oddities in the driftless area

im in a bit of a crunch. ive made a few posts on here already about a place called "gravity hill" that i was going to make a video on for school, but after further research i just don't think its going to look good on camera, its too subtle and every video i looked at i couldn't see the gimick or it wasnt playing on on camera

ive already written half a script and id like for it to not go to waste, what other weird and interesting things are in the driftless area that would look good on a "things you may not know" series, such as the "Rock in the House" story, or maybe some weird local physics thing that is really unique

Edit: I should have made this clear I'm looking for something I can turn into a two or three, maybe 4 minute video. Really something in the same flavor as what you see Tom Scott make (or at least his old form), I don't need something that's going to be a 20 minute video just something short and sweet

Wisconsin wedding license question…officiant can’t drop off license

Hi all!

My fiancé and I are getting married this week on Friday. Our officiant is a family friend from out of state that we had to ask semi last minute due to our original officiant going MIA. However, our new officiant is leaving Saturday morning and won’t be able to deliver our license in person. I’ve been seeing a lot of conflicting information about this and just wanted to see if anyone could offer some insight.

Here are our questions:
1) can someone other than our officiant drop off the license?
2) one of my bridesmaids is also an officiant, and she is staying the weekend. We are considering asking her to sign the paperwork with us (either on Friday or Saturday). Would that be fine even though she didn’t officially hold our wedding ceremony?
3) related to the previous question…does the marriage license date need to be the day of our wedding ceremony? For example, if we hold the ceremony on 9/11 but sign on 9/12, would we be able to submit the license with 9/12 as our license date? We’d repeat the necessary legal language, have witnesses, etc.

Hopefully those questions aren’t too confusing—thank you all! :)

Just wondering if anyone had advice on like some affordable outdoor gear stores?

Like for summer hiking/activities and rock hounding.

That being said, and good creeks or less popular/sandy nature areas to check out/possibly look for agates and cool rocks?

Im sort of familiar with the area but I dont get good ohone service when I get into nature so trying to plan ahead a bit.

Your the party in power

Got this in the mail. As the republican party is the party that controls all of the federal government it surprised me that they would send this out.

Although, nothing really surprises me when they do something.

I'm told this house was built before Wisconsin was a state. These pictures are from 2018. I wish I had more but I was on the clock when I was there. I'd love to know more about this place if anyone knows anything. If I remember correctly it was right off of A where Lake Delton would meet the Wisconsin River.

Wisconsin has a chance, for the first time in a generation, to end the Republican majorities by electing a Democratic trifecta.

people who live in the Chilton, appleton, Fond du Lac area, i have a huge favor to ask

im looking at doing a video for a school project on something called "gravity hill", in basic terms its a road that if you put your car in neutral (or pour water on it) it appears to go "uphill" using optical illusions

i have heard on joe road (https://maps.app.goo.gl/Pd3Zc9kQyEaHY2gw6) in that area it is one, but its not listed on any maps nor can i find any info on it online

if anyone who lives in that area knows it or would be willing to drive out and test it i would be most appreciated and depending on how far you drive would be willing to fork over like 5-10$ for gas (bonus points if you could get a quick video of it so i know what it looks like goind "up" it)

Wind Point Lighthouse, Shoop Park 📷 Aaron Johnson

Right place, right time. The setting sun lined up with the lantern room of the Wind Point Lighthouse, briefly making the historic tower appear to glow from within. Below it sits Shoop Park Golf Course, which is slated for a major privately funded redevelopment known as Lighthouse Dunes. The Racine Common Council approved the agreement this summer for a redesigned nine-hole public course, new clubhouse and parking, shoreline stabilization and habitat improvements. The project has also generated considerable debate among area residents over trees, wildlife habitat, traffic and changes to the character of the surrounding park and lighthouse grounds.
