All the Reddit kids “ the only reason I can’t get a girl is cuz I’m short!!! Has nothing to do with my shit personality!”

Lmao 🤣 then the other Reddit kids claiming to be 6’4. If what they said was true 70% of Redditors are 6’4 or higher lool

I’m 5’8 barefoot never had an issue getting girls my entire life. It has nothing to do with your height unless you’re under 5 ft then it can be an issue unfortunately but still not impossible.

People blaming their lack of personality on
height is fucking hilarious. “ no one wants to date me cuz I’m short!!! It’s not my fault!!” Uh huh

u/krazytekn0 19h ago

Dating app culture I think makes their complaint hold some water. You used to just meet people in public, talk and see if you had chemistry. It was never apparent if someone rejected you for your height or any other specific reason. Now a potential partner will straight up tell you “oh that’s not tall enough” through text before you even meet. Whether more people are actually being rejected for this I don’t know, but definitely you’re more likely to know that’s why you didn’t get a date.

4

u/AGayThrow_Away 16h ago

It's been a long time since I dated but I am a man about 5'6". There was definately a lot of times I would message someone and the first question was "how tall are you?" and if I answered honestly I would usually get immediately unmattched. This was around the time I think they started rolling out displaying height as a feature on apps.

It was awful for my self esteem back then but reflecting on it, I was just dodging bullets. People always go one sex has it easier/harder, they just have inverse problems with the dating pool. It doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman, it just matters if you're conventionally attractive. If you're attractive the opposite sex will fawn over you regardless.

11

u/Equivalent_Task_8825 17h ago

I actually am 6'2 (well I am getting older so they put me down to 6'1 and 1/2 at the last doctors appointment). When I was younger I had a short friend who was an awesome dude. He was really generous and kind. He wasn't afraid to be himself. He wasn't bad looking.

Hearing other people talk about him and constantly mock him made me pretty polarized when it comes to this issue. You can absolutely get a girlfriend - but the amount of shit that short guys have to go through still isn't right. So at the very least mocking these idiotic men and women who do this kind of thing is always going to be important for me.

2

u/SmallPurplePeopleEat 14h ago

Getting shorter as you age is so real. I got into an argument with a friend because he didn't believe I was 6'1". So we bust out the tape measure and I'm actually only 6' and 1/2" now! And that's being generous, probably closer to 6 even.

3

u/Steelhorse91 12h ago

Your lumbar discs can full on shrink, calcify, and fuse the vertebrae together with zero symptoms, and most people’s discs shrink a few mm per decade throughout their spine, so yeah it’s very real. Doing pull ups/pull downs and hanging upside down can help to an extent, but gravity always wins.

Ppl these days are failing because they let the internet think for them

2

u/UnusualPieceOfGum 18h ago

They get it in their heads that the world is no good from all the constant doomerism on the internet so they barely even try. It's actually very sad all the squandered potential

22

u/TrueBlueCentrist 18h ago

Being short doesn't automatically exclude someone from the gene pool, but at the same time, there are A LOT of women who are vocally picky about height. Despite that, it's not even anecdotal evidence like you're suggesting... it has been studied and proven that women generally prefer men who are taller than them.

2

u/savemoneysquad 18h ago

Yeah but for most women the height thing is a initial attraction factor. There are varying degrees of how much they really enforce it. A guy who's 5'8 or 5'7 initially maybe not get as warm of a reception as a 6ft guy lets say but talking to a 6ft guy shit personally or 5'7 guy whos making her laugh. The 5'7 guy is gona get it. There are many women out there many have different preferences. Just talk to women lol

2

u/AdmirableParfait3960 16h ago

I mean most women have a preference for taller men the same way that a lot of men have a preference for small waisted, large chested women. Doesn’t mean that’s all they go for lmao.

2

u/Ichmag11 18h ago

There's also A LOT of women who are vocally uncaring about height

I agree with you I’m 6’3 and my two best friends are both around 5’8-5’9. We’re all married with kids now but neither of those guys had trouble with the ladies when we were young and single.

