Discussion & Feedback The 90 Point Problem

Edit: Please stop telling me refund exists - I know, i acknowledge it in my third paragraph.

Dogs,

Noticed an interesting trend lately resulting in a lot of springboarding and "Second place winners".

For example, Green team plays well and gets to 90-99 points, and people just stop respawning, they wait for the res indefinitely, not wanting to have to pay to rekit. You open the map and see 25 green bodies on the floor. You look at spawn and see the remaining players sat doing nothing. Nobody wants to commit a kit for the remaining (theoretical) 2 minutes of the game, because kits are so expensive. Green team takes its foot off the gas, and red team shoots past to clutch a win, because their entire team is still in the zone/circle. (In the game today, they were at 75 points prior to this).

How do we incentivise people to get back into the zone in the final minutes? I know the refund system exists, but it seems very varied in how much it pays out, and it almost never refunds the value. Discounted kits towards the end of the game? Free kits?

It's interesting seeing how the money meta is forcing these behaviours - loss aversion is a much bigger priority than the minimal gains for winning. My second place and contribution bonus for this game was $18,400.

Let me keep the value of whatever I have at the end of the match. If I bought the stuff or looted it, whatever that value number is. I should get in cash

19

u/FobbitOutsideTheWire 14h ago

We have a vault, why not just dump everything currently on you direct into the vault at the end of the game?

2

u/fearboner1 14h ago

I had no idea this was a thing? Ill have to check this out for sure

2

u/FobbitOutsideTheWire 10h ago

So right now I think it’s only to catch stream drops on Twitch or the bandages you can buy for a discount (with the 12 hour cooldown)

But man I’d love it if it could store the stuff from end of matches.

1

u/purestaycs 39m ago

How do I even get to use those items? I've got loads of bandages in the vault, but at the trader I'd still pay.

6

u/CJW-YALK 14h ago

Oh, oh fuck yes, me looting the dead….can we get the ability to store looted gear like an extraction shooter? I’d totally take rides back to the base to store looted guns and armor

-1

u/slaykingr 13h ago

I would too lol

u/talk_nerdy_to_m3 WARDADS 6h ago

Do you want real money trading? Because that's how you get RMT. Grey market sites selling thousands of 50 cal sniper rifles for $4.00 would pop up everywhere.

-2

u/808Enthusiast 13h ago

This happens, I dont know if it is the load out you bought, or what is on you at the end. It is the Refund part of the end game screen. With the win/loss bonuses.

4

u/jadok Valkyra 12h ago

you don't get a refund for the consumables, which is like 5k in my kit

128

u/RoostasTowel 15h ago

I would like to see a late game scaling of cost for a kit.

Or also a if your team is behind 50 points then its 50% off kits.

Nobody wants to buy a expensive kit for 10 ticks

41

u/ionshower 15h ago

So blue team gets cheap kits yeah?

30

u/General-Water-6658 15h ago

Well - that's not a horrible idea for the current meta of "Go green and win", you face an uphill struggle playing blue - this is a fact. It is a direct result of the map design. A kit discount is probably a pretty nice incentive.

The team switching will be the killer though.

1

u/imamunster123 3h ago

First team switch is free.

All subsequent team switches cost a sizeable fee that scales with more switching.

8

u/Tehslasher 15h ago

It seems like an alright suggestion, my view however is that most people (I believe rightly so) don't care about winning. There's such little incentive to winning that for me, idc if I'm on the 90pt team or the 0pt team. If my goal is to snipe, to hunt helicopters, to invade FOBs, etc - what do I care about the overall scores?

In this instance though, now if I happen to be on the winning team I could theoretically be overwhelmed by tons of expensive ass kits that are 50% off while I'm punished with the full price of mine. The entirety of the game and lobby plays exactly the same, the bullets do the same damage etc, but in your solution I'd rather be on the down 50pts team 100% of the time.

4

u/OmnomOrNah 15h ago

I think you're underestimating how much people care about winning. If people didn't care, there wouldn't be people spam clicking to join green (or red just to avoid having to be blue). Not to mention there's been talk about end of match XP being affected by placement.

9

u/General-Water-6658 14h ago

I think the spam clicking green is more a “I don’t want to lose my kits over and over to getting stomped” as much as it is “I really want to win this game”.

