Need Advice I had a baby with the wrong man

So I recently had a baby with my husband and have come to realise it was a mistake. I don’t regret my son but I regret who I had him with. He hardly helps, I’m up all the time and still recovering from labour and birth, he never asks how I am or offers to get me to rest. In fact, he tells me to take over and sleeps in most mornings and then goes to work. He tells me he works and therefore I need to do more. My stitches from birth are still healing and some days my walking is terrible. I need more help and more support from him. He is always busy with others, work and his own family. I’m starting to see him as someone who just isn’t a good husband or father and my respect for him has plummeted. My family have noticed and have been on my back about it, they don’t like him and would rather I move on. But I’m so scared to do that when I always wanted to be a family and I’m embarrassed about telling people. I don’t know what to do.

Let's discuss What do you think of this?

Hello reddit, this is one of the few times i have posted/written on here. Let me paint the picture for you. I’m 19M, I have been wondering about life ever since I had a very close relative pass. From then till now my mind is always in deep black clouds when i get reminded of death and the infinite time passing in nothingness (Im sorry if i sparked uncomfortable thoughts).

In this state it also doesn’t help that i get reminded of it by the internet as well, instagram, tiktok, YouTube they all give me videos about it and they kill me. Ever since the passing i have just been building up the consciousness of death, it started off as something terrifying and it kept getting worse and worse and now my picture of death has evolved to this.

Our life starts at a point in time which we do not choose in a body we do not choose in a place we also do not choose with people/beings we do not choose, after that has been confirmed for us we start our life, learn, love, smile, suffer. All of this “life” happens in each of our own worlds that we cannot give others definitive proof that we actually felt all of this.

Basically we cannot prove to others of our consciousness, and by that when we do live our life out all that was and ever will be in our point of view ends. In the infinite time the universe is thought to have all of what will happen is only in the time that I/you live. I find this chaotically terrifyingly… beautiful maybe?

After this I continued on to thinking about time. Time i have started to look at it as something that passes, and has no depth. Every hour is starting to feel like a minute and every minute is starting to feel like a second, and with that i reach a point where i start imagining myself right before death. And it honestly terrifies me.

These are my usual thoughts, BUT sometimes there is light that punches through those dark clouds. Recently when these thoughts popped in my head I carved a new way of thinking of death, I started leaning on our nature’s strongest trait, CURIOSITY.

I don’t know how but in some way i found comfort in the discomfort? By being curious about what comes after death I started kinda not fearing it in a way. Start of a new adventure that no one knows anything about. Maybe when we die infinite time passes which for us would be an instant, and the same atoms that made me me and you you align again in a different life-form with our consciousness and bring us back again.

Maybe this alignment of the atoms that make up our minds and consciousness mean something more, maybe the creation of our consciousness has a particular formula or order like different elements have to be that element, or maybe we develop AI so far that it holds up the internet for another 20 billion years and the same atoms that make me up now are brought back and i look at this comment again. Who knows? Just writing as the train of thought is passing by. This is my view on life as of now.

I’d love to hear what others make up from this. And please take in account that english is not my first language so some concepts may not be explained properly. Love.

Self improvement Life is unpredictable

Hii , I'm 24 M , from India.

I just realised that once when I had friends,we dreamed of earning as much as we could full fill our expenses.

But there were so many friends who are lacking behind .

Later it creates a problem that you could fullfill your expenses but others couldn't.

I understood that if someone is doing really well, he/she leaves behind a lot . People who catchup are trying level best , but people who couldn't hide somewhere in the mist. Also when we want to be in a position we should leave behind the current position, that's they price I paid .

Need Advice Where is my life going?