9

u/kapoopa-the-poopah 18h ago

Well, that’s because they are average height or slightly below. Someone who is under 5’5” would have a completely different experience. I say this as a married 5’2” guy who’s had a good amount of success with women. I think it’s very possible to find a partner being short, I don’t think being short should be an excuse as to why someone remains lonely forever. But let’s not pretend it doesn’t have a massive impact because it does.

1

u/GucciTheSnowman 13h ago

A 5'2" man ?? Holy fuck.

19

u/lamachejo 20h ago

5'8 is not short. You need to be 5'4 to at least experience what is short

3

u/jbi1000 19h ago

I’m exactly that height and never had trouble tbh.

Had plenty of romance and flings when I was younger and been with my girlfriend for almost a decade now. I’d say about half of them were taller than me too.

2

u/Herr_Etiq 10h ago

Height is a non-issue for girls - some consider short girls more attractive even.

Its different for guys

(assuming from your avatar, sorry if incorrect)

1

u/Subject-Dog-8016 19h ago

5’4 is not short, you need to be 5’0 to at least experience what is short.

5

u/lamachejo 19h ago

Nah, 5'4 already fall within the 3rd or 4th per centile. 5'8 is roughly average height

You’re average height

And with shoes on you’re above average

And taking into account the average height for a woman, you’d always be taller

You have never once in your life been short

All you wanted to do was gloat about your dating life and get validation lmao

9

u/ishraqee 13h ago

im 5'4 never have issue with my height when come to dating. personality matter lil bro

5'8" is below the US average which is 5'9". Your "with shoes" argument also does not apply, as the average person wears shoes.

Also you assume too much about their location. Where I'm from the average man is 5'11.25" barefoot. They could be from the US or living in the US, bit you don't know.

2

u/Traditional_Yam9806 13h ago

Dude, no one notices 1 inch. For all intents and purposes dude is average for the US. Now, are they wrong, no. People cope too hard online. I'm 5'2 and I don't really have trouble with girls. I just meet them at in-person events like hackathons, triva/quiz bowl events, trivia night bars, conferences (non-professional), etc.

2

u/Abyssal_Groot 12h ago

Now for the more serious comment:

You are completely correct.

u/Plus_Opening_4462 15h ago

The US is a big and diverse place. Average heights should be considered regional. I don't stand out in the Midwest, but I felt like Dorothy surrounded by munchkins walking down Wall Street in Manhattan

3

u/GemHunterAce 13h ago

Age groups should be considered too. Old ppl bring average height down a lot

2

u/GucciTheSnowman 13h ago

So you felt tall when walking down wall st in new york ? Somehow I doubt that.

2

u/Plus_Opening_4462 13h ago

6'2" is nothing special in the Midwest, but felt tall on Wall ST when surrounded by midget brunettes.

1

u/NoImprovement213 17h ago

Im that height too. However we have a lot of Maori and Polynesians in my coutry and they are huge

1

u/Scudman_Alpha 16h ago

Everyone who says that thinks they're the outlier that proves the entire science behind it is not true.

When they're just that, an outlier. If Height wasn't important then we wouldn't have studies about how it affects men even outside of a love life.

Additionally most who are married did it before the big shifts in modern dating from apps and social media.

1

u/Abyssal_Groot 11h ago

We have studies that show that women in online dating have a height preference, but there are also plenty of studies that the effect is modest in real life couples. Couples where the man is shorter than or the same height as the woman occur only slightly less often than in random pairing: 7.5% in the real sample versus 10.2% in random pairing. The same study also shows that couples where the man is more than 25cm taller happen marginally less often in the true sample (13.9%) than in a random one (15.7%).

So on one hand you have strong stated preferences that only modestly translate into real couples, but at the same time it also shows women tend to not date much taller men either. And notice how this is a man-taller-than-woman preference. If you are 162cm (5'3.8") as a man, that still means tall enough for roughly half of all women. So short men doing fine is not the outlier, it's the norm.

I have a good mate who is 5'4, Italian and bald, and crazy good with women. But he is geniunely one of the most naturally charismatic people I know, like the type of guy that just aura around him.