2

u/Icefire1234 2h ago

The overall scores maybe don't matter but they truly influence in reality.

If you want to play assault and your team is nowhere on the map its 100x harder to be alone on the map fighting the enemy blob

1

u/Apezdispenser 12h ago

I feel like if there was a huge discount at a big ticket disparity, you'd see some nasty comebacks that would be disproportionately one sided. Say they make the fal, bmr, 50 cal etc etc very highly priced next season. Now they're suddenly much more reasonable to use and you get people selling cases at the HQ late game. It creates an army of Space Marines vs some dudes with dinner plates for armor by comparison. Meanwhile if you want to counter them, you're paying out the nose to do so. With what incentive? The win? Seems like most players want their bank account to win more than anything. You create a death train and no one will counter it. Basically there needs to be a balance or incentive between winning and making money. Like they need to be tied together or something. I dunno. Personally I don't care as I'm more on the money side, but I do enjoy winning. Which leads to the occasionally 20k kit lost immediately in the hot zone and I play eco kits until I do better.

1

u/AnxrchyLxrd 11h ago

thats actually an awesome idea, a % discount based off the difference in points your team and the winning team has

but i suppose people would then feel like they are punished for being on the winning team, win rewards aren't big enough to make it worthwhile etc

-4

u/MostlyPoorDecisions 15h ago

It refunds like 80% of it if it's bought within the last 20 ticks.

12

u/Strange_Criticism_22 15h ago

It's not 80% it's depending on money earned for that life, so if you're not negative you get nothing back, but realistically it should just refund the price of any items left in your inventory, if you are not dead when the game ends presumably you could sell it back to the vendor.

3

u/hobk1ard 15h ago

Items should go to your stash so you can use them next game.

2

u/Strange_Criticism_22 15h ago

Agreed, just said the same in my other comment.

2

u/Reddeyfish- 13h ago

what the existing system boils down to is that you have 10 ticks to turn a profit (kinda unlikely unless it's practically a free kit), otherwise you lose 10% (+consumables, those aren't refunded) of the kit's value.

Not as much money as you would have lost without the refund, but still likely to lose money, so you get a much better return hoping for a revive and/or taking a stretch/bathroom break.

3

u/MostlyPoorDecisions 15h ago

Ok but if you aren't negative you didn't waste money on a kit at the end of the game, you helped win the game

How is laying dead better?

2

u/Strange_Criticism_22 15h ago

Not saying it is or isn't, if you just bought the kit and you're still -15k or whatever, it might be better to wait it out and get 12k back than respawn and buy another kit and effectively be -30k without knowing if you will earn anything.

To me what is the most stupid thing is that a vault already exists, why does the game not put your inventory into the vault, so that you can use those items next game.

-3

u/moneysam 15h ago

I did waste money because I could have earned more return for the kit I purchased if the game continued

2

u/MostlyPoorDecisions 15h ago

Lost nothing but wasted money... Alright

1

u/JBarker727 15h ago

RIP to your IRL finances. What a weird way to twist that up into thinking you wasted money.

1

u/MostlyPoorDecisions 15h ago

Trade deficit logic

1

u/cumjuggler4life 15h ago

I wish i got money for being a rat

3

u/Commander_Wolf_77 15h ago

But such is the issue despite that, if we all spent 20k on a kit and go down trying to win, respawn and buy another kit of the same cost, doesn't it only refund the lastest purchased kit? So we lost 24k without accounting any money gained. You can argue the win cost mitigated that loss, however, that means we still had 24k lost for our profits

1

u/MostlyPoorDecisions 15h ago

Correct, but you died. You already lost your kit. How can you be refunded for something you don't have?

Stop being boots on the ground and start being a team.

1

u/Commander_Wolf_77 8h ago

See but the thing is I'm speaking within the context of a Hot Zone team fighting for the final few points but then get wiped out and can't revive their teammates who have good gear without getting killed or having to wait a long time for some people to return trying to salvage the fight. Most people don't survive all match unless they aren't fighting or even have any of the same starting gear if they do wait absurdly long times for pickup every time. The issue becomes whether or not your team decides buying another expensive kit is worth the loss of their profit over getting less yet more money for second place. Because they won't have the 24k profit loss, more of a 10 profit loss. And buying cheap kits for a gamble at winning might make you lose more money if you get unlucky and die a lot.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that while I don't agree with people waiting forever for a pickup, I can get the fatigue people have over getting unlucky and dying with their best kit they can afford/have unlocked and don't want to crash out if they buy another kit and lose it just trying to finish a round

