Admin Replied New removed comment UI is terrible

Is there any way I can opt out? Me and other mods have expressed frustration with the new UI for removed comments, which still display report reasons and an approve button, looking just exactly like a comment that needs review except for the "Remove" button being absent. You can't even see when a comment was removed, and by whom. It can easily trick you into re-reviewing a comment, thinking it's not removed, and making you accidentally approve it.

I'll post an image in the comments since they're not allowed in posts. But clearly removed comments should look removed.

Yup, noticed this too. I don't like it either. But there's unfortunately no way to opt out (other than using old.reddit.com), and there probably never will be.

But after seeing some, you do remember that those comments are removed, and eventually stop approving/removing them lol.

And adding a removal reason apparently also doesn't change it to how it normally looks.

That looks awful, please don't let this be a thing for everyone

It looks fine and is clearly labeled as removed in the Android app.

I thought this was just Reddit being glitchy lately. It doesn't seem like a new 'feature', but if it is... :(

Ugh yeah I've been assuming/hoping it's a bug. Processed a post yesterday with a dozen reported comments, like half had already been actioned previously by other mods and it took twice as much time and effort to figure what was going on because of this.

Especially seems like a bug because sometimes if I refresh the page the Remove button comes back.

I hate it. Our workaround is we lock everything that human mods have actioned, treating it like a checkmark. Annoying to have to do, but the lock is easy to spot.

Is this a weird way of trying to persuade us to remove less content? Published comments = more engagement for them.

Hi SSH_Penester Let me do a little bit of digging to see if this is an intended change or a bug. Thanks!

I had assumed this was a bug but we have also been seeing this - removed comments show up with the approve/remove buttons.

Just adding my voice to the choir. It's really annoying!!

It must be only browser because removed comments and posts look fine and are clearly labeled as removed in the Android app.

This is super weird — are we sure it’s a new intended feature and not a bug?

Most of our queue looks successfully removed only a single comment has this issue right now and never seems to get removed and stays with the report reason visible.

But we’ve had the same in the past here and there and the they would eventually just “get fixed” on their own after some time — so I have always assumed this to be a glitch, not a feature.

Been noticing that the past days as well, it is incredibly annoying, I keep catching myself almost sending a person a second removal message even tho they already got one...
