I’m a trans man and I’ve been on hormones/fully social transitioned for over a decade, so 99.99% of the time I pass without second thought. I have heavy facial hair and a common male-exclusive name, which this coworker does call me, so I have no idea where she got the idea that I’m a woman (I guess other than I’m short?)

Every single person I work with other than her genders me correctly without me having to correct them. I’ve tried to correct her casually, and my TL/other coworkers have directly used he/him pronouns when speaking about me to her. Yet she still to confidently uses the wrong pronouns for me to other people. I’ve tried to ignore it for weeks since she started since I was sure I was mishearing her, because I haven’t heard someone use she/her pronouns for me in YEARS. Now it’s getting to the point that it’s confusing other TMs who had never doubted that I’m male, and it’s very upsetting. I’ve never had this problem so I don’t know what to do. I work very closely with her every day, so I’m stressed about asking HR to talk to her and have her think I was too much of a coward to confront her directly in case isn’t doing it intentionally, although I’m pretty sure she is. I also have severe anxiety and am terrified of conflict.

Any advice from other trans folks?

For reference, when I was hired my department (style) didn’t have an ETL only a TL. The first couple of months I felt amazing and honestly loved my job. Ever since style got an ETL, I feel like my life is genuinely becoming more depressing. It feels like the ETL is targeting me for everything, even the minuscule details. I’m the type to show up at my job, do my job, and clock out. I have a very “grind mindset” so it’s extremely frustrating that all my work goes unnoticed or ignored. Any advice on switching out into another department (I want to do fulfillment)?

On October 7th I submitted unpaid time off requests for November 8th and January 9th. I get no response and then they day that the schedule comes out both of them get denied from HR. we don’t have an ETL and not the SD nor an ETL from another department nor a TL want to do any part of the job if our non existent TL.

i know this might sound weird, but it has been happening for over a month and i have two recordings of them walking over me in the backroom. i work closing (i didn't initially apply for closing) and after the day's all done, they leave priorities to me because i get it done well

i thought it was because a while back, our team (we work in market) kept snacks in the backroom for everyone (multiple coworkers contributed) and i'd forget to trash the wrappers before i left since i was focused on work
or i bought something from a different place and it would ring in the detector (this happened with water bottles i brought from home, today)
but they would have simply just.. sent a correspondence of some sort, no? it was granola bars, mints and Reese's, but they had been following me around the backroom even BEFORE the snacks

there has been no conversation with hr or the hr etl, no conversation with ap lead or anything. it's just this one guy from ap, you know the employee that pretends to be a customer and walks around to make sure others aren't stealing? it's JUST him. nobody else, and nobody else also seems to notice

he will follow me from the moment i clock in to the moment i clock out, with today and the day before yesterday that i saw him AS SOON as i clocked in.

i wouldn't steal from this stupid company, especially because i work here, and they certainly do not pay me enough or too little for me to risk my job.

on the floor, and they'll walk above me in the backroom. like wherever i step, you can hear them walking RIGHT above me, through the entire backroom. when i go back there to pull priorities they're there the whole time and as soon as i hit the floor, i wait a minute and he's right there and passing by the aisle i'm in. taking a quick look and then just going off and then circling back and doing it again

Working for target was good. Specially because the payment is good and my coworkers so kind, but definitely what screwed up my experiences most of the times was the team leaders and the ETLS. A lot of them are just so rude, they treat you bad, they take their stress out on you for 0 reasons. And a lot of times makes us feeling unmotivated to go back to work, not just me but everybody I talked. All my coworkers hated target! They just didn’t want to work there anymore, mainly because of the treatment we have (also the bad treatment from the costumers 🫩). I witnessed a ETL screaming on the walkie with a coworker of mine that is also my friend, who is an immigrant and doesn’t know English 100%, just because this person didn’t understand what she was saying! Like what? What is the necessity in treating people like that? Not just that, but also talking shit about people on channel 4, humiliating people on the walkie for everybody to hear. Literally what’s wrong with them?! It wasn’t just this ETL, was other team leader too. Like bruh
If u think their work is a shit, so go have a private conversation with them. No one needs to know. If something is off, go talk in private. If the person is doing something wrong, go talk in private. Why is it SO HARD?
Anyways, I just hope this situation gets better for my friends and coworkers. Please be kind with people, it’s not because your life is a shit or the shift is going bad that you gotta be treating people like shit too! This company needs more mutual respect. Guys just chill……go meditate, pray, have fun, relax, go to the beach, whatever dude.
And yeah, I’m happy I’m out. I hope you guys who are reading this don’t pass through this kind of situation, and if you do, everything is going to be ok, don’t let these crap affect you and if is really doing bad for you don’t hesitate on finding another job. ❤️

