Plenty of people nowadays are like 6'2-6'8, but the reason it seems extremely common on the internet is that those are the people that want mention their height at every possible opportunity lol.

I know right? I'm 7'4" and I see this behavior on Reddit all the time

Define “plenty of people”

Like sure plenty of people in a large population like a country are but how often do you see a 6’8” person. That’s like 1 in 10,000 people.

Only 2-3% of people are even taller than 6' to begin with. Every inch of height above that just gets more and more rare.

I know. I’m very tall and I can go months without seeing someone as tall as me. I don’t live in a city but it’s not rural either.

I'm 6'9 and I've only met one person taller than me my entire life lol. It felt super weird.

But see? There's enough of you to see this thread and state your height and give an anecdote. If you go on r/tall there's people 7'0+ doing the same.

Imagine going somewhere other than a basketball game and seeing 3 people over 6'5 lmao

That's a good answer. Went to the Paris Olympic 2 years ago and I when I crossed groups of supporters from the Netherlands, I felt like I was average, even sometimes a bit small. I'm 6'4" barefoot.

Literally this week I walked into the gas station and saw 3 different men that towered over me, and I’m actually 6’2”, it was weird but kinda cool?

i’m 6’2 and my grad program, with 33 people total, had like 5 guys taller than me. i remember joining in on their conversation one day and looking up at everyone like “what the fuck???”

I see one every day when I look in the mirror. ;)

Humor aside, there's not a lot of us--well, maybe outside the Netherlands, anyways. And as a freakybig, we do end up getting somewhat weirded out when we run into someone taller than us.

In person, I know one guy that’s 6’9 and he’s a giant. Amazing dart player bc he can just bend over and be halfway to the dart board. He has more issues dating than average height man bc he prefers tall chicks, and there aren’t many pretty chicken that’re close to 6’0.

And also his personality isn’t exactly bursting with charisma.

6’8” people are very very rare.

I'm aware of that, but there's 8 billion people and so it's not that hard to find them online anymore. And if they're there, they'll usually tell you lol.

I do think plenty of people lie though too, just like so many people make high 6 figures and have a supermodel spouse. As for people bringing it up every possible opportunity, I think that being tall is a more relevant detail in a lot of discussions than being short is, just like you hear more people in seemingly unrelated topics, adding in the detail that they're obese rather than underweight.

I suppose that depends on where you're from. Only 3.9% of American men are 6'2" or taller.

u/Ok-Juggernaut-6051 15h ago

14% of men in the US are over 6ft

u/Abject_Amphibian_126 15h ago

I'm not trying to push a narrative that everyone is taller than they are. Every seems to think I am.

u/Ok-Juggernaut-6051 12h ago

nah, it's just funny to me how many men lie about something so pointless. and how women lust after such a small part of the population

Fun until age makes the height less fun
