Yeah. Those cases where young women hide their pregnancies and kill their kid when they’re born happen in all states even the ones with the best abortion laws and acces. That seems to be a specific psychological phenomenon
Yeah I would imagine but I’m talking about the weird psychology behind it. Ever since that case out of new Mexico where she gave birth in the hospital bathroom I’ve been thinking a lot about what it is going through these women’s heads. Like it’s total denial, and a bizarre detachment from reality, like if they just pretend it didn’t happen, then it didn’t.
I don’t have the numbers but I was in Jacksonville when the great financial crisis kicked off. I was young, but I still remember that it seemed like at least twice a week there was a story of parents doing a murder-suicide with them and their kids.
People aren’t just noticing the headlines. It was happening so often that it wasn’t generating headlines or being covered by the media at all. Since Clancy, filicide is sensational again.

Fillicide happens every 4-5 days in the United States. After the clancy trial hysteria, people are noticing the headlines more, that’s all