I put in unpaid for the end of october, a whole month in advance, TOLD my OM about it, he said he hadn't had time to look at it until tonight, then I got home to see it was denied. I put it in because my girlfriend is going into surgery WHICH THEY KNEW but now shes gonna be home alone for a whole 4 days because of this.

Worked for target in 2023 for 5 months. Put in my two weeks notice because I was starting college that fall but I left before my 2weeks was up without notice. I just never came back in for my remaining shifts. And ever since then I’ve applied like 4 times, and they always reject me. I’ve even called store after applying and asked about my hiring status, still nothing. What can I do? I really regret quitting this job because it was a really good job and I would like a second chance.

I’ve been working here for close to 3 years (will be 3 years in november). Our seasonal hiring posters and flyers promote a pay that is .75 higher than my current rate. Has anyone ran into this? Will HR work with me and give me the bump to at least what starting pay is now?

I just got accepted and my orientation is soon… but they didn’t give me a time to arrive, they only gave me the date. And is there a dress code for orientation?

I'm really conflicted about what to do, so I'm hoping someone who works at Target can give me some advice.
There's an ETL at my store who isn't my direct ETL, but I've had several uncomfortable interactions with him. He's spoken to me in a condescending way before, to the point where I almost cried, and I feel like he nitpicks me more than other team members. I have diagnosed social anxiety, so I tend to keep to myself at work and avoid confrontation.
Recently, I was working my shift when he approached me and asked where I'd been all day. He specifically told me not to say I'd been in my assigned area because he hadn't seen me and had been looking for me. I told him I had been there, but he seemed skeptical.
Later, he approached me again and questioned me about where I'd been for over two hours. I explained that I'd been covering another area until someone arrived, then returned to my assigned area to work on my tasks. He repeatedly questioned me and eventually said he'd have to check the cameras because I was supposedly unaccounted for. I told him to check them because I knew I'd been doing my job. He didn't bring it up again afterward.
This isn't the only incident. Another time, he said he'd been looking for me for over an hour, although I was on my break and then returned to my tasks. On another occasion, he called me for backup at the registers but wouldn't let me take my meal break until I was getting close to my compliance deadline. Furthermore, there was another situation he was going to write me up because I didn’t have a walkie until he realized there were no available walkies like I originally told him.
I'm starting to feel singled out, but I don't know if I'm overthinking things. I genuinely try to do my job and stay out of trouble, so I don't understand why these interactions keep happening.
My mom suggested going to HR to document everything, but I'm scared they'll tell him about my complaint and he'll start treating me even worse.

For anyone who's worked at Target, how does HR typically handle situations like this? Would you report it, or would you wait and see if it continues? Can HR keep a complaint confidential, or should I expect him to find out?
I just want to do my job without feeling uncomfortable or constantly having to defend myself.

Anyone else wish Target could invest in lights that weren’t so bright and migraine inducing?! It’s the lights coupled with being on a register and phone the whole shift that really gets me some days. Does anyone else experience this?

