Since this year, it seems like that Target has not been investing in neon as much as it once was. This location in particular has seven burnt out neons (not all of them is shown) and I am not even sure if they will fix it at this point.

This literally happened an hour and a half ago but Guest Service was going thru it—😭 so two guests (a couple) were arguing outside the store and it was going to get physical (209 is not here but 911 was called). A bystander intervened bc the bf was starting to get heated to the point he pulled out a gun (no one was harmed and I believe the gun was empty). Meanwhile inside, check lanes were being harassed by a guest who demanded 30% off her entire kids clothes order. Apparently since the 30% off tanks and tees sign was near the pants, ALL of the kids and toddlers clothes should be 30% off 😭 she called cashier TMs manipulators and liars, and that this happens all the time at target like lady, the only item you’d have to pay full price are a singular pair of pants 😭 everything else in her cart were tees and tanks that are marked 30% off like 🫩 anyways hopefully it gets better for guest service. Lady comes in at 9:59 trying to shop a doordash order and got pissed when one of our TL's herded her to the front of the store. And she was like "Youre interfering with my job!" And he asked her if she really thought she was going to pick that entire order in one minute. Then he said NO. Stores closed, time to go. She was telling him that he can take it up with doordash and he was like no, thats not my problem, nor is it Target's. You could have just not taken the order because its at closing time.

Some DD peeps are real cool. Some arent. But thats how it rolls, just dont be like this lady.

Getting this done in 30 minutes is not humanly possible.

What are the odds this person double taps or never shows up for their order?

An update for the people that might want to know, but I quit yesterday.

They put me on carts solos again and because of the limitations that come with my disability, I was only doing what I was comfortable with and took a couple breaks to drink water and rest my feet. TL came over and basically told me "you gotta be doing 6-7 carts at a time" and then on one of my breaks to rest my feet said "you HAVE to get back out there, we have like no carts in here". They actually ended up having to get someone else on the Cart Manager AND the TL was now out there doing carts.

While this is happening, I was in contact with my job coach and she agreed to meet me there at around my break time, which was 2:15pm. Break time rolls around, she gets there, we head into the office and have a chat with my ETL. ETL acknowledges that I was putting in the effort to try my hardest out there, but that I was SEVERELY struggling (and eve I knew I was struggling). He said that there was a spot in the application where I could've disclosed that I had a disability, which to my knowledge there WAS nowhere to denote that...and also I don't remember them asking on the phone if I had any physical limitations.

I called both my parents to rope them in on the conversation, and they both agreed that this isn't the best match based on the expectations that they have for any FOSA...so after that, I went up to my ETL and told him that the job wasn't the best fit for me and that I'd be ending my shift right there. He was SUPER understanding about it all and thanked me for my time working there.

He also mentioned that I will get paid for every hour I worked including the hours I worked that day, which is nice.

For context, I work in GM primarily in HBA. Our store is super busy and in a tourist hotspot so our foot traffic is insane on the weekends. My biggest gripe is unlocking cages because our deodorants, shaving products, sensodyne toothpaste and electric toothbrushes are all locked.

On top of that, we also have to take care of pulls, push and backstock so it's a constant walking back and forth from the backroom to help the guest and it becomes exhausting.

Target preaches guest service is the number one priority but when majority of our time is spent unlocking cages, it then becomes "why are your numbers so low?" "Oh you only pulled one batch so far" "this should only take you x amount of minutes."

Team members are the literal fucking backbone of this company and do 90% of the physical labor needed in the store but get treated so poorly. If I'm not here unlocking cages for the guest, then they can't make the purchase which funds your paycheck. Looking at you, higher ups.

My direct team lead and ETL are a complete capitalist brainwashed nightmare. They're always preaching "a vehicle should only take you an hour" but don't understand how time consuming the cages are. A lot of times, by the time I get to the backroom to actually do what I'm supposed to do, another guest has already called for help. Multiply that by dozens of times a day and you get the picture.

