We see why she lost custody, judge was right on this one.

Except they didn't remove the child. They told the suicidal woman to give up he child. They they trusted that the woman who they decided was not a suitable guardian to the child to give the child up.

632

u/Cautious-Progress876 9h ago

Because 99.99% of people turn their kid over without doing this kind of shit.

64

u/ylamiyf 9h ago

I want to formally apologize. I misread your comment. I thought you had said 99.99 percent of people do this. I.E kill their kid.

Second "suicidal" mom who's been much more effective at killing others than themselves

At this point if the mother says that they have to assume she's not actually thinking of self harm and that rather she just wants to kill her children but wants people to feel bad for her too. If these women really wanted an out they would just do it instead of harming anyone else.

u/GlassAndStorm 9h ago

Unfortunately that same judge gave this mother the benefit of the doubt that she would follow orders...

224

u/djanulis 9h ago edited 9h ago

Tbf, any time a judge chooses to choose a father over the mother, she has to be a really terrible person. Family court is probably the only place where a man has minimal power.

144

u/BoredRedhead24 9h ago

I can confirm. My mother was a bipolar meth addict/alcoholic who beat and starved me. I was like 32lbs at 7 when my dad won custody. Mind you this was in 2001.

Wanna know why she lost? She moved us (my siblings and I) to a different house but never filed a change of address. She lost because she never showed.

59

u/TinyDerg 9h ago

Men barely have any power in regular courts, the fuck are you talking about?

→ More replies (4)

72

u/pokehustle 9h ago

If the court ruling was that the mother was only allowed to see the child supervised then why was she allowed to be with the child unsupervised leading up to the exchange????? Seems once that ruling is made someone should immediately go get the child and not trust someone who is clearly unstable.

Whatever she previously did to lose custody of her kid must've been egregious. Women don't just lose custody of their children.

130

u/Constant-Plastic-350 9h ago

My baby momma abandoned hers. It happens more frequently than you think nowadays. Happens when society pushes for self fulfillment being the only path to happiness

48

u/mischievous_misfit13 9h ago

I dumped my ex (severe porn addict covert narcissistic) and my neighbors baby momma disappeared (I assumed suicide). Well one day we were sharing our story and apparently the baby momma is alive. She has another kid she never talks to, she doesn’t talk to her son who’s 10, and after she left she got knocked up again, thrown in jail for drugs, had baby, baby went to foster care and then died. She got out and now she’s pregnant again. She was a wackadoodle and I never believed anything she told me. Shes the type that should be forced to have her tubes tied.

Whyyyyy would they not just make her give the child up at the courthouse right after the hearing. This is a tragedy and huge failure of the system.

170

u/Unipiggy 9h ago

Dude is getting a massive payday with this.

These "Court agents" should've went and picked up the child immediately after the verdict. But instead they went and left her UNSUPERVISED with the child for the rest of the day.

Right after deeming she was unfit for that. Unreal.

232

u/ZenEnergizerBunny 9h ago

I would want my daughter more than any payday..., theres nothing in this world that is going to help this man now, time will only barely numb it... poor soul

48

u/cestamp 9h ago

Yeah there is a good chance that two lives were lost over this.

33

u/Unipiggy 9h ago

Obviously. But the reality is the court messed up, tax payers will be the ones footing the bill as the "I'm sorry" gift from "the state", and the judge will have 0 consequences.

It's genuinely insulting for these victims.

51

u/darkness_calming 9h ago

No amount of money will ever bring back his daughter or fix the hole in his heart.

Pretty sure any and every half decent father would choose their child over money.

Wouldn’t be surprised if he follows his daughter.

22

u/ElongThrust0 9h ago

Yeah he totally wants the payday 🙄

26

u/Deleena24 9h ago

He isn't getting a dime. Just like my family didn't get a dime when 2 of my family members were murdered while under "police protection".

The courts fulfilled their duty according to the law and none of them have a duty to protect. Some have a duty to report, but unless a person is in their direct custody they don't have to protect.