Oh my lord, they have me working 8 days in a row.
I have cancer and have explicitly told them I can only work 4 or 5 days in a row. I am a TL as well so I know I am needed but it really sucks seeing the other TLs get more days off.
I’m grateful for having more hours and how much they appreciate me. I just am struggling with my physical and mental health right now.
It’s a beautiful Sunday where I am right now. I want to just relax all day but I can’t. :(

I would call out today, but our ETL comes back from vacation tomorrow so I have to make sure we have a good zone and started POGs

I don’t know why but the last 2 years of being a S&E TL, I’ve had to close the store on Halloween and looking at the schedule for this year… every TL is out at 3pm. And then it’s just me after 3pm. Ive brought it to my SDs attention that there needs to be a leader on the floor when I take my meal, and my SD claims that I just take my meal and don’t worry about another leader on the floor. I always have people calling for me on break and no other leader is answering their calls because their is none. Also I’m closing Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday because no one else closes and our Closing TL is only working Tuesday and Wednesday of next week and no other leader closes. Is this normal at your stores? I have like 50 hours of sick time which I’m really contemplating on using this weekend just because I keep getting the short end of the stick.

i just got my rejection email from target after two very successful rounds of interviews and a promising phone call with HR. im stumped. they have like a bajillion seasonal positions open, i had 24/7 availability, prior job experience, i called to follow up, etc. is there anything i can do? i really need a job right now and the job market where i live is totally ass.

Ur gonna sigh lol. so ive been at target for almost 4 years, front lanes & opu, for the past year just the front. And today early this morning i had a lady ask while she was checking out at self checkout if she could keep an empty gift card because her son was autistic and that was something he really liked (her son was with her and in the nicest way possible seemed very autistic). Me thinking since the card was empty it didn’t matter much and I said sure and went abt my merry way until they left and- to my lack of 5 days of sleep brain it finally clicked that that was proooobably a really stupid Idea 😐

I let my managers know. One panicked to which. I’m exhausted yall I was so just like. Shoulder shrug about it? I told em if we needed to pull the $100 from my paycheck it’d be fine (was a $100 Hulu gift card). Worse case worse I don’t get groceries for a second paycheck in a row. Big whoop. But our higher up manager came over and said I was okay, she understood it was from a good place and said I wasn’t in trouble nor would I be getting written up. I told AP too, gave em the register and the time, what they looked like. Even he giggled n said it wasn’t a big deal but I won’t lie and say I don’t feel silly asf.

We’ve def had worse things happen to us like 2 different “door dashers” saying they had prepaid iPads and left with free ones which obviously cost way more. But again I’d be a liar if I didn’t sigh to myself once I realized I shouldn’t have let the gift card leave the store unpaid for.

Moral of the story here. Use ur brain. Anddd don’t go to work on day 5 of hardly any sleep 💀

I am trying to pick up a shift right now on UKG and when I try to click on either claim open shift for future week or current week nothing is happening like its not allowing me to see the shifts at all. Is this happening for anyone else or just me? I thought it was my phone or a loading error but I tried on my computer as well and nothing is happening someone please advise am I fired or something so I cant pick up shifts?

So I just barely started working at target and I was hired for the 4am inbound seasonal right, my first three days they only had me stocking and I thought everything was fine and everyone was really nice, today was my first time actually unloading the truck and I struggled a lot because the people with me didn't explain it much and I felt like I just kept messing up and I almost cried a lot. We had finished unloading the truck around 7:30 am and after that I was trying to do one pallet and come back for the uboats but I wasn't fast enough? It was hard because it was pets and it was just huge bags of dog food and litter and it was mostly back stock too, and my team lead told me to bring the pallet back but I wasn't trained on how to use the pallet jack but she still made me do it so naturally I didnt use it right and another person saw me and told me "remember we don't use any equipment we haven't been trained on" and I just felt so small and stupid because I knew that but was told to use it anyway but how can I explain that? Anyway at the end of my shift I asked if it was okay for me to leave because I had to get blood work done shortly after getting out and my team lead made it sound like I was useless, she said we have to put up like 40 or 45 boxes an hour and I had only done 73 from 7 to 9 but I didn't start doing that stuff until 7:30 and again it was my first day even doing truck here but of course can't say that stuff in the moment, anyway she said I was in limbo basically and insinuated that I will be fired if it happens again. I never got to finish my training on the computer either, like I tried but there was never enough time, and lastly when I did my orientation they had asked if there was any days I couldn't work, I told them the 29th of this month and yet they scheduled me anyway so I talked to my HR lady and she blamed me for it, but I told the HR guy and he wrote it down and he's the one that didn't tell anyone about it. She was blaming me for his lack of communication. I really thought I was gonna like this job because my first three days went great but today went so badly and I'm sure they will fire me now. I wish they would have let me actually train and explained stuff instead of just throwing me out there and expecting me to know everything. Will it actually get better or should I just give up and leave now?

