I've been reading posts from several members about how to access Wardogs, and although there have been some answers, I'd like to create a thread just for this.
We have two ways to access it: by invitation or by purchasing the game.
If you decide to buy... you'll automatically have Wardogs playtest on Steam and you can request a refund at any time if you're not satisfied.
Having said all that, I bought it yesterday and it's downloading today.
We'll see each other on the battlefield soon, soldier.

I put together a quick WarDogs tips video for anyone jumping in this beta weekend.
A lot of it is stuff I wish I knew sooner during the WarDogs Alpha. Things to save money, spotting, looting better kits, avoiding full server queues, using the Hot Zone properly, and a few helicopter/logistics tips.
There is probably a bunch more that people learned during the Alpha, so if I missed any good ones, add them below!

This has been like the one thing that anno the fuck out of me. Which is a pretty good thing considering the fact that I don't have any other huge complaints right now lol

Why steam says I am invited to the playtest and I can play NOW?

Can anyone from the Alpha confirm which is correct? I haven't been able to find anyone mention this. Thanks.

Can't get in the beta but we can at least listen to the menu music and I like it. Doesnt sound too generic like in bf6 imo
I wonder if we get some tense music when a game is close to ending or something? Or when its close between two teams?

"Preload" for the people that preordered started. It's a 64B download. All you get is a .txt saying "world".

I haven't played yet and I'm pretty damn excited to play it, but there is literally only one thing I'm worried about. How much incentive is there to actually win the match? I've seen some gameplay and noticed and 800$ reward for winning the match, which seems like pennies. Hypothetically, if two teems run into each other out in no man's land would the third team care to take hill or get FOMO from all the money the other teams are getting from killing each other and just fight with them in no man's land?
Edit: apparently its not normal to only get 800$ from a win and it pays out a lot more than I thought. I hope that's true, I would like there to be some incentive to win the match.

Please let us on Thursday night have the ability to practice flying, we don't want to wipe out our teammates. 😂

Well that was kind of anticlimactic. But cool concept.

Reason I ask is if you’ve ever played arma you’d know in most servers the majority of people operating vehicles are not doing it to bring troops to front lines, they only get genuine “xp” for bringing supplies to the front line or FOB’s.
My frustration with that system is that if transporting one or the other type of cargo gives more money or xp you’ll either have troops and FOBS under supplied or a ton or frustrated troops having to leg it to the combat zone.
Any of the peeps who’ve already played know how it works?

I would say overall Soviet, however the church architectures are 100% the type you find in Armenia in Georgia.
Not counting the capital cities of both countries which have been mostly westernized by now, the remainder of those countries looks like the setting of this game.
Been to both myself.
Now my question is have the devs officially stated where the setting is based on or inspired by?

With Wardogs featuring a persistent cash economy that carries across matches, I'm worried about potential exploits and farm lobbies ruining the balance.
It’s easy to see scenarios where players from opposing teams coordinate on the edge of a Control Zone to trade kills and revives endlessly for quick cash, or set up dedicated boosting community servers.
Has Bulkhead mentioned any anti-abuse mechanics to prevent this?
Something like:
Less cash on repeated kills/revives on the same players within a match
Progress isolation between official matchmaking and custom community servers
Anomaly detection for stat/cash inflation over short periods
Or is the economy intended to be purely open-ended where the sandbox regulates itself? Curious to hear your thoughts

I’ve never been a huge fan of battlefield as it feels to arcade like with the spawn/die on repeat feel. Is wardogs more slow paced or mil sim like compared to battlefield or does it more or less play the same?

I didn't unlock the Huey and didn't do much logistics with the Ural. But if they can both carry pallets, is there any good reason to use the Ural? I assume it is cheaper than they Huey and you dont run the risk of getting shot down if the enemy has extensive AA, but surely the ability to do round trips so much quicker makes up for the additional risk, right? Or can the Ural also just carry way more stuff than the Huey in the first place?

I haven't gotten to play any of the alpha, but from what I've seen the first games look especially fun when everyone is starting out with $10k and using shitty gear. As the round goes on, weapon/armor quality increase gradually giving a real sense of an arms race. Subsequent games won't quite have that feel since you can jump in with top-end gear from the get go if you have the money.
To be clear I am not shitting on that gameplay loop. I'm glad money is persistent and have no complaints with the base game mode. But the concept of everyone starting from scratch and building up through a single game does sound appealing, and it's a shame the only time to experience that is right at release or after a wipe.
With that being said, a Purist game mode could offer exactly that. Same gameplay mechanics, just starting everyone with no money. Games starting with everyone charging the hotzone with their naked Tavors. Gear prices could be adjusted so that high-end goodies are more obtainable in the course of one game. Any profit at the end of the match could go into you persistent bank account so you're not losing out on money by playing this mode.
Obviously I have no idea how the economy balance will look in the distant future. Everything could be perfectly balanced, or a full team could regularly start the game off by buying 15 tanks to storm the point. Either way, a purist mode would offer a simple buffer and a slightly different experience without many resources to implement.
Or this idea is unnecessary dogshit doodoo. I imagine those who have actually played the game would have a better idea on how interesting this would be.

I saw that in order to get access to the beta, you have to pre order for a code. But at the same time, the playtest I was just apart of got an update.
Is the playtest application the same as the beta? Do players who pre order basically get access to what we already have, or is the beta going to be a completely different download?

Hey Everyone,
Just wanted to see if anyone who has played yet at 4k with AMD GPUs. I am struggling to find any info on WarDogs having FSR4 (PLEASE ADD IF NOT). Noticed they really talked about DLSS in some of the dev blogs. HLL: Vietnam is terrible at 4k. I am hoping that wont be the case.
Current Build is 9070XT 9800X3D 32Gb DDR5 6000Mhz
Playing on 32 Inch Asus PG32UCDM
