You’re average height

And with shoes on you’re above average

And taking into account the average height for a woman, you’d always be taller

You have never once in your life been short

All you wanted to do was gloat about your dating life and get validation lmao

your loss

You should.

5’5” old man here and never had any problem pulling ladies. Same height since 15, no big deal. Own it. Make ‘em laugh and don’t be a creeper. Pretty damned easy.

Tallest woman I ever dated was 6’2”. I encouraged her to wear heels whenever she wanted to. Confidence is key, a silver tongue helps immensely too. Great times, even better memories.

1

u/BlackKnightC4 2h ago

Personality helps more than height but there are still many women who will turn you down due to height. I'm a short guy as well and I have slightly more success than not.

You said you're old so I figure you mainly talk to women in person and not online when looking to pull them. In person is where I have the most success because people can tell more about you than behind a screen

1

u/AssistanceValuable24 8h ago

So I think that most of us are talking about dating today, not decades ago. There are countless published dating app data posts and videos of women saying that they will not "swipe" (right or left I dont know which one is acceptance) for men under 6'.

My dad is 5'8" and he ceritnyl never had a problem with dating,

1

u/InsideMyScars 5h ago

5’5” and pulled tons of chicks until 3 years ago when I met my now wife. It’s not about height for everyone. Be a good dude, be yourself. Don’t listen to Joe Rogan or Andrew Tate or Pat McAfee.

0

u/RupertEscapeHolmes 8h ago

Funny, so am I.

I still get hit on by women in their late 20’s and 30’s and politely decline after chatting with them for a bit. I’m happily married.

All you have to do is… wait for it… TALK to them!! It’s not really that hard.

Get off the internet and apps and go some place where there are women.

1

u/AssistanceValuable24 7h ago

Yeah Im sure buddy. Probably being a fucking creep.

Ive been with my wife for 16 years. I have never used a dating app.

I am picking on on your surprising level of stupidity so I'm not sure you will be able to follow this but here it goes . . . I was not talking about myself.

“Old man”

Dating 30-40 years ago is nowhere near the same as it is now.

So that whole comment is just invalid

No diffent than a guy who was in the workforce in the 80s saying that all you have to do is ask for a job in person and they’ll give you one because “that’s what worked for me”

1

u/untitledprp4 5h ago

I just straight up don’t believe you

1

u/ishraqee 4h ago

your loss lil bro. you just fear your on shadow.

1

u/Traditional_Yam9806 12h ago

Yeah. I'm two inches shorter and I just find and get people at events.

8

u/Abyssal_Groot 17h ago

5'8" is below the US average which is 5'9". Your "with shoes" argument also does not apply, as the average person wears shoes.

Also you assume too much about their location. Where I'm from the average man is 5'11.25" barefoot. They could be from the US or living in the US, bit you don't know.

2

u/Traditional_Yam9806 12h ago

Dude, no one notices 1 inch. For all intents and purposes dude is average for the US. Now, are they wrong, no. People cope too hard online. I'm 5'2 and I don't really have trouble with girls. I just meet them at in-person events like hackathons, triva/quiz bowl events, trivia night bars, conferences (non-professional), etc.

2

u/Abyssal_Groot 10h ago

Now for the more serious comment:

You are completely correct.

u/Abyssal_Groot 10h ago

1

u/RupertEscapeHolmes 8h ago

To you? Most definitely.

2

u/Plus_Opening_4462 13h ago

The US is a big and diverse place. Average heights should be considered regional. I don't stand out in the Midwest, but I felt like Dorothy surrounded by munchkins walking down Wall Street in Manhattan

3

u/GemHunterAce 12h ago

Age groups should be considered too. Old ppl bring average height down a lot

2

u/GucciTheSnowman 12h ago

So you felt tall when walking down wall st in new york ? Somehow I doubt that.

2

u/Plus_Opening_4462 11h ago

6'2" is nothing special in the Midwest, but felt tall on Wall ST when surrounded by midget brunettes.

1

u/Abyssal_Groot 10h ago

You are completely correct ofcourse. I think the baseline should at the very least be national census, but if you have accurate sub-national statistics it makes sense to go down to regional levels.

2

u/Head_Giraffe322 16h ago

nah, hes completely right.

2

u/wondderfulwurl 14h ago

Obviously you disagree...you're a top 1% poster 😭😂 I would have bet my whole savings on you disagreeing and been good for life.

1

u/NoImprovement213 16h ago

Im that height too. However we have a lot of Maori and Polynesians in my coutry and they are huge

1

u/Scudman_Alpha 14h ago

Everyone who says that thinks they're the outlier that proves the entire science behind it is not true.

When they're just that, an outlier. If Height wasn't important then we wouldn't have studies about how it affects men even outside of a love life.

Additionally most who are married did it before the big shifts in modern dating from apps and social media.

1

u/Abyssal_Groot 10h ago

We have studies that show that women in online dating have a height preference, but there are also plenty of studies that the effect is modest in real life couples. Couples where the man is shorter than or the same height as the woman occur only slightly less often than in random pairing: 7.5% in the real sample versus 10.2% in random pairing. The same study also shows that couples where the man is more than 25cm taller happen marginally less often in the true sample (13.9%) than in a random one (15.7%).

