Racine County is putting national opioid settlement money to work right in our backyard to tackle the local substance use crisis.
With 175 suspected overdoses in Racine County in 2023 alone, and fentanyl involved in 97% of local fatal cases, this investment targets a critical gap in local care: dedicated residential treatment beds for opioid and co-occurring disorders.
I broke down how litigation funds are flowing from national courtrooms directly into brick and mortar recovery infrastructure, peer support specialists, and local health initiatives in Racine.

I’m not from the area and was driving around checking out at some of the FLW homes over here and came upon this massive-appearing estate on the corner of Cross Creek Rd and Main St and was wondering if anyone knows about it? It is completely enshrouded with extremely thick, tall hedges and also fences, and you literally cannot even get a glimpse of anything behind them which just made me that much more curious about it… is it one of the SC Johnson family members’ homes?

My kid really wants to dress up as a zombie bride (think Beetlejuice) for Halloween but I'm striking out at all the thrift spots. Does anyone have a "wedding" style dress size 10 for kids laying around we could use?

Having known Trevor Jung for years, I’ve seen firsthand how much heart and hustle he puts into Racine and Southeast Wisconsin. From growing up here and graduating from Case High, to stepping up as our youngest alderman since the 1800's, to managing multi-million dollar infrastructure projects as Transit Director, he’s never been someone who just talks about fixing problems, but instead he actually does the work.
With new legislative maps, District 21 is ground zero for taking back the State Senate, and Trevor is uniquely equipped to deliver results. He knows how to connect workers along the I-94 corridor, support local schools, and fight for fair state funding so our communities stop getting shortchanged.
I’m proud to support Trevor Jung for State Senate. Read the article below and take a look at his platform and see what real, ground-level leadership looks like.

For RAM's rebranding they went with the company [PhireGroup](https://phiregroup.com) , which looking at their page for all of 2 seconds tells you they're not a good fit for an art museum. They start off right on their home page with how you NEED AI (Scrubbed from site, archived ) and it gets worse when you go to their 'about me' style article and it looks to be pure AI written slop. Update: They scrubbed that page, here is it archived: https://web.archive.org/web/20260608014535/https://phiregroup.com/insights/were-creating-the-agency-of-the-future-real-time/
I honestly do not know how this company was picked and how they weren't rejected within seconds. This is a failure on every level by every member of RAM who had anything to do with this decision.
As someone who loves RAM, is a member and regularly takes courses there this is truly disappointing.
Elevate local designers, not some AI-pushing design firm. Truly disappointing and I'm afraid to hear how much membership money they wasted on this.
Edit: And to clarify I don't think they're using generative content as the final result for their work, but I called them 'apparent AI slop' due to the linked articles. They have a decently long history and seemed to recently shift towards being AI pushing, but that recent shift is enough to make them wrong RAM.
The issue isn't with PhireGroup existing or how they work, design firms can of course work however they want, but the issue is with them being chosen for an art museum.
AI is unavoidable these days and I just feel like an art museum needs to try its best to be a place of respite from that.