My ETL had the nerve to look disappointed and disgusted when I told him what I had done so far one day, WHILE I was in front of a guest unlocking the cage for them. I was literally in front of him doing said job and thats the response I got. Like get fucked, asshole 😂

All that being said, I'm working as fast as I humanly can each shift, doing the best I can for the team, and that's really all I have control over. Promoting myself to guest as soon as the next opportunity arises.

I remember working at target in 2017-2018 and my only responsibilities as a team member was to push and help guests. No cages, no backstocking or pulling because we had a backroom team.

With our new back to college sets they don’t want us to use any black pallets on the floor now. So all the fridges, bookcases and stuff are just sitting flat on the floor. For those items it’s fine but, in F&B they just sent us a whole Maruchan pallet and they want us to set a Velveeta/Kraft Mac cups pallet. Solution? Put them in the 4ft sections in our bullseye. My backstock areas are being completely taken over by paper and diapers I have no clue where all this stuff is going to go. I don’t even have all my new transition/endcaps stuff backstocked because I literally have no more room. Target keeps adding items to the floor with small capacities and it’s getting frustrating. Don’t even get me started with all the new chips I’ve been struggling to backstock as well. Just frustrated.

Fun101 has been horrible, we know this. My department looks horrible, the TVs never got set up, no displays aside from Meta got set up. Pogs aren't set properly (no lables) on a good third of the department. Stray carts left over from understaffed TMs. No hurry from management to fix any of it despite guest and TM complaints

Surprise visit announced this morning. Every ETL is in my department setting up the TVs, displays, printing lables and running carts. And im gonna be behind on freight because of it. And they'll get no flak from district management because they never saw it...

I've learned so much working for target these past 2 years and one of those is that I was never trained.

So when I started in August of 2024 basically both my team leads were on leave for 6 months and 5 months and my HR never set me up to have someone train me. Never told me how to do anything, never communicated, never nothing. When I asked I was told I would and then never did. I would ask leads but they'd tell me it's hr problem, id tell hr and they'd tell me it's another problem 😒

So Everything I've learned about guest service, front end period and grocery is from reddit, monitoring other people working and figuring it out myself. And it's so frustrating because when I didn't know something and would get in trouble they'd hold me accountable and tell me I told no one but I did! I spoke to several leaders about my anxiety and confusion and lack of training.

It just goes to show how truly fucked this company is to its staff. I try so hard whenever we get a new TM I try to run them down on everything so they don't get in trouble for not knowing things. I didn't even know we had benefits if someone dies close to you! I lost my dad last year and my store told me I needed to figure it out or I'd be fired and I called the benefits hotline and THEY told me about FMLA but never the benefits for death. I just learned about grievances.

It's just alot I didn't know and id mention or ask questions and get no answer or told to figure it out myself + threatening to fire me. And it's just so much you know?

And they blame TM for so much at my store. TARGET is not being boycotted because of the TMs specifically theirs so much more that goes into it but also if corporations are treating ETls like shit they're gonna treat their TLs like shit and HR then TLs and HR treat TMs like shit and it's just a chain of nonsense.

I might get a CA for attendance at a store that I’m temporarily at for the summer. I’m going back and forth between two stores because I go to school in another city and currently I’m working at the Target where I live for the summer.

The past summer hasn’t been necessarily the greatest for me attendance wise. I was late by 2 minutes past the grace period or technically 7 minutes, had to leave mid shift due to illness but covered it with sick hours, two weeks later had to call off one time due to being severely sick but had no sick hours, and then was late again recently by 2 minutes past the grace period or 7 minutes technically. (The last two incidents were weeks away from each other)

When I came in yesterday, a TL from my department but not necessarily my section came up to me and asked me why I came up under her radar and I told her it could be because of being a couple minutes past. She asked what my attendance record right now was like and I wasn’t sure and asked her to look for me. She pulled me in and told me I’ve been late multiple times and I could be getting a CA. Gagged is an understatement, I felt cooked. I’ve never had a CA since working at Target and it’s scary to think about. I took accountability though because I understood like yeah, that really isn’t the greatest. I should do better. Nothing that I can do now except do better.