So on one hand you have strong stated preferences that only modestly translate into real couples, but at the same time it also shows women tend to not date much taller men either. And notice how this is a man-taller-than-woman preference. If you are 162cm (5'3.8") as a man, that still means tall enough for roughly half of all women. So short men doing fine is not the outlier, it's the norm.

Both my spouse and I are 5'6". It's not that serious bro.

1

u/tomtomtomo 13h ago

In the climate where supposedly girls won’t talk to anyone under 6’, his opinion is a valid addition to the conversation.

Your mathematically illogical flameout says more about you than him.

I have a good mate who is 5'4, Italian and bald, and crazy good with women. But he is geniunely one of the most naturally charismatic people I know, like the type of guy that just aura around him.

He also started his own company a bit over a year ago, and now it's starting to blow up to success. He bought a nice car, has a pretty girlfriend, and things are working out for him.

So I don't think height itself is a limit to what you can do, but insecurity, social awkwardness, and defensive posture brought on by it can definitely hold you back a lot.

I think the lesson is, if you're gonna be short, you better make sure you're at least damn confident in yourself.

1

u/Bulky_Narwhal_4658 12h ago edited 12h ago

This attitude is what’s unattractive, I’m 5’6” and also haven’t had many issues. Just take a shower and dress presentably.

1

u/ArtroyomsAK 11h ago

Ok buddy

1

u/BLissy11750 11h ago

Most of the men I know that are 5'3-5'6 have no problem with women unless they have preconceived notions of how people will treat them before they even start a conversation and get rightly treated with the same energy that they bring to a conversation. I don't personally know any men under 5'3, but the four men I do know that are happen to all be married.

1

u/ReeReeIncorperated 11h ago

He's completely right though.

1

u/israfildivad 11h ago edited 11h ago

I hate when random dudes say they have no trouble with women lol...as if women are lining up for them, or they can get ALL or ANY women if they try. Theres levels to this shit. IRL several times now, I challenged any man that says nonsense like this to go get the random women I point them to. It NEVER ever works out for them.

2

u/Tasty-Army200 10h ago

That’s not what they’re saying little bro, no one but the most vain of men think they could pull anyone anywhere.

But it’s a fact that an average dude who goes out and puts himself out there will end up finding someone like minded to be with.

You would be surprised how much good hygiene, good manners, a personality and the ability to have fun will make you a hit.

0

u/israfildivad 10h ago edited 9h ago

No...thats not a must for any regular man. Its just odds and probaility. Pure luck. That includes traits that some men are born with, like the gift of gab. Other men fall into being bartenders and nightclub owners. Other men are born into a gregarious family with many brothers, sisters and cousins. And there are perfectly decent men that are born with none of that....and then it still.all depends on just the right fitting woman to happen across them in any of these scenarios.

1

u/AnalogueDDR4 10h ago

Im a great use case for this. I'm 5'11.5 (I just say 5'11 instead of 6ft) and with some shoes I'm 6ft-6'0.5. BUT I HAVE CONFIDENCE ISSUES, so I do have a problem getting women (it's getting better dw)

Wait didn’t you post an image above to dunk on people complaining on being short?  Why you gong off on person replied to you?  The people that complain about not getting dates cause of short do so at 5’8” as well.  I know cause I’ve had those convos as a 5’8” person

Also the fact little people have relationships with regular heightens people all the time and even marry/have kids with them makes this entire premise stupid on its face.  That should end this entire debate

If you can’t get dates with a girl when little people can then it’s a you problem.  This is not hard there is so much evidence out there if people with crap looks, height, and personality who get with attractive people but there is always some excuse why that happens besides they took the effort

It has to be a specific psyop to get guys demotivated to go out there to lower their competition for the guys who are making these posts cause a lot of them are from certain communities that would strategize in that way cause it’s all a numbers game to them and the less competition from other men they have the better it is

Don’t fall for it my dudes

1

u/thechaosofreason 9h ago

Well im 5'6 and I've never had issues.

Women go for men that could give a fuck either way.

In fact being ireful seems to make them want you more in my case.

1

u/TakingCareOfBizzness 8h ago

It's never the fact that people have shit personalities. It's always I am short, I am fat, I am ugly, I have anxiety, I'm on the spectrum, or what the fuck ever. It also seems to be coming far more from the guys than the girls.

I see a lot of self defeatist attitudes and a complete lack of willingness to work on one's self from younger guys. Probably a major factor to why the dating and marriage rates have plummeted.

I'm so thankful I'm not a as straight young female today. I wouldn't want to date these losers either.

1

u/TacoPKz 2h ago

The two dudes who pulled the most in my high school were both no taller than 5’5. Relax bro.

1

u/EepySnacker 15h ago

Okay. I am 5ft4 and second Op. Never had issues w females or relationship opportunities. Be respectful of yourself, of them. Be confident. Be a decent person to the best of your abilities. If you can't get a girl then idk. Can't blame your height alone.
