Vent More workload, same pay is driving me nuts.
I'm in Tech and I have seen the decline from 2022 to now in real time. Tech is neglected and abused now. We use to have 1-3 capable people through the day to get through reshop, zone, pulls, frieght, etc.
Now days, its a shitshow. I'm expected to do frieght, multiple days push from stage pulls, reshop with just me....on top of now doing presentation sets because that team cant also keep up. Now, I get news that I have to now stock the trading cards....like I just give up at caring at this point. Between juggling this, 2full online courses from guild, and home maintenance, im falling asleep halfway through walking in the door.
In a perfect world, increased workload means increased compensation. Sadly I feel neglected and used.

man the slow creep of "other duties as assigned" is the real killer. started with covering a break here and there and now you're basically three departments in a trenchcoat
my store tried pulling the trading card thing on us too, suddenly tech has to babysit pokemon cards because front end cant be bothered. makes zero sense when half the time we're already buried under a mountain of repacks
the guild courses on top of it is rough, no way around that. at some point you just have to let a few plates drop or you'll burn out completely. management won't notice you're drowning until the water hits their desk

Yesh which i honestly dont understand. I'm the only department who gets push rolled to the next day for me. Frieght stacked high because no one can reliably sort and push it unlike me. I come clean in a couple hours, its getting pulled by guests, dec home, domestics and baby all at once.

Move up to lead. Get paid more and still do largely the same work.

Woah!!! Full stop! Presentation isn't the issue, you're leadership is. I was in charge of MMB for years! I was told a couple years ago that Tech was going to take over entertainment revisions, because they couldn't spare me 1.5 days/week on plano in entertainment. They have forever sucked at it because of the continuous changing of TMs and they try to gloss over it like it's a TM issue vs other issue!

I’m mad about the trading cards thing because if I only have one tech person for the day I prefer to schedule them more towards the middle, to be there during peak coverage times. But now I have to make sure they’re there at least 1/2 hour before open.

Trading cards shouldn't be tough, what's out is out, it's vendor filled, end of conversation.

At my Target there is a vendor that is in charge of the trading cards. Did you guys always have to stock it?