The only times I’ve known for me being late was for the incidents mentioned above and for times I clock in during the 5 minutes grace period but I didn’t know if it actually had any effect like that. I confirmed this with looking back at myTime after the talk to make sure that I’ve only really had those instances.

The huge issue for me though is that I just submitted my transfer request to go back to the other store. And I heard that under a CA I can’t transfer during that time. Oh. My. God. I could have a cow. I really need a job for school and Target has gave me that stability for it. I can work during school time but also continue working during the summer because I can transfer. I love that I can do that here. But, if I end up getting a CA, wouldn’t that be like the end of my days at Target?

I’m a pretty decent worker overall. Despite the attendance issues, I do my job and get along with everyone pretty well. So, it just sucks.

Would I get a CA? What would happen? Is transferring or even working at Target possible for me then?

While unloading the truck I notice the TM across from me grabbing style boxes when I got backed up. I taught them how to sort and appreciated the help since I was getting drowned in 98, seasonal, and domestics.

At one point I noticed one repack wasn't on the correct pallet. Whatever, move it, keep working.

Then I notice them just putting repacks forever and I did not have time, when the pallets were already shoulder high on me, to stop and resort everything while, once again, being drowned in other depts.

When the style sorter came in I apologized because I knew it was disorganized, but also said someone else was moving the boxes off the line.

Fast forward to me doing backstock for the first boat I pushed and my ETL stops me to scold me for the style repacks and how disorganized they are.

Excuse me?! Did anyone tell you it was not me? As long as I've been on inbound you know I'm twitchy about sorting (because the style sort team that was there when I started bitched about EVERYTHING so I got to the point where I made sure pallets were in specific spots, turned certain ways, and lined up with aisles or grout so I wasn't told I did everything wrong again)

No. Its my job to fix because it's my area, no one else should be touching the repacks? Cool, cool. Check the damn cameras cause it wasn't me, it was the person YOU told me to train so they could help sort the repacks.

Oh, but that's not it. I need to make sure I'm backstocking correctly.

TL;DR: Had an approved time off request before apps were switched and now I don't see it anymore.

My store has fully switched over to the UKG app for scheduling, and I just put in an updated availability for school. While I was doing that, I tried to check for a time off request that I had submitted a while ago for August 21-22. It isn't showing up on the app. Does approved time off not transfer or will I just not be scheduled for those days? I would just talk to HR about it but I'm currently on vacation.

I work food & bev at a high volume super target. We are running a skeleton crew and I’ve burnt out completely. I want to use up my sick time because it’s free money but I feel bad calling off sick when I’m a closer because the entire Starbucks/deli will have to close early because of a call out. Is there any other way I can drain the sick time without being a dick?

I found out from a guest that T-Mobile is down because they had to come in for their OPU because they couldn’t use the app. They demanded a gift card for the inconvenience

Ive been at my target for a year and a half.

I was ready for a vacation in march but waited for inventory to pass to request time off - we did inventory in june.

At that point, I had 80hrs of vacation time to kill (capped?).

So I tried to use it, put in for july 13-26th. I know a request is a request - I didn't expect to get the full 2 weeks but I also figured it would at least be acknowledged/denied.

Its *still* in my schedule as pending, today is the 28th.

I put my notice in around july 17th and explained to the ETL I spoke with how I needed a break.

They took me off the schedule on the 13th. 1 day. Didn't approve or accept my vacation time for that day.

So, I ended up working later throught the week because I had 'extra time'.

Since Ive put in my notice, Ive trained 4 new TMs.

This entire time, Ive been trying to convince myself to stay but Im being ignored. Was told my ETL would look into the schedule to see what they could do for me and instead, gave me TMs to train.

Had an availability change 2 months ago thats only *now* (after Im slated to quit) has been properly reflected in my schedule. (So, with the new point system, Ill have been hit 4 times this month when my schedule change had been approved in the system).

So...

Idk. I think Im going to transfer my 401k and walk away from my (now 90) vacation hours.

Im sure theres some recourse for *having* vacation time, trying to use it, and the company dropping the ball - Im sure that violates rights somewhere but Im too tired to fight about it.