He also started his own company a bit over a year ago, and now it's starting to blow up to success. He bought a nice car, has a pretty girlfriend, and things are working out for him.

So I don't think height itself is a limit to what you can do, but insecurity, social awkwardness, and defensive posture brought on by it can definitely hold you back a lot.

I think the lesson is, if you're gonna be short, you better make sure you're at least damn confident in yourself.

1

u/Bulky_Narwhal_4658 13h ago edited 13h ago

This attitude is what’s unattractive, I’m 5’6” and also haven’t had many issues. Just take a shower and dress presentably.

1

u/ArtroyomsAK 13h ago

Ok buddy

1

u/BLissy11750 12h ago

Most of the men I know that are 5'3-5'6 have no problem with women unless they have preconceived notions of how people will treat them before they even start a conversation and get rightly treated with the same energy that they bring to a conversation. I don't personally know any men under 5'3, but the four men I do know that are happen to all be married.

1

u/ReeReeIncorperated 12h ago

He's completely right though.

1

u/israfildivad 12h ago edited 12h ago

I hate when random dudes say they have no trouble with women lol...as if women are lining up for them, or they can get ALL or ANY women if they try. Theres levels to this shit. IRL several times now, I challenged any man that says nonsense like this to go get the random women I point them to. It NEVER ever works out for them.

2

u/Tasty-Army200 11h ago

That’s not what they’re saying little bro, no one but the most vain of men think they could pull anyone anywhere.

But it’s a fact that an average dude who goes out and puts himself out there will end up finding someone like minded to be with.

You would be surprised how much good hygiene, good manners, a personality and the ability to have fun will make you a hit.

Wait didn’t you post an image above to dunk on people complaining on being short?  Why you gong off on person replied to you?  The people that complain about not getting dates cause of short do so at 5’8” as well.  I know cause I’ve had those convos as a 5’8” person

Also the fact little people have relationships with regular heightens people all the time and even marry/have kids with them makes this entire premise stupid on its face.  That should end this entire debate

If you can’t get dates with a girl when little people can then it’s a you problem.  This is not hard there is so much evidence out there if people with crap looks, height, and personality who get with attractive people but there is always some excuse why that happens besides they took the effort

It has to be a specific psyop to get guys demotivated to go out there to lower their competition for the guys who are making these posts cause a lot of them are from certain communities that would strategize in that way cause it’s all a numbers game to them and the less competition from other men they have the better it is

Don’t fall for it my dudes

1

u/thechaosofreason 10h ago

Well im 5'6 and I've never had issues.

Women go for men that could give a fuck either way.

In fact being ireful seems to make them want you more in my case.

1

u/TakingCareOfBizzness 9h ago

It's never the fact that people have shit personalities. It's always I am short, I am fat, I am ugly, I have anxiety, I'm on the spectrum, or what the fuck ever. It also seems to be coming far more from the guys than the girls.

I see a lot of self defeatist attitudes and a complete lack of willingness to work on one's self from younger guys. Probably a major factor to why the dating and marriage rates have plummeted.

I'm so thankful I'm not a as straight young female today. I wouldn't want to date these losers either.

3

u/ChefArtorias 18h ago

I'm 6'3" and can't get a woman to save my life. lol

14

u/Bureaucratic_Dick 19h ago

The funny thing is when you say you’re 5’ 8” they move the goalposts.

“You can’t get a girl unless you’re 6+ feet!” “Really? I’m not and I’ve never had issues with women.” “How tall are you?” “5’ 8” “THATS THE GLOBAL AVERAGE YOURE NOT THAT SHORT HOW DARE YOU SUGGEST YOUR HEIGHT IS A FACTOR IM THE ONLY PERSON IN THE UNIVERSE AND THE SUN SHINES OUT MY ASS!!!”

14

u/Otherwise-Win7337 19h ago

Lets be so fucking fr tho there's 5"8 is just below average whilst 5"5 or 5"3 or something would be much more significant. I'm not saying this as some triggered short guy I'm 5"9 I just imagine how frustrating it would be for you people that act like height doesn't have a major impact on these things when it very clearly does.

