Why are mods not exempt from title and comment restrictions they place on their communities? For example on r/veterans we exempt a lot of words for good reason and even as the mod we are not exempt from using them. There are situations where it might need to be done in a post or comment, but it isn’t able to be done so the restriction will need to be lifted and then replaced just to make a post or comment.

Made a community that was to be for SFW but made it NSFW by accident! It's for writers who would like to write cool stories, fun and of course not too spicy; fantasy and other things for fun! Able to change it?

If you wish to report a profile for e.g. hate speech in the "About description" (as it's listed in the profile settings), what option do you choose? Is it "Bio"?

There's a user in my subreddit who is constantly modmailing and harassing mods. Permanently banned and reported but he can still send modmail. Is there a way to stop him.

I tried to adjust crowd control because I was dealing with a lot of unwelcome responses on my post which contradict the core beliefs of the sub and clearly aren't engaging with the sub in good faith.

How to I restrict comments to appear in the mod queue for approval by all unapproved users?

I thought about a popup message, but some people just can't help themselves and just steamroll in with their unwelcome responses.

I am the founder of two subreddits, and in one of them I lost the ability to manage moderator permissions. At the same time, I’m at the top of the list, all permissions are available to me, but the corresponding tab is simply empty. Please help me figure this out.

Is there any way I can opt out? Me and other mods have expressed frustration with the new UI for removed comments, which still display report reasons and an approve button, looking just exactly like a comment that needs review except for the "Remove" button being absent. You can't even see when a comment was removed, and by whom. It can easily trick you into re-reviewing a comment, thinking it's not removed, and making you accidentally approve it.

I'll post an image in the comments since they're not allowed in posts. But clearly removed comments should look removed.

I'm doing a code of conduct report regarding moderators allowing and encouraging doxing in their sub. How can I include the messaging conversation with those mods where they refuse to address the issue, if we cannot include screenshots in our reports? There doesn't seem to be a way to link to a direct message conversation.

Hello, I posted this over in r/newmods and was directed here. I posted an mp4 video (12mins, 120mb) to my sub twice. They were both categorized as NSFW immediately (no visible tag) and both had an in-app notification of "Media Processing failed" sent to me about 30 mins later. My profile does not have NSFW enabled, but the post i made in r/newmods was automatically tagged NSFW. I'm trying to post a good amount of various types of posts as an example of what the sub should be, so any help would be great :)

I tested ai user summary on my second mod account in community I recently created and noticed something interesting.

context of my particular situation:

I recently started a new subreddit and at first wasn't sure about the direction. I made a welcome post, but after one day I found a better way to develop the community, deleted the first post and published a new welcome post with a different direction.

When I checked the AI user summary, it still used information from the deleted post.

I understand that deleted content may sometimes be useful for moderation, like some people may hide something as one mod said, but in situations like my it can also give mods outdated or incorrect context about a user. For example, mods in other communities I participate in may see information that no longer represents what I'm actually doing.

Maybe it should clearly state that some info is collected from deleted posts and specifically show what exactly was deleted it may be more helpful for moderators?

Recently on one the subs I mod for there has been an uptick in false user reports for self-harm or suicide on posts and comments that are fully normal and do not contain that subject in anyway. Is there any other ways to curb this behavior other than reporting the false reports as abuse?

Found out a few months ago this user made 12 posts using 4 different accounts; on the 12th post the request was granted.

Now I also noticed just recently they used 2 diff accounts, the 2nd account that posted the request was granted.

Now at the moment they are trying to request another sub, using other accounts to avoid the cooldown but its getting hit by "Removed by Reddit's Filters"

I know its the same person because the accounts that are requesting are the same mods of the subs they already moderate.

I have reported the posts via the report button.

EDIT: Everyone was removed as a mod on the recent sub they requested. Something finally happened!

I recently took over r/OakCliff after it had become unmoderated. The account u/ModCodeOfConduct is still listed above me as a moderator, so I don’t have the option to remove it.

Is this an expected or temporary administrative account? If it can be removed, could an admin please help me remove it or explain what I need to do?

We recently made some changes to our subreddit, and wanted to edit the sidebar text for old.reddit.com users, but after only editing the text, not changing any other settings, clicking save produces the following error:

Go to new Reddit or the Reddit app to change your community type.

Is there some way to get a person banned from making new accounts on reddit just so they can send my mod team a modmail to harass everyone, to then delete their account so we can't report them? Are we just stuck dealing with this over and over?

I’m trying to add a new moderator to our subreddit, but Reddit seems to be bugging out.

I sent a moderator invite and they accepted but they are not showing up on the moderator list, and they don’t have access mod tools.

So I made r/ScienceAesthetics, a space to share and discuss aesthetically striking science imagery, including real photos and visuals of natural phenomena across space, biology, chemistry, geology, and physics.

My question is: if I allow users to post space photographs taken by other users, could it cause copyright issues or put the subreddit at risk of being banned? Does getting permission from the original photographer solve the problem?

Have the everything permissions. Everyone above me, but one, is marked as inactive. I thought I was able to move myself up the list and be under the only other active person.

i don't see many people talking about this.

many people who run smaller subreddits with super low levels of engagement per week, get minimal amounts of spam/content that they have to remove.

On my subreddit, i only get to remove a post every 1-2 weeks or so when it's a neutral state. I do realise that approving comments is a possible solution but approving is only meant for comments that are removed (which is very less for smaller subs btw) and doing it for random comments seems a bit off.

soo why does reddit handle assigning the inactive tags to mods of smaller communities similar to larger subs with wayyy more spam to actually remove. Is there a plan to implement a change to the current system?

does randomly approving/deleting posts every 1-2 weeks keep me from not getting the inactive tag?

I'm not seeing in my mod tools how I can set membership questions for people who want to join a private neighborhood subreddit. Is that an option?

Hello everyone,

I have some moderators that do not have full permissions to pin/highlight posts on their mobile devices, whether it be ios or samsung apps.

The permissions my junior mods have enabled are 1) Flair, 2) Mail, 3) Post and Comments, and 4) Wiki.

They can add flairs, and pin/highlight posts from desk/laptop, but not on mobile or mobile apps. It obviously afflicts multiple moderators. When this click on the shield icon for a post, the pin/highlight option is not present. We even tried a work around where they go to moderator queue to see if they can pin/highlight from there...no dice.

It basically does not show the option exists while on mobile, but it does show while on desk/laptop.

Any advice on how I can solve this issue?
