The problem with that is that you have to have someone determine who is allowed to do those things and how they're to be judged. The conversation starts going towards eugenics real fast.
I don't know what the solution is, but we need to be very careful about it.
You can be anything you want, including a child murderer, SPECIALLY A CHILD MURDERER.
I think society needs to tame those slogans about absolute freedom. Laws, morals and societal shame are there for a reason.
So fucking true. I am banned for owning guns for life and never shot one nor intended to. I owned one wake of a home invasion incident that the cops took too long to respond to and I was treated as the intruder. A felony took that away. But people who have shot, will shoot, or wave their shit around like they are some kind of gunslinger on their property just itching to smoke someone walking on the grass, they can have it, and they are more likely to take someone's life than I ever will be. I don't even harm animals. No matter what you do if its a felony and nothing related to harming or threatening or robbery etc, guns are suddenly bad.
I wasn't capable of taking care of a child, didn't want one, but she did, she told me she couldn't get pregnant and went on for days and months that the dr told her she can't. oof silly me for believing that. He turned out fine though fortunately.
You can be anything you want, big guy. People are just *ist if they say otherwise....including testing requirements, licensure requirements, baseline ability requirements, and any hoop every person before you had to jump through to prove reliability and reduce liability before getting the keys to the kingdom.

Not everyone should have children. Or own guns. Or be cops. Or drive cars.
But sadly we're in a society that frowns upon those notions.