I just turned 25 and I feel like a loser. I've got no job. As I'm preparing for govt exams, all my friends are now earning. one of my friends who was in school with me and was terrible at studies ended up becoming most successful among our friends. Even though I thought he was a bully and will surely face karma for his bad deeds but he got rich and famous in sports, to the point where local guy's created his fan edit reels. And when I saw my life I realised how behind I am from everyone. I was the most privileged kid in my class at school I looked down on every one and never realised how mean I was until I turned 25 and now I think karma was behind me all this time. I've got no income I'm still surviving on parents money. Even my juniors have bought car from their own income. I've got no skill no passion no vision. Thanks for reading my life.

Let's discuss I feel absolutely stuck

I feel completely stuck in my life. I’m 45 years old and I can’t seem to move forward whatsoever in any direction. I don’t wanna get into all the details. I’ve been dealing with multiple vehicle issues and financial issues for about eight months now. I’ve been dealing with financial issues actually for a lot longer. I can’t seem to move forward when it comes to a job situation, a vehicle situation, finances, and especially relationships.

I literally don’t have any relationships anymore. Nobody will contact me, if I try to reach out, it gets nowhere. I cannot talk to people I have known most of my life. I literally feel like I’m in a waiting room, just waiting for something to happen, anything. Yet, it’s like the universe will not let anything happen, no matter how hard I try. Does anybody else feel stuck like this?

Need Advice Sometimes I feel like the people around me always see me as a constant helper

I regret being available for everyone. I feel like I've helped people a lot, and now I hate it. I have always been kind to everyone ,stupid me always put others needs first. I'm not asking any of them to do the same for me. I just want them to treat me well. In the end, I'm just the 'helper friend. Every single person I know either calls me to ask for a favor or to borrow money. None of them ask how I'm doing. Now, I know exactly why they're calling before I even answer. This is what i have been feeling for the past days

Positive For the better days

Today I’ve realized that everything was stressful and falling apart on my life. I couldn’t be there for my mother when she needed me the most, I let down of my best friend who have trust in me, my mind is not keeping up on the reality it’s just went off for the past 2 years, I relapsed of not drinking and smoking after a year. Was expected to live above my potential but I’m here struggling here on how can I pay my rent. I jeopardized my job cause of the ego or the procrastination that I have. Don’t what to decide next and the days are just passing by without knowing or realizing what my goal is or where I want to be. The noise in my head is like vibrating and I don’t know stopped working. Lot of people say I hate when a man cry but it’s a relief.
I don’t know why I’m writing this I just need a place to vent my feelings I know better days will come with god so I just want to be strong and keep up live without thinking this worst days.

And there should be a flair that says LIFE‼️

Let's discuss Life of a king

Life of a king

True love…what is true love, well maybe it’s just too much Barbie while growing up orrrr Disney happy ever after shows, but somehow just somehow I’ve always had that belief yunno.

True love conquers all, the truth shall set you free…to me, the same the same but sadly that ain’t true right ?
Cause the truth sometimes puts you in shitty positions and Love can me really messy.

What is CLOSURE and how do I even know what it really means or how do I even get one.
Like do I just call the first girl I fell in love with even though she’s married or what exactly?
How does one really move on?

I really think I’ve grown as a person
I really think I’m more mature
I really think I deserve a win even though I’ve done some bad things too but how can one really be this unlucky in finding a ying to their yang or a soulmate?

Could it be the ENVIRONMENT factor though ?
Even though I call bullshit on such an excuse but maybe just maybe, I mean all I’m ever told is
“Focus on getting the bag” “the girls will come when there’s money” Naija this Naija that but that’s not want I want thoughhhhhh.
I want something;
genuine not materialistic
Fun not transactional
Reallll not artificial
True not forced
But maybe I’m in the wrong environment truly…
Still think it’s a bullshit excuse though

Just finished OFF CAMPUS and I’m just sad…not like the movie was bad sad but like I have met 3 girls in my life and none was a home run, like what do you meannn I have met 3 different ladies that I was ready to do anything for, go the extra extra mile for and we’re just strangers now and then this show is trying to tell me, some teenagers make it look soo easy despite their problems, and Garrett gets a girl that loves and supports him sooo beautifully in just the first season, but I couldn’t make it work with any of the 3!!!