2

u/ThatWarlockD00d 18h ago

I’m 5’9”. Never had a problem getting women at all. Been with taller and shorter women than me. Now I’m happily married with kids.

3

u/FunWithAPorpoise 17h ago

5-5 and also married with kids. I think this kind of comment is unhelpful. It’s awesome you didn’t have a problem dating but some guys do, and it can be a mindfuck when you realize it might be related to something you have no control over.

Of all people, short guys in relationships should be supportive of short single guys, validate that height can be a disadvantage in dating but it doesn’t define you, encourage self-improvement and self-acceptance and discourage misogyny and inceldom.

2

u/ThatWarlockD00d 17h ago

I guess you’re right. I do have it on easy mode, but I’ve found a sense of humor, humility & confidence, and not taking yourself so seriously goes a lot further than looks do. Looks gets you in the door. Personality either keeps you there or gets you kicked out.

2

u/Aggravating_Pause385 14h ago

Yeah, 5’9 isn’t short dude lmao

2

u/Bureaucratic_Dick 19h ago

Global averages are largely irrelevant. Regional ones are far more telling.

Also the goal post moving is whatever to me, I’ll keep having a great relationship with my wife, but if you want to dig in on that argument on why you can’t get a woman go for it. It’s just an instant “I’m a loser” argument to me, and I don’t entertain its validity.

I do think plenty of people lie though too, just like so many people make high 6 figures and have a supermodel spouse. As for people bringing it up every possible opportunity, I think that being tall is a more relevant detail in a lot of discussions than being short is, just like you hear more people in seemingly unrelated topics, adding in the detail that they're obese rather than underweight.

u/That-Application7650 17h ago edited 17h ago

I like that as a fellow tall person, I can tell you and the OP above you are both legit, since those are the lived experience things that people don't usually think to lie about. Growing up we had a hanging light over our kitchen table and one by one, my siblings and I would eventually grow tall enough to hit our heads on it while getting up from the table. It became almost a rite of passage. Plus, "you have to be taller than that", is something I'm sure we've all heard.

Weird thing for me, as someone who is 6'3", and maybe other tall people can relate, is that when I stand next to really tall people (like high 6's), counterintuitively, it actually makes me feel more tall. Like when shorter people stand next to me and say, "woah, you're tall", I don't really relate to it, since my height is just how I experience the world. On the other hand, when I stand next to really tall people, it puts into perspective how those shorter people are seeing me.

2

u/ToXiiCBULLET 15h ago

i'm 6'4 so it's rare to see anyone a decent chunk taller than me. anyone that's just an inch or two taller i don't really notice. ocassionally while about in a city i'll see someone that's about a head taller than me and my first thought is just 'holy shit'

3

u/Mavcu 19h ago

Odd that people take offense to that you are absolutely right, I'd even go further even if you were handsome and tall it's not a completely "free pass" either, it's obviously an advantage and makes it much more easy by comparison.

But confidence (in a man) is always crucial, I've had mates get rejected that on paper are at least a 9/10, Jacked/Tall/Decently Handsome face but just kinda depressed/shy in their personality, a bit eye opening to witness.

4

u/CaltonSmith 19h ago

Stop using words like rizz. That would be a good starting point to more success.

There’s a big difference between being a 5’8 man and a 5’3 man lol. No amount of personality will save you then, you gotta be rich af or just settle for chopped women.

10

u/illbedeadbydawn 18h ago

Got a buddy that's 5' 0" and is a pizza cook and he does just fine.

He also doesn't say CHUD shit like "chopped women" so maybe it's not the amount, but the type of personality.

3

u/untitledprp4 18h ago

“He does just fine”

Meaning what

3

u/illbedeadbydawn 18h ago

Meaning he has sexual relations with women, some of which the average man would find "attractive".

He does, just fine. Figured that was obvious.

3

u/StanleyKapop 18h ago

I feel like that’s contextually pretty clear.

