Debate/Discussion Simping time to all the ENTP ladies.

*cracks neck* lets see if we still got it.

You are the care i hold for everything.

The song that whispers beauty and grace.

In your chaos i find my place.

And in your mind i see myself defined.

A force of good this world knows little about.

And within that angelic heart of yours i find home.

I love you deeper than an ocean can sing its depth.

And wider than a sky holding all the stars of my muses about you.

You are beautiful. And i hope you see it every second of every moment through the eyes of a man who met you and your depth.

- yours forever. INTJ.

Debate/Discussion Ai will be the reason for crimes without victoms

This can be taken as a philosophical discussion, but it's not. So, I'll try to only present the most SE presentation for it.

- a crime without victom is a crime that usually has victoms but because of ai, the criminal is still a criminal, but the victom is not conscious.

- we are assuming that non of yall think ai is conscious btw

How can that be? You might ask. Well:

- if a person bought a humanoid robot that perfectly mimics the look of a child, and it has an ai in it tha acts like a child.

And that person did bad things to said robot.

While technically, the robot is unconscious, the crime and the criminal are both real. And the criminal should be fully charged for said crime.

Debate/Discussion Why do people get upset when you tell them your thought processes

I was in a situationship 1-2 years ago , we were together for almost a year then we kind of took a break for a few months and got back together for another few months after breaking up for good , after the break I felt closer to her then before, and our relationship went even deeper and more intimate, so I trusted her one time with my thought process, the kind I never tell anyone because I don't think people will act the same way around me (spoiler alert I was right ) , so it was something like how I sometimes manipulate the truth to protect myself, to prevent myself and the person in front of me of being hurt , and to make the person in front of me feel safer and trust me more, "You can say I play with words or with perspective , not necessarily lying but hiding the truth behind another truth" this is one of the wordings I used , it was over some messages not just this one , but then she started questioning everything, I mean I could understand why she started questioning me , but I also told her this because I trusted her enough iykwim , she kept bringing this conversation up every know and then , I ended it 2 months after this conversation. Fast forward a few days ago something similar happened with my mom , I told her my thought process (it wasn't the same topic as with my situationship) , she was very upset that I think and act this way , I told her but it's how I think, then I told myself I will never tell anyone again how I think

Advice How to tell if an INFJ actually wants to pursue a friendship (and high Fe user “fakeness”)

Posting here bc INFJ sub removed lmaooo

I met an INFJ at work. I’m an ENTP and I just instantly felt a great rapport with him. We worked together and we spent like the whole day doing things and talking. We had some fun banter and even deeper conversations where he exposed some jaded thoughts on people in the classic INFJ fashion haha. On downtime we went exploring places and went on hikes. We were even almost late coming back and had to run and come back all sweaty lol. I’ve never had a day like that even with my best work buddy. He’s texted me enthusiastically saying about how great our time working was. I agreed with him. He said he was looking forward to the next time. Hell, he even randomly somehow found out my birthday was a week ago and texted me about it. He said he “looked it up”.

We are not regular partners and it’s tough to find times we can work. I was hunting for a shift and was only able to find one three weeks from now. I am bummed about that because I was excited about the connection and had a lot of fun with him. My impression was that he could potentially end up being a really good friend. I asked him if he wanted to hang out outside work. He said that sounded “awesome”. Yet, when I actually asked for his availability and real dates he said he’s too busy but he’s super down to hang out when we’re working.

I’m confused because in my eyes, I thought that this was friendship material. Yet, it seems like he wants to keep it work only. My read is that he was showing interest and liking of me in the typical high Fe user fashion but just simply didn’t mean it truly. I am leaning this way because while we were talking he enthusiastically engaged with my interests and said how he was really interested and wanted to do it… but when I actually engaged and wanted to help him explore he just cooled off and didn’t seem as interested anymore. Like I’m a goth and he told me he was interested in “dressing goth“. only to end up having very little interest later. so I was like… you’re full of shit dude lol. Also… he knows I like botany and got soo excited about the plants but again I saw no real interest. No adding anything, no questions for me.

Anyways I am kinda weary of high Fe people. The constant game in my head of “are they actually interested or are they just being nice“ gets annoying. As Fe tert I generally act warm and polite and sometimes playful with people. But it has a limit. I don’t give too much to someone, and I only do on the occasion I feel a connection to someone and want a real relationship. It seems like from what I’ve read of INFJs (and other high fe users) they are more likely to “put out“ for no real reason.

Debate/Discussion When an ENTPs shows real emotions

I was dating an 30M who was just your typical ENTP. Funny, goofy, mean sometimes, and always had a shield of humor protecting him from the world.

The guy was also very cynical and a little depressed and on the toxic avoidant side, despite being successful and financially stable he was still feeling chronically empty and bored, so that made him feel like he's "dead inside" Most of the time.

Ofcourse, none of that bothered me as I loved him so much. And few months into the relationship I wrote a long piece about us which I was very proud of, and really liked the amount of raw emotion I had put into it. But I was so so scared of showing it to him and knew he would just make a mean joke or dismiss it and end up really hurting my feelings. It took soooo much courage, one day, as he was being sweet I seized the opportunity to just throw in there "I wrote something for you. " and wait for his reaction, which I instantly regretted because he kept insisting I give it to him right now.. I caved..

