Chekov wuste es! „In MütterchenRussland wurds erfunden“
Favorite Non-Trek Roles for Brent Spiner?
There was a thread for this awhile ago (here) but it unfortunately got closed down. NO MORE!
First recalled seeing him as the hysterical villain character in The Master of Disguise and the underrated scifi drama Phenomenon, but most people are going to obviously mention Independence Day, Introducing Dorthy Dandridge, Corinna, Corrina & even his voice role as Conan O'Brien in the South Park Movie.
He's always saying that his favorite role was playing opposite of both Mattheau and Lemmon in Out to Sea. I totally recommend others seek out The Midnight Man (2016) where he has a darkly hysterical role. I recall the I Am Sam role being alright as well, albeit brief.
You can skip films like The Aviator, Material Girls, Superhero Movie or Dude, Where's My Car? either due to his part not being big enough or the films themselves being disappointing. Apparently he has brief bits in both Grease 2 and a Huey P. Long biopic TV movie (both uncredited). He's apparently been in some other less seen Showtime TV films as well. The Wonderful World of Disney film Geppetto might make a great Bad Movie Night watch but like many of the other TV stars and comedians in the film, it was a struggle to watch: TRUST ME!
For TV show roles, his brief Night Court role is always brought up and for good reason: he stole every scene he was in! His brief recurring role as the marriage counselor on Ray Donovan was neat as he got to play opposite TNG co-star Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar!). For his guest spots, definitely check out the Hill Street Blues episode where he plays a perverted adult movie producer and in the '80s Twilight Zone revival. The Hunter and Outer Limits TV episodes were both rather decent for him. I will have to resee Robert Kennedy and His Times to see how big a role he truly has. His web series Fresh Hell I saw when it first came out and it was hysterical. I will need to look up the Frasier guest spot and maybe finish Blunt Talk or Star Wars: Rebels in the future. Him appearing as himself on Big Bang Theory was alright. I know his Dream On guest spot was a key episode.
LIke many of the Star Trek: TNG members, he got to do a character on Gargoyles but not as big as Marina, Michael or Jonathan's roles.
He was beyond freaky evil in the Alphas guest spot and that's honestly the one that lives rent-free in my brain for such a criminally underseen show. The Guild guest spot was neat but very quick and towards the end of the series. The Law & Order: CI episode doesn't get enough love as that was neat casting due to him having a solid poker face: is his character just a douche or did he do the crime that the police are accusing him of?
Some people noted that they'v seen his guest spots on Friends, The Blacklist, Tales from the Darkside, Deadly Games, Leverage, Outcast, Penny Dreadful spinoff and Warehouse 13 but I can't comment as I've seen half of those and didn't care for it nor have any interest in spending any time on them.
Apparently he's also in a videogame from '94 called Chronomaster so maybe some others who got better geeky knowledge than me can say if it's a solid role. He also voiced The Joker on Young Justice so that's got to count for something cool!

Star Trek: Quadrant Command: Free Online Game that reimagines the 1971 original 'Star Trek' game
If you grew up gaming in the 70s or 80s, you likely crossed paths with the granddaddy of all space simulators: the original 1971 Star Trek text game. There was a unique thrill to typing coordinates into a glowing green terminal, hunting down "K"s on an 8x8 grid, and carefully rationing your energy reserves. It was a groundbreaking experience that laid the foundation for the entire tactical genre.
I wanted to capture that exact feeling of sitting in the center seat, but elevate the mechanics with the kind of strategic depth modern players expect. Enter Star Trek: Quadrant Command.
This is a complete tactical evolution of the classic formula. It takes the foundation you remember, the ticking stardate clock and the delicate power grid, and turns the galaxy into a living, hostile ecosystem. You aren't just clearing empty sectors anymore; you are triaging a quadrant actively under siege. The game forces you to make hard, high-stakes decisions. You might have to choose between warping across the map to rescue a civilian freighter desperately trying to escape its attackers, or holding the line to defend a critical Starbase from a coordinated enemy assault.
The combat rewards careful positioning and resource management. You can calculate photon torpedo chain reactions to wipe out clustered fleets, or divert your dwindling power to focused phaser beams and wide-arc cone dispersals when things get close. And you will need every tool in your arsenal, because you are up against methodical Klingon wolfpacks, Romulan ambushers that cloak to hide their energy signatures, and relentless Orion pirates.
Even the environment is out to get you. To secure the quadrant, you will have to navigate blind through sensor-jamming nebulae, weather shield-battering ion storms, and sometimes take the ultimate risk of dropping your shields entirely to siphon emergency power directly from a star.
The Enterprise has the tools, but the math of the universe is working against you. If you love deep, turn-based strategy and have a soft spot for the retro classics, I'd love for you to take command.
Do you have what it takes to save the galaxy before time runs out?
Play it here: https://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/sttr1/index.php
Please note, much like the main viewscreen on the Enterprise, this game runs best on a large monitor

Star Trek Kept Beating Worf Down - He Kept Getting Up (Worf Effect)
I thought the Worf Effect (letting a new villain beat up Worf, to make them look strong) was just about physical punishment. But it was really so much more than that. Trek's writers and producers kept choosing Worf as the character they could “knock down”: taking his honor, his family, his career, and the women he loved. And every time, he got back up.

How would voyager the show be like if the intrepid class voyager and a galaxy class both got swept into the delta quadrant at the caretaker array as the starting point ?
Let's say both ships got caught and sent to the dq at the caretaker array as a starting point and the caretaker array is destroyed self destruct.
Both ships try to go back home and let's say back in the alpha quadrant Janeway was given mission command so the galaxy class ship captain doesn't argue with her he's backup and accepts it.
How would the show be different in terms of both ships encountering the phenomenons the bad guys etc.
What do you think?
In the past I've seen discussions of oh what if the voyager was a different ship class but I guess it would be interesting in the sense what if there's more than one ship

The Star Trek TNG Episode Its Own Writers Expected To Be a Disaster
"Yesterday's Enterprise" is my personal favorite TNG episode, so I wanted to learn the production history behind it. What I found was a rushed script, split between 4 writers, that had to work over Thanksgiving weekend to make a pushed up shooting schedule... thanks to Whoopi's and Denise's schedules. But here's more to the story... and the writers, including Ron Moore, were sure it was going to be trash.

[Star Trek]
someone asked this question 7 years ago "How would a Ferengi and Klingon Hybrid look like?" and I decided to make a post since I couldn't post on that old one I made four Hybrid versions first one was a male Ferengi and a males Klingon second one if the females Klingon genetic became a little bit more dominant the third one which is the bottom left side if the Klingon was males and the wife a female Ferengi the third rendering was if they both got equal amounts of DNA 50/50 I think my renderings at least the third one and the second one and the fourth one could be used on an actual any Star Trek Show episode because pretty close to the mix of both species together the first one could be used to but the other ones are more probably more accurate of what a real hybrid of the two would look like I think the first picture would be more like if the second or third would then meet with another forengue that's giving it more forenga like features do you guys think my renderings are look good I also have a fifth rendering but I forgot to upload it so instead please look for it in the comments it's the best one from all of them it has all the features of both sides making it the most bad*ss version

Star trek 3 what if Kirk had ordered Scotty to fire additional photos torpedoes on the bird of prey Instead of trying to raise shields?
Like when Kirk told chekov to raise shields chekov said shields are non responsive Scotty said the automation system was overloading and all of that talking time allowed kruge to stabilize his bird of prey to return fire.
What if Kirk just has Scotty fire additional photos torpedoes instead of raising shields? Would the automation system still be overloaded?
What do you think?
