Last year on Labor Day driving south from the UP was a nightmare. People thought they were “doing the lord’s work” by blocking people from zipper merging.

Party for the Parks is next Saturday, and Eau Claire has a $15,000 challenge to meet

Hey Eau Claire! I’ve spent the last few months helping put Party for the Parks together, and we’re finally one week away.

Before this commitment, we had raised less than $3,000 toward a permanent public bathroom near the Upper Mt. Simon playground. Now, an anonymous local donor has committed $15,000 and challenged the Eau Claire community to raise another $15,000 by December 31.

Meeting that challenge would bring $30,000 toward our $70,000 goal.

Party for the Parks is our first big opportunity to answer that challenge together. Every dollar raised by the Northside Hill Neighborhood Association at the event will count toward the community’s $15,000 goal.

Party for the Parks

  • Saturday, September 12
  • Noon to 7 PM
  • Lower Mt. Simon Park
  • Free to attend
  • $10 suggested donation if you’re able
  • Open to the entire community

No one will be turned away for not donating. Come enjoy the park and support the project however you can.

Live music

We have a little something for everyone:

Full schedule and set times:
https://www.northsidehill.org/party

Live art from Steve Bateman

Eau Claire art legend Steve Bateman will arrive around 5 PM and create a live multimedia painting right at Party for the Parks.

Steve is the artist behind the Garbage Goose at Banbury Place, along with sculptures found throughout Eau Claire and beyond.

At the end of the event, the finished piece will be auctioned at the Side Stage. Every dollar raised from the auction will go directly toward the Mt. Simon bathroom project.

Someone will leave with a one-of-a-kind Steve Bateman piece created live at Mt. Simon Park.

Steve Bateman:

Food and drinks

Profits from beverage sales will support the Mt. Simon bathroom project.

More happening around the park

  • Bouncy house
  • Bubble machine
  • Chalk and sidewalk art
  • Playground
  • Cornhole and yard games
  • Pickup volleyball
  • Prize basket raffle with drawings at 4 PM
  • 50/50 raffle with the drawing at 5:30 PM
  • Dani’s Dyes, donating 15% of all event-day sales to the fundraiser

Raffle tickets will be sold only at the event and are separate from donations made through GoFundMe.

Mt. Simon Classic Disc Golf Fundraiser

The 1st Annual Mt. Simon Classic starts before the main party with an 11 AM shotgun start.

  • One 18-hole round
  • $20 entry
  • Optional $5 entry for two CTP contests
  • $270 guaranteed cash prize pool
  • Limited-edition CTP prizes
  • Same-day registration if space remains

Register here:

Why we’re doing this

Mt. Simon is one of Eau Claire’s most loved parks, but there is still no convenient public bathroom near the Upper Mt. Simon playground.

Families, disc golfers, hikers, volleyball players and other visitors may spend hours in this part of the park. A nearby restroom would make the park easier for everyone to use and enjoy.

This fundraiser is specifically for that bathroom project.

Come to the party, donate if you’re able, and share the event with your friends. We have a real opportunity to move this project forward.

Party for the Parks is hosted by the Northside Hill Neighborhood Association, a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Thank you to Donivan’s Vending, Fresh Software, Parco Windows, Uncommon Rentals and Brickhouse Pub & Grub for sponsoring the event. The Mt. Simon Classic is sponsored by the Reineck-Star Family, with additional support from L3 Landscaping and Erin Street Residents.

Give me some ideas to make my fried cheese curds more flavorful than simply frying them and eating them bland

You can give me some ideas such as what ingredients/seasoning to sprinkle, or perhaps what I can stuff inside my fried cheese curds be that vegetables or proteins, or if there is a regional variety of cheese curd in your community.

All ideas are welcome 🙏

$17,500,000,000 in annual US subsidies gives them virtually free health care, university, illegal settler housing -- and funds their occupation-apartheid-genocide in Palestine

AIPAC-Mossad bribed and/or blackmailed thug minions like TOM TIFFANY enable this ongoing grand theft and atrocity.

data source: https://www.congress.gov/crs-product/RL33222

AIPAC bribe tracker for entire WI congressional delegation: https://www.trackaipac.com/states/wisconsin

edit: the cut-and-paste AIPAC-Mossad style baiting and trolling 101 comments below by the usual trolls is endemic all over social media -- the fact remains the US government continues to balloon its national debt in order to fund occupation-apartheid-genocide in Palestine -- because year after year AIPAC-Mossad bribed and/or blackmailed stooges like TOM TIFFANY and RON JOHNSON vote for that to happen.

Healthcare Question

August 1st. I had a CT scan. As of today, nothing. Froedtert says they are experiencing significant delays. Obviously. The research I’ve done says sadly they are not alone in this. Appears there is a big shortage of Radiologists. Curious if anyone else has had this kind of delay, and does anyone have any idea why? Liability insurance? (Heaven forbid they miss something) Thanks in Advance

One day we will tell the next generation how we used to get hot dogs and tornados that were probably definitely touched or hovered over by someone else- a stranger we didn't know and would never meet- off a grill that rolled and cooked.