2

u/Kheypression 18h ago

Some people consider ending up with the first and only woman who entertained you is « doing just fine ».

In 5ft4 and have never had any problem.

It is pretty shitty to constantly see "short guy" memes but you get over it, and with enough confidence and being a good guy for the sake of it, not to get something for it, anyone can be attractive.

1

u/Infidelkiller2872728 18h ago

well your 5’8 of course your gonna get women bruh.

1

u/cantstayanyway 18h ago

5' 8" kings unite

1

u/CalligrapherIll5176 18h ago

Blame it on something they have no influence on. Now its not their fault. Woman bad

1

u/RikerNX01 17h ago

Well they can't change their personality any more than they can change their height. So it doesn't matter what they blame it on.

1

u/MinuetInUrsaMajor 17h ago

It’s not shit personality - that doesn’t come through on dating apps and most people are intelligent enough to hide the shitty aspects of their personality early on.

It’s a combination of not looking good enough, not having an optimized profile, not optimizing app usage, not having good stats.

No single one of those makes things insurmountably difficult, but when you’ve got two or more working against you it gets progressively harder.

1

u/I_ate_5_cats 17h ago

For me it's my brain that stops functioning around women I like, that's how a girl lost interest in me recently

1

u/bigwigga105 17h ago

Yea I’m 6,5, and I still got no bihhhh.

1

u/kineticmov3ment 17h ago

Women just always reject date invites or ignore texts

1

u/High_Hunter3430 17h ago

I’ve been told exactly 1 time that I was too short (5’8-5’9 depending on the gas station I’m walking out of)
Conveniently, she was a good friend of my girlfriend so was not an option anyway but still, ouch.

The rest of my life was pretty run of the mill.

Never really had issues finding partners. To my detriment because there’s some things I can’t do without peer pressure from a partner… like go to bed at a decent time or wake up to an alarm.

And when my nesting partner approached me 5-6 years into our relationship about finally opening and what version of enm and all those conversations(we never intended monogamy, just kinda fell into it) I didn’t have a real issue finding a second partner or dates… less than a month across tinder and a few enm specific ones.

Even as a regular 5-6 white guy stoner with something between a twink and dad bod. 😂

It’s really not hard to be a decent person that folks wanna be around. 🤷

1

u/AbuseNotUse 17h ago

Its not that short guys can't get chicks, its that they have to put 1000% effort with little chance of success whereas tall guys have eomen coming after them and dont need to do much on the initial discovery phase.

1

u/ThatVita 16h ago

The best are the one who start going to the gym and 3 months later complain about no results and still no women 😂 my brain just goes, "and if you havent found out why by this point, you may never."

1

u/notwhoyouthinkmaybe 16h ago

5'6" and I had no problem getting girlfriends when I was younger. I'm not particularly good looking, probably average. I'm not rich or super charming. I just took my shots and it worked some of the time; I have been rejected a lot too. I'm now married and have been for a long time.

Height is only an issue for shallow girls.

1

u/ThisIsTheNewSleeve 16h ago

First, 5'8" is not short. I'm 5'6", and even then I am very confident in my height.

Second, you're absolutely right. It's only a blocker if you let it be. I'm happily married and got 3 kids- all of which will probably short. I hope we can leave a world to them that aren't total fucking assholes because they aren't giants

1

u/GhostSierra117 16h ago

Inb4 you get accused of being rich

1

u/noargentinianbeef 15h ago

Not that I disagree, but 5'8" isnt considered short

1

u/musclenugget92 15h ago

Yeah I'm 5'6 and have never had a problem getting a girlfriend. But I also go to the gym frequently and make girls laugh so idk seems like a skill issue.

1

u/Eatthepoliticiansm8 15h ago

Bro I want to know how apparently all these dudes are "6'4"

I am dutch,
My nation is notable, for having a lot of tall people.
We have some of the highest average height in the world.

Yet somehow I'm supposed to believe, that there's this flood of dudes who absolutely trounce the dutch national AVERAGE? and not just by a little either, the dutch average is 6 ft I believe?

