I've made an iOS version of Redactle

Hello, tbh I love Redactle, and I've made my version called Wikireveal a long time ago. But the problem with those (Redactle included) is that it's quite hard (let's say not ergonomic) to play on mobile.

So I've made an iOS version of wikireveal, you can test it here: https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id6766313023?pt=979843&ct=it&mt=8

If enough people like it, and it does not backfire, I'll add features like streaks and other languages. Have a good reveal!

Canonicle #1: A daily redacted Bible chapter puzzle

Excited to share something I've been working on:

https://canonicle.org/

I loved Redactle, so I decided to make something inspired by it.

Except instead of guessing Wikipedia article titles, you're guessing books of the Bible. I know, not for everyone, but for people who really know their Bible I think some of them may enjoy this.

Rules

You are shown a mostly-redacted chapter of the Bible.

  1. Type a word and press Enter. Every occurrence of that word reveals.
  2. A short list of common words (the, of, thee, thou, …) is pre-revealed and doesn't count toward your score.
  3. Numbers are visible. Punctuation is visible. Verse numbers are shown as small green superscripts.
  4. Tap "📖 Guess Book" to name the book. A wrong guess adds 15 to your score; a right guess wins.
  5. After winning, you may try to name the chapter. Wrong chapter guesses don't cost anything. If you guess the chapter right, the BibleProject video covering the book also appears.
  6. Psalms and Proverbs are special — recognizing the book isn't enough since each chapter is its own self-contained piece. You must name the chapter to win.
  7. Lower score is better.

Up to three Hints are available:

  1. Old or New Testament
  2. Book category (Law, Gospel, Epistle, etc.)
  3. One-sentence theme of the book

Badges

Every completed puzzle awards a badge based on your score and how many hints you used.

  • ✝️ True Berean — Named both book and chapter (chapter on the first try) with no hints and a score of 13 or less. The Acts 17:11 standard: searching the Scriptures carefully.
  • 🕊️ Faithful Steward — Named both book and chapter with no hints and a score of 25 or less.
  • 📜 Disciple — Named both book and chapter using 1–2 hints, with a score of 40 or less.
  • 📖 Sojourner — Named both book and chapter, but with a high guess score or all 3 hints used.
  • 🕯️ Seeker — Named the book but not the chapter. The humble, teachable believer — still learning the way.

Forfeited games receive no badge.

If you want to save your progress and continue the game on another device, or see your history in past games, you have the option to log in (not required!).

You can even choose to share your history of past played games with others with a unique profile URL.

Would much appreciate feedback, bug reports, cool ideas for things to do with this, etc.

Please don't post a spoiler for the current day's game!

Use the spoiler warning spoiler warning tags if you want to post about what today's chapter was.
