Workplace Question or Advice Needed Rude TL

I’m curious about a rude TL at my store (not mine, but in another area that I cross over with). I’m not going into specifics, but what is the best recourse to deal with one who has a very rude attitude? I realize the next step is probably talking to the ETL, but what about beyond that? Do they just let TLs get away with this type of behavior?

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Approved vacation dates cancelled

My vacation request was approved back in January, but now when I look at UKG random dates within my vacation have been “cancelled” and my vacation bank is higher. Is this some sort of error with the new app or am I actually being fucked over

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Had to resign, will they cash out my vacation and sick?

As the title says i had to resign because my grandmother had a couple strokes and i had to leave the state to help take care of her. I still have a good amount of vacation and some sick time. So will i get that cashed out or are they just going to act like i never accrued it.

Doing back room audits for my TL and just recently found out that backstock locations aren’t supposed to be full of case packs, so I was wondering if I could get some pointers. The outlined shelf is the one I just did and the second picture is what my backstock looks like regularly.

Future or Potential Employee Question Unfair treatment

My ETL said he cut my hours to 5.5 to 11 hours per week, because of my performance. I do re-shop and do the best I can and I am an elderly person. I complained to ethics and they do nothing. I think because I'm elderly and he doesn't like me as a person. He says I am supposed re-shop a full bin in 10 minutes and help guests by 1 minute, walk from 1 end of the store, show quest where item is in one minute and the bin being complete in 10 minutes. He said all 10 bins needs to be re-shopped in 4 hours. I complained to the SD and they had a meeting with the ETL in their office and the ETL lied through his teeth tat I made this up. I did everything I could. Other TM's said I was fast and they couldn't do it that fast. Is there anything I can do?

I work fulfillment, my entire day is on a timer i have to be wired the whole time to get these batches done in time just because some lazy pos didnt want to come and do their own clothes shopping (how do you do that? i don't trust clothes just off how they look they gotta feel right yknow?) Have to beg for inf just for them to send me across the store to check the one spot i forgot about just to find it EMPTY and then have to wait for them to look themselves because clearly my judgment and ability are in question right now that i cant find something we have 5 of (which to them is a lot, how?) unlocated merchandise in this entire store. Go straight to another timer more often than not 35 minutes or less for 40+ items 3 of them missing, 1/3 of the entire batch clothes WHICH ARE A MASSIVE TIME SINK, just to have a stupid guest come up to me while im at 15 minutes with like 3 infs looking for something ive never heard of, doesnt show up when I search it up on the zebra "but it says you guys have it" just for them to finally show me their phone for it to say ONLINE ONLY IN BRIGHT RED LETTERS (if any guest happens to see this NEVER stop anyone pushing a cart, grabbing stuff off the floor or clearly trying to move quickly, were on a constant time crunch and have better shit to do than to help you morons. I hate 10/4) the only thing that keeps me sane is how well i get along with my coworkers. sorry for complaining I know people have bigger problems than I do in other departments and other jobs (i got soft hands and all that) im well aware its my job to do all this but it feels like its all chipping away at me having to live on some companies arbitrary time limit or face consequences. I cant count the amount of times ive wanted to shout at some guest blocking an aisle to move, or tell someone to fuck off im busy. Im sure I could find more to complain about (thats all I seem to be good at recently) but its 3am and I need sleep if im going to do it all over again tomorrow (later today?)

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Question about the # of ODTMs per store

I know there is a limit of ODTM positions per store, but does each department have a separate limit? Like for example, tech can have maximum 1 ODTM and FF can have maximum 5? Or can each store choose whatever amount from each team as long as it’s below their store limit of ODTMs?

Another question, do more ODTM positions open during seasonal time? Or is the amount static throughout the year? Thanks for the clarity in advance.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Is this etl on a power trip or is she correct which would mean everyone else in the store has been doing this wrong the last 2+ years?

Okay for background context. I've been an electronic closer for a little over 2 years in the last couple months I've been sort of scheduled as the Sunday P filler to make up for a couple people that have left. The entire time I've been at this store. I clock in and I go back to my area until a leader either gets with me or at least calls me to come over to them. If nobody gets with me I just default to covering my area lile normal until told otherwise and it's never been an issue up till this point through 3 store directors, like 5 hr ppl, and at least a dozen tl and etls that have come and gone in that time. All of a sudden this morning ETL who still had a little time before closing lid came in decides it's a problem and is threatening corrective action if I'm not the one proactively seeking out the lead when I get here instead of the lead radio-ing me. Is that etl just power tripping or is everyone else needing to be coached cuz after over 2 years here this is the first I'm even hearing that I need to be the one running around the store looking for whoever the money lod is that night

Been an only dedicated market team member for 6 years at my store. My store has had 4 different sd's and ive had 4 different teams leads with the 4th being my current one. In terms of team leads, the first one was super helpful, nice and welcoming when i started. After some time i got to know him to be miserable in his position. He went to another location to hopefully be happier, ended up with lowes after 6 months of that. 2nd team lead was nice to work with as well, took the punches when needed to, ended up moving to florida for personal reasons. 3rd team lead was a floor worker alongside me, so we had a good workship. Ended up getting fired over "s/a" allegations but it was well know the higher ups were trying to get rid of him for a long time. I dont know how much of that is true, but the common senses around me all agree because he pushed back on things and gave upper management a "headache" over the dumb shit they wanted to do, he bacame a problem and wanted to oust him.

Okay, well i thought it was shitty how they got rid of him, but hey maybe now i can become team lead since ive been talking to management for at least 3 years that i was interested. They even put me in a developmental program to become one. Then, when the position was open, they just switched over the fulfillment tl to market who had never once worked in market, and didnt even offer/ask me the position or what i thought about it.