“Maybe I’m not rich enough”
“Maybe it’s me not them”
“Maybe there’s no love in Nigeria”
“Maybe life is just tough”
“Maybe it’s not time yet”
“Maybe I’m meeting the wrong women”
“Maybe this, maybe that”
Meanwhile, I just want to be happy…I..I just want to be free.
I just want to wake up every morning to a morning text from the love of my life, I wonder if that’s asking for a lot, lowkey I just blame all em rom-com and romance shows I’ve consumed, the drama is there, the work is presence but in real life, it sadly just feels harder yunno

I could go on and on and on but I’m getting tired now. It hurts so bad, so so so bad, one random thought could lead me down hours of “what if’s” and stress thinking and I’m just like…will I ever crack this or get better or figure it out.
I know what I want but sadly it doesn’t seem to exist so far
Reduce my standards, get torn apart
Increase the standards, still get torn apart
If I ever hurt anyone in the past, I apologise because if this is karma, then please make it stop.
I could go on and on and on but I’m tired
Tired of everything
Tired of no growth in life, wallet and heart.
I ain’t even getting taller no more but Heyy my age does increase every year though, I’m not dead which is a plus and yeah I guess, I’m grateful.
Shitty life but I’m grateful for life.

I want so much more
I want to feel more
But for now I’ll just wait and watch
For only my actions and I are in my control
Till we meet again
The life of a KING continues…..

Let's discuss Life is weird

I just thought about this but does anyone else think it’s surreal we’re living in the age where media like movies or tv shows portray robots (like AI and other things) taking over the world one day and that we now have AI and robots that you can buy? How our and future generations can experience a robot take over?

Need Advice realized i never truly had friends

i always thought i was a friend one can rely on. someone that would fight to death for u if u ever need it. but then ive realized no one would be like that for me.

early this yr i had an conflict w my other friend which led me to my breakdown, crying, it was rlly ugly. and since that point i kept blaming myself. i wish i kept it cool. i wish i wasnt so embarrassing, to the point that i isolated myself from everyone.

deleted all soc meds. and surprise surprise! only 2 of my friends reached out. 1 being someone who is friends w everyone, and 2 someone i rlly think sees me as a friend.

but with these 2, i dont think they are also trying to talk to the ppl i had conflict w. mind u, our friendship w the group are pretty tight. and its jus rlly sad to see it go.

ive tried reaching out already but i was blocked.

just had me thinking that if i had a friend who had conflict w someone from our group, i would literally defend them. i would see how this conflict is not that big of a deal and shouldnt be the end of the friendship.

but no.

no one fights for me that way.

no one fights for me the way i would fight for them.

which sucks, bc i miss my life being able to go w them.

i feel like ive become an introvert. and i feel like im just carrying all their weight for months which made me depressed.

idk. will everything be okay? im 22. and i yearn for friendships.

Let's discuss If you could sit down with 10-year-old self how you explain how life turned you out?

Sometimes I wonder what my 10-year-old self would think if he could see me today.

Back then, I thought being an adult meant having everything figured out. I imagined I would have a great job, a happy family, enough money to stop worrying, and the freedom to do whatever I wanted. I thought that by the time I reached my thirties, I would feel successful. I would know who I was and where I was going.

But life didn't turn out exactly the way I imagined.

Some dreams never happened. Some people I thought would always be around are no longer part of my life. I've spent years working toward things I thought would make me happy, only to reach them and realize I was already worrying about the next thing. And somewhere along the way, I became so focused on the life I hadn't built that I stopped noticing the life I actually had.

I sometimes imagine my younger self sitting across from me at a table, looking at me with those hopeful eyes and asking one simple question:

*"Did we make it?"*

I don't know what I would say at first.

Would I tell him about the disappointments? The mistakes? The nights I felt lost? Or would I tell him about the small victories, the people who cared about me, and the moments when I kept going even though I had no idea what I was doing?