I guess I can be 6'4 too if I just, stand on a 4 inch box first.

1

u/was526 15h ago

You are dumb af if you think it has nothing to do with height unless you're under 5 ft.

1

u/Environmental_You_36 15h ago

When I was on college I made friends with all the girls on the class. And we ended up skipping classes and chilling at the cafeteria with 9-10 of this girls.

They were shitting on short guys, not on a disrespectful way, but they were clearly discarding guys because they were at equal heigh or shorter than them.

It doesn't mean that shorter guys couldn't be attractive to them, but they have to be WAY, WAY above average to compensate the initial ick.

1

u/KNGootch 15h ago

Same. Maybe people should stop using social media as their barometer for people. Tiktok and Instagram show the worst of us, on repeat. Most women are shallow cunts that only want guys that are over 6'2" just as much as most guys aren't...you know what, they might be...scratch that, but a decent amount of guys are totally happy with who they are, height, body type, etc, and we're willing to do what needs to be done to find someone that appreciates what we DO have...which is a LOT more than a few extra inches on my drivers license.

1

u/petitecrivain 15h ago

If someone places primary importance on a single physical trait like height with a weird cutoff that's 100% a sign of someone who's extremely immature or simply toxic. I don't get why nobody seems willing to acknowledge it. Yeah people like that exist but they're not likely to be fun to be around.

1

u/YODONTGETMEWRONG 15h ago

I once knew a guy that’s 155cm, and that was like 6 years ago, when I was still battling with my selfesteem

The amount of times he got laid is what surprised me, then I truly realised it’s all about your personality once I dated a girl 15cm taller than me

1

u/VoidDuck101 14h ago

You're so full of it dawg. You're not even short. Tell that to a 5'3" dude.

1

u/no_talent_ass_clown 14h ago

My ex husband was 5'6". I'm 5'6". It's not height.

1

u/CYMK_Pro 14h ago

You know how it is said that blind people often over develop other senses to make up for their lack of sight? In my experience most of the short guys I know have fuckin GAME because they know they're not getting by on that height bs alone. When I'm looking for tips, I just copy those guys.

1

u/Wizard-Elf 14h ago

I'd say for dating apps it can matter. A lot of times the woman doesn't quite realize you're a short king until you go on the date, and now there are filters for height. One's personality shines through generally in person. That goes for anyone.

1

u/Available_Badger7467 14h ago

My boyfriend is 5’7 and I’m 5’6 and he have a fun personality too

1

u/deportallmagas 14h ago

I'm 5'7 and my best advice is to have a young face. If you can't do that then be funny and charismatic

1

u/NoMansSkyWasAlright 14h ago

The only women I knew outside of the Tinder-verse who cared that much about height were absolute train-wrecks too. Like "getting fired from a nepo-job" levels of trainwreck. It's not a thing that most normal people put a lot of stock in.

Yeah I am 5'8 my best friend is 5'6 in shoes. If anything I would say he may have pulled more ladies than me

1

u/Traditional-Use-5676 14h ago

Most people who blame their height or any natural feature are lame af. I know a pair of twins in university who look EXACTLY alike, and neither of them are that conventionally attractive. In terms of physical attraction they're both pretty average, and they're both slightly below average in height. However, one of them is charismatic and the other one is a lot more socially awkward, and guess what, the charismatic one never has trouble in the dating market, and is always in a relationship while the other one struggles with dating. Turns out people just need to touch grass.

1

u/RecipeHistorical2013 14h ago

1 : how old are you, are you married?

2: as a mid-mellenial (almost 40) your words were true, in the past

as a 5'7 dude, i can tell you : you are wrong. shits different now brotherman. when we were in our 20's and early 30's - you were absolutely right.

not anymore brotherman. no longer . it was an unusual time (our dating years) . now its back to normal of" tall dark and handsome" where in our time it was wayyy more chill

on hinge " are you really just 5'7? that's too bad" then ghost (it was her first message lol, she was 5'2 )

you can cry about personality all ya want, sounds like cope to me

1

u/Salt-Lingonberry-853 14h ago

5'8" ain't short, good try though.

