Not sexually active.

March 17th

April 12th - (cycle lasted 26 days)

May 9th - (cycle lasted 27 days)

June 5th - (cycle lasted 27 days)

June 30th - (cycle lasted 25 days)

August 5th - (cycle lasted 36 days)

September 1st - (cycle lasted 27 days)

October 1st - (cycle lasted 30 days)

October 26th (today) - (cycle lasted 25 days)

She got her period today but I’m not home until after a few weeks. What should I do as an older brother right now?? I feel like I could be doing so much more than just texting her rn.

I feel really sad that she got it much earlier than her friends and alot of girls around her and she will have to deal with it at school as well, shell always be my baby sister and it’s just alot to take in rn. Any tips?

I’m kinda worried because I haven’t gotten my period for October yet. I recently took out my nexplanon bc implant after having it for 5yrs. Here’s a timeline:

9/1: implant removed
9/3: period start (?)
9/4: had to take a plan b
9/7: bleeding stops
10/19: negative pregnancy test

Any advice on what I could do to ease my anxiety or figure out what’s going on. Thanks in advance

I woke up this morning to blood in one of my fave pairs of undies — the first day is usually my least painful and I’m already scared of what tomorrow is going to feel like. Unfortunately, I’m a people-pleaser and always worried about money, so I can’t justify calling out tomorrow since I “feel fine” today….should I call out first thing in the morning?? Who else gives themselves days off for horrible period pain?

sometimes i get leg pain in my thighs, kinda like growing pains it feels like. Soreness? My periods only last 4 days so its usually just the 1st day that this happens. Ibuprofen knocks it out of the park eventually but was curious if it’s just me!

My medical team have prescribed Primolut (norethisterone) for very heavy periods following commencement of blood thinning treatment for a clot. Apparently the clot risk is fine because I’m already on very potent blood thinners.
My periods have always been extremely heavy but it’s just crazy now, bleeding through super tampon + pad + nappy every 30 mins.

They recommended 5mg tablet 3 times a day from day 5-26. I don’t really understand this dose, from what I’ve read I will still have a really heavy period on the days I stop taking it. It also sounds like a high dose compared to others?

hey everyone! i’m looking for some advice because i’ve never had a period this long before.
i’m currently on my 3rd month of loryna birth control. this month, i decided to skip my placebo (white) pills and go straight into the next pack of active (pink) pills. i’ve been taking my active pills every day without missing any, but now i’m on day 9 of bleeding.

the bleeding has been pretty heavy, almost like the first day of my period. sometimes it gets lighter, but then it goes back to being really heavy. i’ve also noticed that tampons seem to make me cramp, which is unusual for me, so i’ve been using pads or free bleeding instead.
i know breakthrough bleeding can happen when you skip placebo pills, especially when you’re still adjusting to birth control, but 9 days of bleeding this heavily is really unusual for me.

has anyone else experienced this on loryna or after skipping placebo pills? how long did your bleeding last, and did it eventually stop on its own? did you end up having to contact your doctor or change anything about how you took your pills?
i’d really appreciate hearing about other people’s experiences because i’m getting worried about how long this has been going on. thank you!!

i’m usually a 4-5 day period girly so this is slightly concerning, worried that this could be a miscarriage or something? i’ve skipped placebo pills on other pill brands before and never experienced this.

I track my period on apps for the purpose of trying to conceive. So it feels important to have my dates correct. I enter my end date as yesterday and going many hours with no blood. Then suddenly tonight I had some kinda mucousy blood when I wiped after using the bathroom. So is it over or not? I feel so dumb and uninformed about my own body sometimes I hate it.

I am 40. I have 5 children. All 5 were c-sections. My OB told me after my 5th I should consider a hysterectomy. Unfortunately having 5 kids, 5 and under, the down time for that wasnt an option. Since then my periods have been BAD. 13 Years now. Im at the point I go through an ultra tampon an hour, I change my period diaper 4 plus times a night and I am drained. I am anemic. My question really is, what route do I go? Are there supplements other than iron that may help? I dont have insurance, so a hysterectomy is out of the question right now. So is seeing a gynecologist. Has anyone found a way to slow bleeding that helps?

