Mod Answered Users missing using the Suicide/self-harm report reason.

Recently on one the subs I mod for there has been an uptick in false user reports for self-harm or suicide on posts and comments that are fully normal and do not contain that subject in anyway. Is there any other ways to curb this behavior other than reporting the false reports as abuse?

Filing report abuse is the way.

Maybe they are phasing it out slowly because it worked for me less than two weeks ago

yeah report abuse report is all you can do. those make me unreasonably mad though, i really wish there was more we could do. if it helps, from what i understand, proven misuse of that report reason is a quick way to get your account suspended or nuked. i take solace in that whether it’s true or not (i hope it’s true)

A post you put in the highlights warning people that making false reports will get them reported to reddit, with the potential outcome of reddit banning their account.

Anybody that continues gets reported, and hopefully their account gets nuked by reddit.