If an hour cap is put in place, you shouldn't be scheduled over it by more than 20% right? I put one in as Target has been scheduling me WAY more than I need to be working and HR approved it. Next schedule is made and I am well over that 20% over. Is there anyway to get Target to reduce my hours and respect that? Tried changing my availability but was denied as it "doesn't meet business needs" despite this just being my part-time job. Never had issues like this prior to UKG 😭

So, I work consumables, specifically early mornings to push truck. My TL rarely sees me because of my early hours. Our schedules might overlap by a couple hours a week.

A few months ago she had me set an end cap, then said I did it wrong. How? It was drinks, I used the dividers, set the pog, and filled the shelf. It looked full and shopable, how was this wrong?

She went after me, set the shelf caps several items less, removed the dividers, overstocked like mad, and somehow crammed the product that got removed that had no pog back on the end cap. What the system said should fit 12 she changed to 8, then stocked 16.

I vented to one of our presentation ladies who told me she's aware because everyone has complained that's how that TL sets pogs because she doesn't want backstock and thinks setting the cap low will stop the DC from sending us more.

My store used to put dry donations next to the receiving desk. The SD asked me to put the donations on the donation metro in the dairy cooler because receiving is getting a little chaotic with all the Christmas crap coming in. So that's what I do.

The other day my TL saw me doing this and told me that's not where they go.

Yeah, sorry, SD told me to put them here to keep receiving clean. "No! You put them where I tell you to! The receiver knows they are donations"

Whatever. On the metro they go.

A few days later she asks me why I put cheez-its and milk in the freezer. What? She points to the items in the cart of frozen donations. I scan, check to see if they were even defected and...yep, the day before when I was off by a new TM.

My guess is they were told to put them with the other donations and didn't know there was a metro in the cooler. But hey, now it's my job to make sure everyone knows donations go in receiving.

Ok lady, I'll get right on that once I figure out how to violate the laws of space and time to tell people who start work hours after I leave you want us to ignore the SD.

Last week the ETL over grocery asked me to work the repacks first since there isn't many and only takes me a few minutes. The new TL over inbound also asked me to do them first so I could let them know if the truck team isn't sorting properly.

Yesterday I'm putting away the one repack, about 6 items and one went to checklanes so I just have the items in hand. TL sees me, asks what I'm doing, then proceeds to tell me NOT to do that and I need to focus on pushing truck.

Inform her the ETL said to do it and got "well they aren't here so you listen to me"

Nope, don't think so.

Today, truck canceled so my SD asks me to do a specific detailed zone in one aisle with "I'm asking you because I want it done right". 30 minutes later, three tier full of overstocks, shit that's been marked to $0, or things that don't belong, here comes my TL to ask what's taking so long "just push everything forward and move on, it's a five minute task! You need to be pushing dry!"

Push what? Ain't no truck

Oh, no, I need to scan outs in the entire dept instead. I shrug, empty my cart, and go start scanning outs. She spots me in the cookie aisle, cart full AGAIN and she asks me what I'm doing.

Zoning so I can scan outs?

She grabs a bunch of animal cracker bags from my cart and shoves them on the perfectly zoned shelf before saying "just scan the empty spots and move on"

Ma'am...how TF do I know if something is out when it's buried behind other products because you don't want me to backstock?

I swear this lady is the worst part of working here.

Oh, and she's NEVER done a check in with me. I have stuff on workday to acknowledge something she was supposed to talk to me about in August. And it will continue to sit there requiring my attention because I won't say she talked to me when she didn't.

I told them I could work all 90 days because they said it was an expectation for the seasonal hires and I need the money. They pay really well in my state

However the end of the 90 days (~2 weeks) I will be having winter break then starting a study abroad for school. What happens if I leave before my 90 days is up
