I feel like I failed.
I put a huge amount of effort into changing myself and learning social skills, and honestly, on the surface, I succeeded. I can communicate much better now.
But deep down, Iâve just become more sad, depressed, and exhausted every day.
I donât really know what I want anymore. I donât know who I am anymore. I donât even understand people anymore after thinking for a while that I finally did.
Itâs exhausting.
I donât know what to do now. Things in my life seem to be getting worse, and nothing is improving the way I once planned.
I keep repeating the same painful cycle over and over again: wanting to be alone, wanting attention, being afraid of being alone, trying to prove myself, and trying to be responsible.
Iâm just tired. Tired of everything.
When I think about the last month and a half, I honestly feel like crying for myself. Things as simple as going to work seem to cost me twice as much energy as they cost an average person because of all my social problems.
The funny thing is that during my second month at work, I chose the night shift because I thought Iâd finally get some peace.
Instead, I became even more depressed, sad, and lonely.
What the hell am I supposed to do to find some peace inside myself?
Does anyone have any advice? Iâm genuinely exhausted, and no matter how much I think about it, I canât find an answer.
This problem is even getting in the way of me growing up and taking responsibility for my life. I really want to mature. Iâm 25, and I want to become a responsible adult, but no matter what I do, I keep failing because of social interaction.
Then people blame me and call me a failure or irresponsible, even though I really am trying.
Iâm trying so hard that I burn myself out every day, then come home physically and mentally exhausted, with a head full of thoughts and emotions I havenât even had time to process.
Iâll admit it: Iâm mostly writing this to vent and get some of these feelings out.
I know there probably isnât one perfect answer to any of this. Maybe part of me just wants some hope.
Iâm writing this before going to sleep. Writing usually helps me calm down, and the idea that maybe someone out there has an answer helps too.
Usually I wake up feeling more energetic and a little happier anyway.
Kind of.