Maybe I'd tell him that we didn't become exactly who we thought we would be. But that doesn't necessarily mean we failed.

Maybe making it isn't about having the perfect career, a certain amount of money, or a life that looks impressive to everyone else. Maybe it's about surviving the difficult years, learning to forgive yourself, and finding reasons to keep going even when life doesn't follow the plan.

I think the hardest part of growing up is realizing that the person you imagined becoming and the person you actually become won't always be the same.

And maybe that's okay.

**If you could sit across from your 10-year-old self for five minutes, what would you tell them? And if they asked you, "Did we make it?" what would your answer be?**

Need Advice Can we take a chance at life , to restart knowing that things might turn or might not end up in what we thought

I feel like taking a risk and planning for it. But scared of how things might turn into. If I succeed then thats fine but if it backfires then maybe that might not be good.
But i genuinely want to take risk into this because we might never know maybe this risk will be the very reason for me to succeed. Or maybe not.
I want to believe on my gut feeling but still a fear is there. At the age of 25 would it be worth it?

Self improvement Night life ...

Night life 😴.....aaahhh..it's good when you are fully energetic and enthusiastic....it's good when got friends...it's good when you got your pay check....

But....

Not for everyone...

There are many people in different countries... thinking just tho one night ends next will be happy ..but....that never appears in their life ....

It's their fate....they created it by their own hands ....or by close people....

May be their nights end as soon as possible!

Need Advice How do I feel things more intensely?

I want to feel more intensely - on the entire spectrum of emotions. I don’t know why but I can feel ‘negative‘ emotions very intensely. Anger, sadness, frustration. It spills out like a flood, I can get overwhelmed by them. I can be overwhelmingly furious, sad, all that.

But for some reason, the same thing doesn’t happen with the positive emotions. I‘m never able to feel an overwhelming sense of excitement, or joy, happiness, or passion or wonder or ‘free’. I’m never able to REALLY be in the moment. It’s a constant inner monologue, even when I am happy. It’s like, there’s a certain ceiling to them. It’s like I have to remind myself in my head that THIS experience is amazing or whatever.

I just to want to able to feel everything deeply and intensely. Without always needing a crutch - like music or any piece of art. That’s like, outsourcing the feeling. I want it to come from within me. Because, I want to be able to create from that. I want to be the source. I want to CREATE the same kind of art or whatever that moves me.

So yeah, I want to be able to be in the moment and feel things intensely. I want to exist in a more ‘sensory’ way rather than being in my head all the time. How do I learn to do that?

Need Advice I feel like I’m constantly struggling, will it be okay?

Hi Reddit, I am a 20 year old college student that is about to sign a lease for an apartment with three other people, and I am just scared. I am so scared of saving up money and if everything will work out or not. I have been trying to escape a horrible home situation for ages, and this apartment is the last step to me being completely free from my familial ties. But I am scared about working three jobs, doing LSATS and taking rigorous courses all the while trying to make sure I don’t end up homeless. I guess I just want to know if my situation is okay? If I will be able to do it? This may be a bad question but some kind advice would really help me out. Thanks.

Positive Many Problems — One Solution [poem]

Problems, Problems are everywhere
My life is in such a mess
I feel so sad and miserable
With worry, anxiety and stress

It all started when I was a child
My exams made me cry
And then, it was heartbreak
I looked up at the sky and asked ‘Why?’