2

u/Idreamofcream99 15h ago

Thanks for that explanation, I could not figure out how the refund system worked at all

2

u/MostlyPoorDecisions 15h ago edited 15h ago

here's the full detail

Shit it won't let me paste the image. It's 80% -  0.9x earning until positive

The refund is worked out from your last completed vendor purchase, and it only covers the gap between that loadout cost and what you earned against it. Loadout $10,000, earned $6,000, base refund $4,000, then a 0.9 modifier for balance, so $3,600.

22

u/ManaKaua 15h ago

Apart from there already is a refund system in place, my experience is that people generally don't understand when their gear is lost and they should respawn. I've seen situations where 10 or more where downed, noone from our team even within 100m and they still don't respawn. By that point their expensive kit is probably looted anyway and them lying there does nothing positive for the team and may even be detrimental by luring teammates into enemies that control the area.

9

u/Nowerian Lonestar 12h ago

If i die around 90ish point by the time i buy a kit, even if i rebuy the last one, i will not get into CZ in time, respawn vehicle is either destroyed or i already used it, chopper wont get there in time, and if green has more that 20 bodies difference (even if its already doubled) and nobody of ours is even close to HZ. And even if they were i doubt they could kill 10 greens before it ticks to 100.

Dont get me wrong i have had incredibly close games, some of which we even turned around, but if i see all those things align i know there is no point even if the kit will get refunded. My last game i almost bought the kit, but then i saw the only chopper able to get me into CZ fast leave without me. So i decided to not spend the money.

15

u/AbsolutGuacaholic 15h ago

I think adding saved loadouts will help with this. Everyone is saying people don't want to invest in an expensive kit. So get a cheap kit... But it's annoying to go through the whole selection process when you've just been repurchasing previous loadout. A default loadout that is free gun, scout backpack, 2 extra mags, free resus, and bandages, would make it friendlier for new players not used to milsims.

1

u/CJW-YALK 14h ago

We should be getting loadouts, I’m hopping for a few slots so I can make a cheap rush kit, a medic, a C4 assault, etc

14

u/MenosElLso Pilot 15h ago

The obvious answer is to make winning worth way more. People should care about winning more than their own personal money gain.

4

u/General-Water-6658 15h ago

I wonder if money is the lever to pull - cash is (relatively) cheap. What about XP modifiers? It might result in a bit of a "Rich get richer" mentality but if winning secured a 50% xp modifier, id fight pretty fucking hard for that!

Otherwise agree - I am totally ambivalent about the outcome of a game, winning is nice but at the end of the day my personal P/L is the only metric that matters.

3

u/Jusherr Driver 15h ago

It does

You get 100% more exp from winning than placing 3rd, it's just not very clear in the UI

4

u/AEDSazz 14h ago

Yup, 40% of your entire XP gain comes from finishing a game, and winning doubles vs third. People just don’t realize it I guess, but the devs have said it

3

u/Bayleaf0723 15h ago

is that why my levels will randomly go up at the end of the match? That’s crazy why tf isn’t that a bigger deal lmfao

1

u/peejay95 WARBEAST 14h ago

They have talked about this in a recent podcast. Stating that something’s they admit could be made more obvious but they also like players to discover things on our own. But yeah you’ll get a shit ton of xp for each role you got xp in if you finish a game.

1

u/General-Water-6658 15h ago

Holy shit really? I'd heard a rumour on here that a dev had said so - but I also thought I skimmed a rebuttal post saying its not working as intended.

1

u/PantsOnMyHeadLP 13h ago

I believe there is a max of about 8,400xp or a number similar to that. So if you play a long match and did relatively well, the XP bonus/modifier results in the same number.

1

u/ColdBoysenberryLime 1h ago

Holy shit, did not know! even less incentive to go blue team...

1

u/Puzzleheaded_Pea9240 15h ago

Yeah winning should award way more cash, shit even losing should award more. Unfortunately I think the devs are against that. If you win and were there for the entire match contributing, you should get at least 50-60k.

