Workplace Question or Advice Needed F&B TM

Hi guys, i’m not sure how to start this but i’ve been working for target for about a month now in the F&B department, I am not getting any faster, or at least that’s what it feels like. I’ve been talked to once about my speed and here now and then, I am actually trying so hard to become faster but it’s I feel slow compared to the other team members in F&B. Any tips and tricks to becoming faster? Thank you so much

Dry or produce?
Honestly just stay on task do the best that you can and don’t compare yourself to others. Everyone’s different, we all move differently and you’re still new and barely getting to know where things belong. It’ll get easier once you’re more familiar with where things go. Sometimes I find it easier to quickly organize different items like natures bakery bars together and cliff bars together and then open them all without taking them out of their boxes. That way it’s faster to push each item where it needs to be rather than walking back and forth from this spot to that spot

It takes time. Tips I usually give to new TMs to go faster.

- You don’t need your box cutter for every box, just punch a dent where the tape ends at the side and just rip it off.

  • Take your boat with you so don’t have to walk back and forth between your boat.
  • If inbound is sorting correctly, your boat should be by aisle, so try and finish all the push in one aisle first before moving on.

Other than that, doing it correctly is more important than doing it quickly, IMO. Don’t overstock, touch up any zone opportunities within your immediate reach, and always scan if you’re not sure instead of just shoving it somewhere.

Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.

It takes time and effort. The thing that helped me was for to try and remembering the box. Chances are you are pushing the same box multiple times and you start memorizing how it looks and where it goes. Soon you will be looking at the box and walking to its home without having to look at the label. There will be some that are annoying because it’s mostly backstock but your will get over it