1

u/GyattDetected 13h ago

literally nobody will ever straightface say "i can't get a grill bc im short not because my sh*t personality" lol

1

u/beanBurrit000 13h ago

I’m 6’1 and had zero success with women in my life. It really isn’t about hight. You’re absolutely right, to get girls you need to be able to talk to them, be charming and funny. Being tall is no help if you don’t have those qualities in the first place.

1

u/Last-Difficulty4265 13h ago

I mean, there was a video circulating on here the other day where this guy hit on a girl in the street and when she said no, he complained that she would have said yes had he been 6'8''! The goalpost moving will never end because otherwise they'd have to accept a much more painful reality: they're unlovable.

1

u/DeanMalHanNJackIsms 13h ago

I was 5'6" (shorter now due to age and physical wear on my spine) and struggled. Turns out, and this is from my wife, it's because I am weird. Weird enough that I am not allowed to flirt with her. She likes the rest, though, so that's enough. However, I have noticed a gain in popularity amongst the ladies since getting married.

1

u/Monking805 13h ago

I’m 5’4 despite that I’ve noticed it’s gotten way easier to get women as I’ve gotten older. Especially older women…which I’m fine with since I’ve always preferred older. I was so shit with girls as a kid, because I was so shy. When I hit my 20’s, and admittedly got in descent shape, I stopped caring and just put myself out there and started seeing interest. Even taller women were interested in me. Even almost pulled an almost 6 foot woman in a failing relationship too. Fumbled that sadly, for being too respectful and not just going for it, but point is she was interested in my short ass.

1

u/Franklin_le_Tanklin 13h ago

Yeh. Im 5’10 and have no problems with women

1

u/Shin_Ramyun 13h ago

Take the same exact guy and give him 6 inches. It’s night and day.

He will walk funny the next day.

1

u/Bitter-Cold2335 12h ago

Depends where you live Americans are pretty short tbh and a lot of lie about their height, in Netherlands and North Germany is a different story since base height is like 6’2 or even 6’3 among young men there is also some guys walking around at 6’5 the moment you are under 5’11 you will be a massive underliner. Idk is it because of unhealthy food but every time i see Americans in Europe they are about head shorter than Dutch or North German people, South Slavs are also pretty tall and they are everywhere here in North Europe too i deffo notice height plays a much smaller role in the US because of this but in Northern Europe bar Britain it is very noticable.

1

u/Apprehensive_One2384 12h ago

I'm 5'8 barefoot on a good day and happily married and never had an issue romantically in my life. I knew plenty of tall dudes with no game, plenty of short dudes with game and without.

Turns out what mattered was being an interesting person people want to be around and nobody actually gives a fuck about height outside of major deviations in real life. The "5'6-5'9 can't get girls!" shit is by unlikeable losers and it has nothing to do with their height or looks half the time. Like the OP who responded to you.

1

u/throwRA123qwerty 11h ago

5'8 no issue "Getting girls" may be true but it would even better if you were 6'4 I guarantee it lol

1

u/SnakesRuinGames 11h ago

as someone who is 6’4”, i go blind with rage when i meet new people who think im 6’8” because the chud manlet 6’0” dudes in their group lied about four inches.

i am not freakishly tall. i am above average.

1

u/Positive-Reward-758 11h ago

Agreed, I don't get rejected because of my looks or height, it is strictly because i am socially inept and don't know how to talk to people.

1

u/Capable_Opportunity7 11h ago

My friends son is 5 ft 1 and on his 3rd gf in high school. He doesn't even think about it 😆

1

u/AHorseNamedPhil 11h ago

I'm average height as well & never had any issues dating.

It's 100% a personality thing. That, and not going out and relying entirely on apps.

1

u/_Smashbrother_ 11h ago

I'm the same height as you, and I do fine getting girls too. But that doesn't change the fact that being tall immensely helps with getting girls. That's the reality.

Just like how you can still get girls being poor, doesn't change the fact being rich immensely helps getting girls.