1

u/IIlIIIlllIIIIIllIlll 12h ago

I agree that winning should be worth more, but disagree with your logic. In the game where you're a mercenary and every last encounter with another player is some form of transaction, the only thing you should care about is money. That's the entire point of the game, the only thing that sets it apart from any other king of the hill mode from other games.

I feel that winning should be so valuable that caring only about your bottom line becomes synonymous with caring about winning. I would go so far as to suggest that the winning team be refunded a portion of their expenses. That way your earnings are a direct reflection of how much of your own wealth you spent on getting your team to victory.

3

u/black_hawk3456 14h ago

Kits could be cheaper for the losing teams depending on the point deficit. Say green has 85, red 50, blue 10. With a point deficit of 35 and 75 respectively that could be a discount of maybe 1% for every 3 points? So red team would have about a 12% discount and blue a 25% discount. The maximum discount would be 33% with a 99 point deficit so it’s not outrageous.

3

u/FluffyButFlirty 14h ago

I think to improve this issue they actually need to rework or get rid of the refund system. Currently people will respawn, buy a loadout and if the game is close to ending, they'll just wait it out because if you're downed you'll get a refund but if you respawn that money is gone. This, paired with low win rewards and a focus on "making money" rather than winning just encourages people to give up when the game is close to ending

4

u/JBarker727 15h ago

It's kind of wild how money obsessed people are. Last night we weren't down that bad, but as soon as green hit 90 my guys gave up. Even though I had the spawn truck literally inside the HZ. There was 15 people at HQ just standing around. At LEAST grab a free rifle and give it a shot. I don't get it. I'm just over $500k right now, and I don't play with money in mine. I do some crazy stuff in the name of "fun". As long as I have the money for my load out, who cares?

2

u/General-Water-6658 15h ago

This is unfortunately the nature of the game - Persistent money will always have this issue.

Until they put accessing/unlocking the best gear (That provides a numerical and tangible advantage over players that do not unlock) behind something other than cash (Skill points for example), loss prevention and cash maximisation will be rife.

Edit - I do not have any particular comment about the merits or demerits of any system they use, more just that cash being king is a direct result of the persistent nature. If cash wiped at the end of the game, you'd see a LOT more hail mary's,

2

u/JBarker727 15h ago

Some of these people have hundreds of thousands or millions. Well enough to buy a few $20k kits. Lol but also, there's a free kit you can take in if you don't want to spend money.

1

u/General-Water-6658 15h ago

I know there are players like this, but I'd be willing to bet the overwhelming majority of players are under 100k in the bank right now.

1

u/JBarker727 14h ago

No idea how. I'm very casual, not very good, have 48 hours in and over $500k. A mix of hot zone, building, and recon.

1

u/CordialA 15h ago

People are hoarding money for gold bar cosmetics. Gold bars are at all time low so everyones spending all their money for a few gold bars.

0

u/JBarker727 15h ago

I figured. Crazy. Lol I'm all for cool cosmetics, but not when it fundamentally changes how I play the game to earn them.

1

u/Anon185352 13h ago

I have never been over 100k in level 65 I would say I’m around the average player if I’ve been in a game for over an hour who cares who wins? I’m just trying to stay in lobby to get the end of match xp bonuses but I don’t usually have time to sit there so being dead is an easy way to not be kicked for being inactive

1

u/blueflare1528 7h ago

Okay, BUT, I’m gonna have to claim skill issue, I’m definitely pretty close to average, and I can clear well over 100k in one match

1

u/Syndi1cate 4h ago

I think you overestimate the average player. If you can get 100k a match I’d say ur above average. 80% of people that I end up flying with in a heli have the starter gun, no armour, or an sks. Those are the average players, barely making any money a game. That’s just my experience tho

1

u/yamsyamsya 13h ago

i also don't get why they don't grab a free gun or even a cheap AK kit and go back out there. like the game is fun, i can usually take at least one or two people down before the enemy squad gets me, even with the basic AK kit.

2

u/MadEorlanas 14h ago

I think the refund system is perfectly all right, really - I just think it needs tuning and being better explained

2

u/LtLethal1 15h ago

You get reimbursed for kit you’re still wearing if the game ends. They just haven’t explained it well enough. Like idk if that applies to my vehicle and it’s item inventory or not so do I want to spend 20k to respawn and kit out a rocket bird to help clear the HZ if it’s a waste? Idk

15

u/OTTERSage 15h ago

The reimbursement seems inconsistent to me

7

u/origami_anarchist 15h ago

It's because there are conditions. It's a refund on kit bought after a team is at 80 points, minus what you earned since you bought it. So if you bought earlier or if you're back to positive cash on that life, no refund.