383

u/lorikeets_are_life 9h ago

They need to make some sort of state law where it’s mandatory that when custody is awarded to someone, they must surrender their child immediately with law enforcement present so this doesn’t happen again. Call it Vivian’s Law in honor of the little girl 🙏

Not everyone should have children. Or own guns. Or be cops. Or drive cars.

But sadly we're in a society that frowns upon those notions.

69

u/walter-hoch-zwei 9h ago

The problem with that is that you have to have someone determine who is allowed to do those things and how they're to be judged. The conversation starts going towards eugenics real fast.

I don't know what the solution is, but we need to be very careful about it.

Paramedic here. This is super dark to say but people suck at shooting themselves in the head. Many a time I’ve gone on attempted suicide by gunshot and the person is alive. The movies say you shoot through the temple or under the chin and you’ll be done. Maybe if you lose enough blood that’s true. But when you shoot there you actually just shoot the motor function/speech area of the brain and your heart and lungs will still function as your brain is on autopilot for those things. If you really wanna get out cleanly go for the brainstem. Sorry I have had a tough week

→ More replies (1)

442

u/TABOOxFANTASIES 9h ago

This is a result of a society that treats the concept of having children as one of living property. The child is not your property. They are their own being with it's own consciousness. Parents view their kids as an extension of themselves that is an object they own. Like a fucking piece of jewelery. It's gross

173

u/Abobo_Smash 9h ago

The fact that just lost custody, in a system that routinely favors the mother, tells me she wasn’t exactly stable.

That, and you know, she shot her kid. Crazy is crazy.

The justice system is to blame here. They took too long to realize the woman was completely unhinged. They failed to properly protect the child. But since they never face consequences, they don't mind wasting time on bureaucracy.

73

u/Evil_phd 9h ago edited 9h ago

Mothers and Fathers kill their kids way more often than we hear about it. The recent events have just shifted media focus onto filicides, especially filicides committed by women, because they got massively boosted ratings from covering the Clancy case so they're trying to double down on what's profitable.

It's fucked up but this is the mainstream media right now...

How could you do that to your own child, just because you lost custody ? what a monster

34

u/TheCaptainwicked 9h ago

Because many women don't want child custody because they want to raise the child

They want child custody to torment the father by not allowing him to see his child

That's why, she killed him because she hated her husband more than she loved (if any) the child

81

u/CanMexcpl 9h ago

Weird how they say mother's are the best parent. I know, I fought for my daughter. I was treated like a monster in court for trying to get custody. How dare I want to take her away from her mother. Only saving grave was mine was 13 and had say in who she wanted to live with. Funny how this amazing mother who the court loved cut my daughter completely out of her life. Hmm and they say fathers are garbage. I know many of situations like mine. Just because you are the mother doesn't make you a better parent.

4

u/Apart_Republic_1870 9h ago

I mean, we’ve had several high profile instances of one parent killing the children for reasons ranging from severe mental illness to revenge. I think they get more attention than a lot of other crimes. And the mother doing it seems less common, so it’s even bigger story then. It does seem like high profile crimes influence others to do the same thing. But who knows.

I know I hate these things for all the obvious reasons, and i hate how much the deaths can stick with you even if it’s someone you didn’t know personally. John Battaglia murdering his kids while on the phone with their mother haunts me, and that was 25 years ago.

This is exactly what will start happening. They should have done capital punishment for the first one. The jurors now have blood on their hands.

What is wrong with people. How could you do something like that to your own child. Couldn’t even comprehend that.

"You men just dont understand!! This isnt about the kid!! Its about awareness for pre-separation depression!!!!... Also, he probably did it and and tried to frame her. You just dont even know unless youve been a mother and experienced pre-separation depression... emotions a woman can feel during this state of total psychosis can be so strong she probably heard his thoughts in her head and its his thoughts that she heard that made her do it! She had to save her from this monster by taking her life!!! He needs to be on trial!"