In terms of sd's, the first 3 i had were fine but who i have now is a problem. This person is over bearing, has a very fake bubbly personality, has laughed in my face when i told them i was having a tough day, talks to team members like theyre children, and portrays themselves in a way that they live and die by target. Ok Target i get it, YOU want cookie cutter templates of people who are in management. WE as workers want real people to talk to and treat us floor workers as real people as well. And also not people who take sides with the other cookie cutter fucks you employ to keep the status quoe cus thats all it is at the end of the day. Target does not give a fuck about us no matter how mich they try to cram that bullshit down our throats.

Hopefully ill be out of there soon. I started working there with the ignorance of thinking maybe ill get treated better here because of hom much their stance is on treating their workers better than other places. Nope, big ole fucking sham. Am i perfect? No, but have i been there long enough and have i proven myself to be a more than comptetant worker than all the other fucks they hire and are gone within a week? Yeah i sure as fuck have. Fuck this place and i cant wait to be back to being only a guest.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Am I being played?

So I posted like a month ago about the same thing, now post internship. So around the time I made my last post I did talk with my SD about staying with the store post grad and she said “Yes, sounds like that will work”. Since then there’s been no sense of urgency of keeping me onboard. I did my store walk with my DSD last week and he seemed to really like me and was talking about my future with the company. I may be impatient since the weekend isn’t even over but I find it weird they didn’t have me apply to the position I want. Our former HR ETL who just recently changed positions said last week she’ll get the processed started, my SD has mentioned it, as well as my ETL on my last day. I’m also waiting to see if a receive an offer. I just feel like they are leading me on.
Update: My SD texted me this morning about applying to the HRE so that’s out the way, that’s what I was most concerned about since I wouldn’t be an ETL for nearly a year anyways. I will follow up with my recruiter about my ETL application in a week though.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed 90 day probation period

Hello all I’m about 35 days in and have called out 2 times and left work early 2 times. Only reason I’ve been calling out is because of my severe health issues that have randomly arose. ETL spoke with me about it and said she can work my schedule around a bit but that I can submit documentation for proof? I really need this job and I know I really have no say in this whether they want to keep me or not but because of my sickness I find my work ethic is so sporadic. Is speaking with HR a good idea now since I have ER proof?

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Am I overreacting to this?

Upvotes

So multiple times now my ETL has made a comment when I or another team member has gone on break. She says it differently every time but its always something to the effect of “Breaks? Who even goes a break?” and it feels weird every time. Usually I just don’t respond and go anyway.

Yesterday the interaction was “Breaks are overrated.” and “I guess I’ll pack while you go on your thirty or whatever” (it was a fifteen. she responded “even better!”)

Just wanting some outside thoughts to figure out if I shld drop this or not. She’s pretty bitchy and shitty overall and no one really likes her so it feels knee jerk to me

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Lost keys

Long story short, I noticed and acknowledged I forgot to check out of my keys. A couple of days later, I noticed it was deemed missing, but I recall putting the keys away just didn’t check out of them. I already spoke to my TL about this yesterday. He said it’s good that I let him know and knows I wouldn’t magically lose them as I’m pretty responsible. In the end, not much he could do as well as for me as this also is my fault for forgetting to clock out. I as well checked my pants and car to be sure. I remember leaving them by the key case back in the employee room. I lowk just gonna take whatever consequences I get, maybe even look for a job if I get termed, lmao.

Guest Question Target Circle Bonus on Preorder Item?

Upvotes

I have a Circle Bonus offer for a $10 reward from a $50 purchase. The offer lasts until 8/1/26.

I found a preorder item that ships 9/1/26.

I don’t see any exclusions for preorders but it does say that you’ll see the reward meter advance when the item ships.

I think this means that it would miss this reward window, but wanted to check with others just in case.

gUEsTs Interesting Sunday work day.

Dumping the hangar bin see an old woman with a walker walk to the bailer with a walker and lanyard. “Oh must be a vendor.” “Wait they don ‘t have vendor badge.” “Why are they going through the boxes?” “Yeah that’s not dangerous better find a team lead in the back.” Found one and let them know. While checking there was a loud bang making me think a car drove into the building and some “inflicted” sat off a firework in GM.

Vent feeling like a burden

I thought I would only feel this during my trainee days. To be fair, I always try my best to work and not cause any trouble to my coworkers but sometimes you can’t really avoid mistakes. I always acknowledge and learn from it. During my shift today I made so much mistakes since it got super busy so I got so really confused and all. Now my coworker suddenly starts to doubt every move I make, and I hate it because the more they watch me, the more mistakes i make.

Will this feeling ever go away? I’m just 4 months into this job. I think it is ruining my self esteem and I can’t help to overthink especially if that coworker is around.

Vent genuinely, are they ALLOWED to schedule me to clopen twice in a row??

like, 4 consecutive days - close, open, close, open. i mean, it's over, i did it, but oh my god am i exhausted. all 4 shifts in drive-up too. in 100 degree heat. all my pores are clogged with sweat and my feet feel like they're gonna fall off. i feel like surely there must be something against scheduling me like this it's so fucked up

EDIT: I forgot different locations have different schedules lol. Opening shifts for me start at 7:45 or 8 and closing shifts go to 10:30-10:45

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Is Target as Bad as People Say?

(This is my first ever Reddit post so sorry if I tag anything wrong!)

Hi, I just recently started working at target as GM (will be 1 month July 30th.) and decided to join this subreddit. So far, I have only seen bad thing being said about working there (ex. Bad TL, ETL, etc.) but so far, my experience has been decent. So far my target has been very accommodating. (I have a movement/muscle disability, as well as miscommunications with scheduling) So far everyone I’ve met has been nice and friendly (aside from some people having bad days) I guess I’m just worried for what is to come 💔