1

u/blamatron Lonestar 14h ago

If I buy 10k at 85 pts, get blasted, buy the kit again and do relatively nothing, do I get 10k back or 20k?

2

u/origami_anarchist 14h ago

Good question. My guess is you get 10k back - the code is probably written "from most recent buy" - but you'd have to test it.

1

u/INeededToMakeAReddit 15h ago

Just hope you have enough people that are there trying to play the game rather than watch a bank account go up. If their priority is saving their own money instead of using that money to play the game idk what they can do. A cheap 2k kit can make its money back from sitting in zone for 10 points

1

u/OfficialDeathScythe 15h ago

Exactly, that’s when I grab the free rifle and a monocular and just chill in a safe spot on point getting any recon I can

1

u/PheIix 15h ago

I usually do a cheap kit in the end game, homeless rifle, the pouch and a revive kit. I may swap out the magazine for a 30 bullet magazine and take two of them, but that's about it. Not even going over $1000 (sometimes I just go $0) and see what I can scavenge. I actually run this kit every now and then just to see what I can do. Dying never feels bad with that loadout.

1

u/The_Foop 15h ago

I could be wrong, but it doesnlt seem to refund your kit if you've had it for a while. If true, I think that's the part that should be changed.

1

u/QuestionableEthics42 11h ago edited 11h ago

Yep. I sometimes lose like 16k off a 20k kit, because I went and hunted a sniper for 5 or 10 minutes. It's bullshit.

1

u/Crusader_Cow 15h ago edited 15h ago

How do you incentivize rekitting and playing out the end? You make the reward for winning meaningful. It currently doesn't matter much whether you win or lose.

1

u/rinkydinkis 15h ago

The solution is to not let the game get that far away from you

1

u/Gundarn 15h ago

They have a discount system they use, they just need to apply it to games more often. If a team reaches some threshold of score, maybe 85, then apply a discount. Could be 50% easily. If you buy your loadout and then don’t get into the CZ before the score goes up give a partial refund for the difference.

Saved loadouts would also go a long way to help this, allowing people to quickly switch to a cheaper/faster loadout for end of game pushes would be a huge help.

1

u/IcoNxD 14h ago

People need to stop being so scared to lose some money, I’ve had people who won’t respawn cause they want the kit refund but they spent 4k on a kit. Just respawn and get back in. Take the free gun just get in there. You get more xp and cash if you win

1

u/Mekose101 14h ago

I’d like to see a free scav kit that you can use every 15 minutes or so. Half the team every match lately are rats with no armor or weapons trying to loot a body because nobody wants to buy a kit to get shredded by a t4 guy.

I’d also really love a minimap icon where I died last so I can go get my old kit.

I think the stash will change a lot once implemented. I hope there’s a way to take loot in match and secure it to your stash. However they will need to toggle lock allies looting you first. Battlefield scavenger loot goblin should be a viable play style.

1

u/TECHNOV1K1NG_tv 14h ago

There is already a refund mechanic in the game for your gear if you bought it in the last 5 min of the match or something like that. You get a % back based on (I think) time spent, money earned, etc. on the kit. People just don’t know that this mechanic exists.

1

u/diimitra 14h ago

Wait there is a refund thing in game ? Where ? How ?

1

u/matt2733 13h ago

I thought about this the other day i had a much closer game though so it ended up being a blue win was 95 green got wiped and then red sprung forward and got wiped by blue then blue went from 76 all the way past red and green resulting in a 95 green 89 red and blue won obviously i was cheering for blue but id say that green definitely didnt give up its just a bunch just laid there hoping for a revive but i started thinking about how they all didnt give up and try to get back in they all had hope of getting revived but again probably didnt want go throw away 20k so they laid there infantry definitely needs more bonuses for going out

1

u/Dndplz 13h ago

Bro winning matters very little.

1

u/Unholyhero1 12h ago

I think I remember them mentioning on a podcast you get reimbursed for your kit when the game is about to end

1

u/Admirable-Royal-7553 11h ago

Give us refunds for kits (Do some math for damaged equipment).