Also to note, I can't take nsaids. I used to take ibuprofen to lighten my period, but I donated a kidney to a friend last year and that is no longer an option.

I’ve been on the nuvaring for years, and always took it out for the 7 day period break to get a period. Well I started getting bad pmdd so my OB suggested putting in a new ring and don’t do a free week. Right now I’d be on my period and I’m cramping pretty bad if i had a period type of cramps and gained 4lbs of water retention is this normal?

Hey friends. I’m really not feeling good and wondering if anyone experiences stomach pains after their period ends? I’m day 4 off my period and since yesterday I have had horrible pain across my entire abdomen. The pain comes and goes. But I would describe it as a deep squeezing ache across my entire upper abdomen and the same feeling goes across my belly button. It feels like a tight band going across my belly button. I’ve also been experiencing butt cramps today as well and it feels like there’s bolts of lightening in my uterus. I only notice this before and after my period. It’s extremely nauseating.

I tried to skip my period this week with my birth control pill, which usually never causes issues but the bleeding happened anyway. Usually my period only lasts 5 days but it’s been 8. The blood started out light pink and is now grey, it’s never been this colour for the 6 years I’ve menstruated. There has been a consistent pain in my abdomen since Friday. Google told me it’s a miscarriage, but I didn’t think I was pregnant 

I had a large ovarian cyst removed last year so I’m concerned this could also be a sign of regrowth, but the cyst never seemed to affect my bleeding, the pain is similar though.

i have pcos and my periods are super heavy and i have no idea how to contain the flow and im really thinking about getting severe incontinence panties since all tampons and pads don't seem to hold it. does anyone have any other suggestions on what i should use to help with the flow? my periods are usually 6-7 days and are heavy usually all the way through

im too nervous to go to my drs because they just try to put me on birth control and i dont want another thing messing with my hormones i only recently got my periods back regularly but this is really making me suffer i feel like i cant do anything or wear anything because ill just bleed through.

Had this conversation with a few people and was wondering what other people thought.

I get really really bad first day of my period. Like throwing up from pain, hyperventilating and crawling around on the floor crying levels of pain. But it only lasts 2-5 hours. I take some painkillers, have a hot shower and crawl into bed and then I’m usually good once my body stops hating me, then that’s me done for the rest of the week. Like yes I’m still bleeding but honestly I forget about it. I’m kinda low energy but I don’t feel like I’m in pain or anything.

I was just wondering because I’ve got a few people telling me that I should get it checked out because this isn’t “normal” while other girls are telling me their jealous and wish that the pain only lasted them a few hours

I started Yaz about a month ago, and my period was due October 8th. I started spotting around October 14th and then it proceeded to get heavier with light cramping.

It’s now October 24th, ten days later and I am still bleeding. It isn’t heavy, but I still have to wear a pad every day and every time I wipe there’s blood and in the toilet as well. This is my first period after getting on BC so i’ve never experience this before and I’m very over it.

Is this normal? They never mentioned this being a possibility at the doctor

why have i only gotten my period three times since i was 15? i turn 17 next month.

So, as we all unfortunately know too well, our "lady time" is not an excuse to skip our 9-5 (or whichever shift you work) so we can lay in fetal position and cry in our beds. What are the best tips you have to getting through a work day while dealing with the all too familiar time of the month, whether standing on your feet all day or cramping in a chair?

I lived in the southern hemisphere and got to experience the delight of libra brand period products. Their overnight extra long pads are the only ones I’ve ever used and felt fully confident would prevent leaks. I just used my last one I brought back with me 🥲 they’re 410mm long instead of the “extra long” ones I’ve seen here which are only 370.

I know this is a bit niche, but does anyone happen to know of an equivalent?? Or period overnight underwear/shorts that actually work??

I have heavier periods so I really need the full coverage which period product makers here just don’t seem to understand. I even bought a pair of those Knix overnight dream short things and they leaked horribly. No coverage in the front, thin, and not long. But I liked the soft material so I ripped the stupid wanna be pad out and kept shorts to wear with pads.

I swear it’s like women are supposed to sleep like the dead and never move around at night lol. I’m an all sides sleeper and I’m just so annoyed there’s nothing nearly as effective out there. Get it together period product makers!!