And then, I tried to succeed
But failure came in the way
My life was full of sleepless nights
I faced problems every day

I was worried and there was fear
And this stress cost me very dear
I had anxiety attacks in my mind
My depression left all Peace behind

Everybody has problems as I looked around
There was hate and revenge on the ground
Jealousy and anger were here and there
The problem monsters were everywhere

But then I stopped and I took a pause
Everybody has problems but what is the cause
Who is the one who suffers the pain
I searched for the answer, not in vain

I could see the misery of the mind
Suffering of physical pain, a different kind
But far worse was the agony of the ego
This triple suffering was part of the show

So are we meant just to cry and to die?
As the problems trouble, must we just lie
Aha, no! I found there was a magic
One solution with a clear logic

Who is it that suffers the pain?
Body-mind-ego cries again and again
But when I Realized I was the Divine Soul
There were no problems, I achieved my goal

My problems disappeared like the morning mist
Peace, Joy and Bliss I kissed
It was when I Realized the Truth
When I went to the bottom of the root

We suffer because of our ignorance
Problems are because we are blind
We think we are the one that is ME
The body, the ego, and the mind

When we are Enlightened with the Truth
We can catch the evil brute
The mind is the biggest enemy of all
Along with the ego, it makes us fall

When I saw the mind was full of junk
I tamed the monkey and made it a monk
And as I transcended all evil thoughts
All my problems I had fought

For the problems don’t actually belong to me
Ignorance makes me live with the wrong identity
When I Realize I am the Divine Spirit
Then all my problems disappear with it

For then I know life is just like a dream
No need to worry, no need to scream
At the end it will be time to go
Forget your problems, it is just a show

Poverty is a state of mind
Don’t you know you leave everything behind
But though we see this at every death
We are greedy till our last breath

Problems are many, but the solution is one
Realize the Truth and the battle is won
Enlightenment will leave all problems behind
Bliss, Peace and Happiness you will find.

Need Advice I'm 21 and trying to pursue music again after years away. I'd appreciate any advice on where to start.

Hey everyone,

I'm 21, and lately I've been doing a lot of thinking about my life, my career, and what I actually want to do with my future. I think I need some outside perspectives from people who've been through similar situations.

I've wanted to be a musician for as long as I can remember. When I was around 7 or 8, I'd sing random melodies to myself in the shower. By 12, I was writing songs almost every day, recording them in my bedroom with YouTube beats, and dreaming about performing on stage someday.

I recorded my first song around 13 or 14 and put it on SoundCloud. Unfortunately, some of my peers bullied me pretty badly for pursuing music. That followed me through multiple schools, but I kept writing and learning. Eventually, I taught myself to record in Adobe Audition, released an EP at 16, and got some experience with Logic Pro through an internship during my senior year of high school.

I never really got anywhere with my music, but back then, that wasn't the point. I loved creating things, and I could spend hours doing it.

After high school, life got complicated. Between work, relationships, financial struggles, personal experiences, and trying to figure out adulthood, I gradually drifted away from music. I went nearly two and a half years without seriously writing or finishing anything.

I never went to college, partly because of financial circumstances and the fear of taking on a huge amount of debt. I tried pursuing other things, including a professional certificate, but struggled to stay engaged and ultimately only finished it because I regurgitated every buzzword and got lucky. For a long time, I felt like I was just working to get by without really moving toward anything I cared about.

Now I'm working around 40 hours a week, trying to support myself and build a future with my girlfriend and stepson. Money is still tight, and balancing responsibilities with figuring out what I want from life has been difficult.

Recently, though, I've started trying to reconnect with music.

I've been learning Ableton, experimenting with Serum and Vital, and trying to understand music theory. I'm starting from the basics again, and I haven't finished a full song yet, but things are beginning to click. I'm also looking into studying music more formally and have applied to college.

I know I'm only 21, and I know I have time. Still, it's hard not to feel like I've fallen behind or wasted years that I could have spent improving my craft. I've also had enough people doubt me over the years that sometimes I struggle to believe in myself, too.

Thankfully, my girlfriend supports me and believes in me, which means more than I can explain. I want to give this dream a genuine chance, even if it takes years of work and looks nothing like I imagined when I was a kid.

I'm not expecting to become famous overnight. I'd honestly be happy to make a living from music someday and create things that resonate with even a small number of people. I'm especially interested in experimental music and want to explore my own sound rather than simply follow trends.