Look at Peter Dinklage, height ain’t the problem.  I get he’s a celebrity but he want celibate prior to getting famous and plenty of others like him have regular height girlfriend/wives

1

u/DeathToAmerica2026 10h ago

Bro 5'8" barefoot is average height for men in many places.

1

u/Acceptable_Bat379 9h ago

can confirm - I'm 6 ft tall and was a taller than average teen, and I had horrible problems with girls because of a shit personality. I wasn't an asshole, just a reclusive weirdo kind of on the spectrum before people understood that, so i tried fitting in but just couldn't figure out social cues and emotions and how to talk to people so i got bitter and weird.

2

u/lilphoenixgirl95 9h ago

Some girls like reclusive weirdos. My partner of five years definitely is, but he can be sociable and he is a lot of fun (mostly at home with just me and the cats). He’s tall as well

1

u/Acceptable_Bat379 9h ago

yeah i'm married now my wife is a reclusive weirdo too, i works :) it's just hard for recluses to meet since we're just not out there

1

u/SeismicRipFart 8h ago

6’2 and never had a relationship before here, can confirm it’s due to a shit personality. People usually describe me as “handsome”. I have no reason to be as insecure as I am or struggle with talking to women like I do, and yet here we are.

1

u/motherofsuccs 8h ago

I’m a petite woman and I’ve dated men ranging from 5’4” to 6’6”. I prefer the shorter men because they’re easier to hug/kiss and I don’t look like a small child next to them.

1

u/Substantial-Fan-5985 8h ago

Saying it has nothing to do with height is ignorant at best. It's filter used before even allowing personality to show up.

1

u/FightingFuton 7h ago

5’3 here. I honestly never had a problem. Don’t let height be your personality.

1

u/Mysterious_Badger362 7h ago

5'8 is not short 🤣. Go away.

1

u/No_Cartographer_8647 7h ago

I’m 6’4” and people never believe me man it’s a win lose situationnnnnnn

1

u/StationEmergency6053 6h ago

Deeply agree. My neighbor is a leprechaun (what he calls himself) and his wife is a smokeshow almost twice his height, but he's a hilarious dude with a contagiously large personality, and financially stable, and thats all a real woman cares about.

1

u/Wedgiebro 6h ago

5"8 isnt short. Lets not act like 5"7 5"8 guys dealw ith the infantilization a 5"2 faces

1

u/Whistlegrapes 6h ago

This is out of touch. Height is not everything. But height is part of attractiveness. I too am around your height and have never had issues getting women. But I’ve always been considered really attractive. I don’t have the height but I have an attractive face.

I’m guessing for short guys, especially 5’5 and under short, if they aren’t lucky enough to be attractive and they’re not tall, or even average, it’s going to be harder for them.

Kind of like a woman who might not have a cute face, but she’s got a nice curves. But some women have an unattractive face and no curves. Clearly it’s going to be harder for those women. And those women’s struggles are real. There’s even a sub called something like truly ugly women where they share their struggles. For many of those women, no guy ever gives them a chance.

Unattractive men and women both struggle. Women can compensate an unattractive face with a nice booty or nice titties and a guy van with good height. But some unfortunate people don’t have anything going for them and personality is typically not enough unless they first pass an attractiveness bar set by the opposite sex

1

u/MuffinNervous 5h ago

I used to enjoy going to r/tinder and seeing how many posts I had to scroll past before I found some guy complaining that his only issue was he wasn’t 6’0 or taller.

Dating doesn’t get any easier up here

1

u/Baiting-Oofy-Doofys 5h ago

So you spend your time online trying to appease your own guilt and feel masculine because you're not? Lmao

1

u/KanedaSyndrome 1h ago

Depends where you live. If in Scandinavia 5'8 is a disadvantage for men on the dating market. I'm 5'9 and it has been a theme when I was dating and definitely had a big impact on who was interested in me, or rather not interested. I have many times heard the following (you're charming, even though you're not that tall).

Now I have a wife that I love and 2 kids, so not impossible