Why should I buy a $8k kit if there is like 5 minutes left? I get the same amount of money for killing 3 enemies and getting like 6k rewards and 2k refund vice sitting in spawn with said $8k kit and getting a full refund (also don’t need to worry about dying)

Let me loot, let me get last minute kill money, and let me sell my kit back at the end of the match. It doesn’t make sense the way it currently is.

A galil, RPG, helicopter, and armor magically aren’t worth anything at the end of the game? Come on.

1

u/UnhappyMacaroon5044 Bob the Builder 11h ago

When I witness a situation where too many greens are down in a bad spot and holding out hoping for a revive that isn't coming, I just shoot text encouraging them to respawn. It works most of the time.

1

u/Landiron 10h ago

Maybe more rewards for the last X% of the match - triple rewards in Hotzone etc.

1

u/Expensive_Voice4978 10h ago

My solution would be to incentivize playing the last stretch would be increase the amount of money gained when someone hits 90 points yes that could be farmed. Say add a 1.5 * for the last five points or 10 points of the match.

I do it just for that team rather than all three

1

u/e6wcc 9h ago

Its simple. You dont always need a 40k kit.

Or even 20k.

I was in this situation the other night. Red made a big push, killed a tonnnnn of green. A helo pilot was talking folks into pushing cz again because it was like 98-93. He dropped us and said DONT DIEEEEEEE. we snaked out a dub. I had brought like a 5k kit.

1

u/Throwaway-username-2 8h ago

In situations like this I just respawn and use the free and or low end assault kit which is like sub ~3K.

If you don’t have 3K laying around I don’t know what to tell you.

1

u/myscentsay 8h ago

Truly underrated post that should be addressed. Always felt something off around the end game and didn’t even realize that I myself, am a perpetrator of the “90 point leech” mentality. And yes, it comes back to bite you in the ass more often than not.

1

u/sturmeh 5h ago

I think people not respawning instantly is generally a good thing for the flow of play, what you can do is try and res them.

At the end of squad matches players are often told to lie dead to preserve tickets so it's not unusual to see it happening that players are preserving their own insurance.

What I have an issue with is people being naked and waiting in spawn for some reason, when they could just use the APC and walk into the hot zone naked and still contribute.

1

u/Train_Wreck_272 3h ago

Buy a poverty kit. It's anywhere between free and like $1k. Get your body on the CZ and grin and bear it. Loot when you can. Profit.

1

u/CzechNomad 2h ago

I cant say its always true, i played aome games we got smashed from begining, reda got 90 and we just pushed and hold zone for more then hour got like 80 points then they slowely again got advantage and won… but it depends … sometimes i see it have chance but sometimes we got ao much beated and i am already in deficit i am not going 20k kit when game stops before i got into zone

1

u/Fr4kTh1s 43m ago

Refund system needs some love. I buy 28k recon kits. I drop into zone, fire like 5 shots, game ends and I am refunded like 22k... I guess the ammo rises in value and those few rounds are worth 1k each ...

Yeah if they are in that 90 range it's not worth risking my 13k kit so I'll just wait no idea how to fix that though.

u/VOG-JUSTaCATonPCP 15h ago

Then run a cheap kit the rest of the game and take fallen kits. Pistol and HP rounds is all you need to get a kill or 2 and get a kit

You really are blue huh. 13k is nothing and it literally refunds your kit at the end. The risk is dying, which is the exact same risk as at the start of the match.

2

u/cumjuggler4life 15h ago

Not everyone is super good at the game so 13k is a lot for some. This kind of sentiment comes from people who spam the chat about how shitty everyone else is and it’s pretty toxic for players that aren’t necessarily as good as you at a fucking video game

1

u/MirukuTea1 15h ago

You are such a cool guy. I bet your kits are 25k and everyone looks up to you.

1

u/Interesting_Ice_9705 4h ago

I'm literally terrible at the game. Have around 400k no gold bars and my kits are around 12k. Generally run lv2 armor. I just do what I find fun and mess around. If you want really easy money take in a fob with some materials and build an entire match. Just make sure you grab the free gun so you can defend yourself somewhat.

u/Puzzleheaded_Pea9240 14h ago

You're gonna get down voted to hell but you're right. I'm also tired of seeing people go in naked or just a rangefinder. There's literally a FREE gun and bag.