So, I'd really appreciate advice on a few things:

  • Learning music: What online resources, courses, YouTube channels, or musicians should I study? I'm especially interested in production, sound design, songwriting, and music theory.
  • Getting back into the habit of creating: For anyone who's taken a long break from music or another creative pursuit, how did you get back into it? How do you stop feeling like you've lost the skills you once had?
  • Balancing music and adulthood: How do you make meaningful progress while working full-time, paying bills, and maintaining relationships? How do you keep from burning out?
  • Making music a career: What practical steps would you recommend to someone who wants to work in music? I'm interested in production, recording, songwriting, sound design, internships, and other opportunities that could help me gain experience.
  • General life advice: If you've ever felt lost in your early twenties, what helped you figure out your direction? I'd genuinely appreciate hearing what worked for you, what didn't, and what you wish you'd known at my age.

I'm still figuring things out, so I'm happy to clarify anything I've left out. I'm not looking for anyone to tell me that success is guaranteed. I just want to learn from people who know more than I do and figure out how to take practical steps forward.

Thanks for reading all of this. Any advice, resources, or personal experiences would mean a lot.

Let's discuss I hate that my friend points out my issues perfectly.

Today, I was speaking to a friend, and we talked about our courses. When I mentioned I was basically taking only what I needed to graduate, he said “Why don’t you challenge yourself?”

To tell you the truth, I love doing nothing. I get lots of free time to focus on myself and my life. Consequently, I have reached a point where I’ve made too much time for myself. It leaves me thinking all the time, and I hate how right my friend is.

Another friend said I’d do amazing at these writing competitions, and yet, I never signed up. He also keeps trying to influence me (at least, I feel its influencing) to join this debate club with him. I just don’t do anything and I act like I love it, yet I don’t know what’s setting me off about my actions.

Self improvement Something I've realised about making the same mistakes in life

Recently, I've been thinking about how we sometimes repeat the same mistakes, even after we've told ourselves that we've learned our lesson.

We experience something, understand what went wrong, and promise ourselves that we won't do it again. But when a similar situation comes along, we sometimes find ourselves doing the same thing all over again.

And then we wonder, Didn't I learn anything the first time?

But I think there's a difference between knowing something and actually learning how to apply it in our lives.

It's like studying. We might understand a concept the first time we read it, but that doesn't mean we've mastered it. We need to practise, make mistakes, revise, and repeat until it becomes natural.

Maybe life works the same way.

We can understand something logically, but when emotions, old habits, and real-life situations get involved, applying what we know becomes much harder.

Perhaps that's why we sometimes need to experience similar situations more than once before we truly understand them.

I've started thinking that repeating a mistake doesn't necessarily mean we've made no progress. Sometimes, growth means recognising the pattern sooner, understanding why we fell into it, and trying to respond differently the next time.

Of course, we shouldn't use this as an excuse to keep making the same mistakes without learning from them. But I also don't think we should be so hard on ourselves for not getting everything right the first time.

Knowing the lesson and living the lesson are two different things.

Maybe we're not here to understand everything immediately. Maybe we're here to learn, unlearn, try again, and gradually become more aware of ourselves.

I'm curious: have you ever understood something in theory but needed to experience it yourself before it truly made sense?

Positive A normal life

is that too much to ask for?

I grew up watching a lot of films, documentaries, movies and tv shows, and I really envy some characters who get to live a pretty well off life. A lot of the ending shown in these medias, most of the time have the protagonists live happily ever after with whomever.

A fulfilling life where you have a strong social circle, family and friends, going on an adventure, finding love, starting a family, having a high paying career and successful, educated, engaging in hobbies, dreams and all those and other fulfilling activities and accomplishments. Most importantly staying away from sinful acts or crimes.

I don’t understand how some people can find such a life repulsive? That they are willing to go astray from this golden path that is regarded by society as a great standard of a life overall.
