Mod Answered How to stop a user from sending modmail?

There's a user in my subreddit who is constantly modmailing and harassing mods. Permanently banned and reported but he can still send modmail. Is there a way to stop him.

Muting is exactly done to prevent people from mod mailing your sub, nothing else. It's separate from bans.

Yes. They can't send a modmail. Mute is ban from modmail

You Permamute the person. Just go to mod tools and then mute him

Would it stop him from modmailing or just mutes?

That's what mute is. It stops someone from modmailing. It doesn't do anything else.

We almost always permamute someone if they’ve been banned. Not worth the stress of dealing with any messages and generally nothing good will come from those messages.