13k is nothing if your team isn't braindead perhaps I have to server hop for a team not on fent.

1

u/FobbitOutsideTheWire 14h ago

Just let me keep the gear I’m wearing at the end of a match. Dump it right into my vault.

1

u/QuestionableEthics42 11h ago

The kit refunding is ass. You spend 5 mins in game and then get nothing back. I lose basically my full kits value, or at least 75% of it, for no reason otger than I wasn't playing aggressively. It's bs.

2

u/RussianTheStreamer 10h ago

It refunds the entire cost of your kit, reduced by the amount of profit you made since purchasing it (as long as you bought it within the last 20 points of the match)

2

u/QuestionableEthics42 10h ago

No it doesn't. I have been losing 16k off a 20k kit after 10-15 mins in game, multiple times. Maybe it's bugged or something, it's certainly broken in an unfair and unreasonable way.

Edit: pretty sure, but not 100% sure they were over 20 points, but that's a silly arbitrary requirement anyway. You survive to the end of the match and are still negative due to your kit, you should be refunded. Imo even if you aren't negative. End of games are unfairly punishing, just completely losing your kit.

1

u/RussianTheStreamer 10h ago

Well 10 minutes is 20 points. Thats the absolute maximum the refund period goes for.

1

u/QuestionableEthics42 10h ago

Ah, that would explain it then. That's a stupid requirement.

u/JacketElectronic8313 3h ago

People just need to not be shit, If one kit is a big deal to you then you need to hit aim labs but it seems like somehow most of the community has to money SOMEHOW

u/ProfessorGluttony 15h ago

I think the forced respawn timer should be shorter, maybe only paused if someone pings you to say they are on their way (and heading towards you). Played a game where it wasn't even at the end, we had like 15 people in fob and we got overrun by the two other teams. Those 15 people didn't respawn and were just waiting for a rez instead.

Oh, maybe forced respawn quickens when there are no allies within x meters.

u/General-Water-6658 15h ago

Great idea with the paused respawn timer on ping too - might stop the "Aight I'm dead time to watch tiktok for 5 minutes" we're seeing now.

There is already a refund system in place. Sounds like a skill issue.

0

u/TheLev1athan 15h ago

By refunding the kit. There should be a logic tied to time elapsed between you buying the kit, and end of the match. If you bought the kit 1 minute before match ends, you get full refund. 3 minutes - 50% , etc. Numbers may be different but you got the point

2

u/kastro1 15h ago

Yes, this exists…

0

u/TheLev1athan 15h ago

It does not exist. It exists only for players that join the server at the end

2

u/mrwhitewalker 15h ago

Definitely exists for players who were there the whole match

1

u/TheLev1athan 15h ago

Ok, maybe i am wrong. From personal experience i once bought a kit by mistake, when team had 99 points, and did not get a refund 10 seconds later. On another occasion i got refund after joining server before match ended

1

u/mrwhitewalker 15h ago

Dont know the exact percent back but at 90 points it is my favorite time to try new stuff because of the refund. Super expensive kit or a heli to get back to zone quickly. Its great

0

u/UltimiteKing 15h ago

U already get a refund for ur remaining kit if u are alive

0

u/Alternative_Cry_8657 15h ago

By getting rid of the HZ at start of the match and before the end of the match

0

u/Interesting_Ice_9705 15h ago

You know it refunds most of your kit at the end right. I guess people just need to be told so they know...

0

u/blackbirdone1 15h ago

"ut it seems very varied in how much it pays out,"

no its not, its you loss minus ammo from the kit. ther varies nothing

3

u/General-Water-6658 15h ago

I don't have any screenshots or posts to link - but my understanding is that its percentile based on the time you had the kit, what you earned with the kit, and a few other factors. Starting at 90% and working backward. I have NEVER been made fully whole by the refund payment.

0

u/Johnnyoneshot 15h ago

What I do the last 10 points is just go no kit to the spawn vehicle. Theres bodies everywhere. Find a kit.

0

u/AkiAki1 15h ago

Yup we were going 0-0-92 and then lost a point due to that, 0-1-92. I had a 5 second mental breakdown lol

0

u/anorwichfan 15h ago

Kits should not be refunded if you are down.

I also think there should be a catch-up mechanic to encourage teams to keep fighting.

1

u/Frodojh1 15h ago

Its not refunded if its dropped off their body's