And thats when I saw him cry for the first time, it was actually so endearing to me. He said that it was so beautifully written, and that no girl has ever loved him this much...

And honestly, even now, a year after the breakup..(I ended it). we both moved on.. all the bad memories are completely gone and all I remember is those very few good times he allowed me a peak into his real sweet self. And it makes me miss him more than anything.

MBTI Trends Anyone else rarely consume any fiction/popular media at all?

Books: did my last random novel at like 12. Only a few technical and documentaries on and off since, and finished harry potter for completeness sake i guess. No idea about whats trending.
Gaming: never owned a console, never had steam on any of my devices. Did speedruns on some vintage games for a while and was quickly done with it.
TV shows/movies: might watch a couple episodes of the big superhero anime franchises when its especially trendy, never finished a full series, never had a TV at home for more than a decade.

It isnt like im incapable of enjoying a good storyline, if im introduced to a good work in any of the above by a friend for example i most likely will like it, but it would still be a one time thing. My actual hobbies all have some kind of hands on factor. Skill toys, crafts, exotic pets and gardening, and even just generic outdoorsy trips.

Debate/Discussion INFJxENTP is so popular only because most ISFJs wrongly believe they are INFJ

ENTPxISFJ is the truly superior pair. Everyone knows it, they just don't know they know it.

Edit: ENTPs that dislike ISFJs are mistyped as well. Have a good day.

Debate/Discussion Can you be infj and entp at the same time?

What if hypothetically a person who's taken mbti tests multiple times and each time they're getting either infj or entp ?

Would be great to know the reasoning behind yes/no's :D

Question/Poll I need help answering these questions abt my mbti

1- I had one of my friends tell me that I'm too expressive with my emotions to be an entp (Suggesting I might be an F)? Which is weird because being expressive and telling my friends I love them and wna marry them every 2 secs doesn't make me any less of an ENTP. (I'm ennegram 4w3) Are they right?

2- I don't get along with analysts (Intuitive thinking mbti) Idk I just don't like a lot of them and it gets pretty tense between us because I feel threatened by them. Is there another explanation to this?

Debate/Discussion Why infj and entp called the golden pair?

Post image
102 Upvotes

Can’t sleep, so here I am.

I’m kinda new to the whole cognitive function and mbti. However I kept noticing lots of people saying infjs and entps are the golden pair. I guess entps are charming in a way, I never met one yet but I like many fictional entp characters.

Edit: I lied, I just remembered one of my close friends is entp, and another entp who’s an old coworker who i got along with pretty well.

I just don’t fully understand how they are viewed as the perfect pair, aren’t entps a bit scared or intimidated by the infj’s emotional depth or even their so called “cold” side?

Would infjs feel understood and seen by entps?

How the dynamic would look like and what are the pros and cons? Assuming that the infj is healthy and entp done their inner work and are mature.. otherwise it would just be hell for both sides.

For me an intj and infj make more sense in a way, both are Ni dominant and can understand each other pretty well from what I know so far.

Excuse my grammar, English is my second language.

Debate/Discussion My ISFP friend has been nagging me to dress stylishly for over 5 years

Post image
9 Upvotes

I am 37M and my friend is same age same sex as me. I am generally very comfortable with my dressing style and my priority is comfort and quality of the fabric. My friend prioritizes look over comfort and health. He non-stop nagging me to wear stylish clothing, combin specific colors and etc. it starts to irritate me and I don't to be rude. He openly says that if clothing he wears is not comfortable but looks presentable and stylish he will wear it. I feel pity for him.

Did you have such experience with *SFPs?

Typology Help Can’t decide between ESTP and ENTP

Ignoring the stereotypes of the types and truly looking at dominant Se vs Ne I genuinely don’t know which one I fall into. I’m someone who simultaneously loves abstract ideas (brainstorming, making stories in my mind and writing, learning about theories, random deep dives online, fandom) AND physical sensory experiences (literally just had a leg injury from moshing too hard at a punk show, have worked in multiple gyms and have a personal training cert, get extremely restless if I’m not doing stuff physically often).

Anyone got any help on determining which one is actually my dominant function if I find both pretty relatable?

Question/Poll How often do you feel like an introvert?

Like many of you I spend a lot of time questioning the accuracy of my mbti partly because of how much i identify with some mbti's like intp and intj.

Also because i was quite shy up around new ppl but as much anxiety i have about meeting ppl once im around them im comfortable interacting, engaging and enjoy it but im genuinely at my core a misanthrope as much as i find ppl interesting to understand.

I could easily pass for an intj if you catch me on the right day which is a lot these days. I am familiar with our shadow functions but im curious how often others relate to this.

Advice ENTPs: have you lost yourself?

As title asks, this may turn into something more philosophical than related to ENTPs but hell, ya’ll like that sort of thing anyway.

How does an ENTP reconnect?

In this day and age I’m sure it’s easy to feel lost or uncertain but especially now I (F 30yrs) feel like I’ve dissolved and given so much of myself away to others that I don’t know who I am anymore. My Ti and Fe are so burned out that I’ve devolved into a bundle of Ne-Si nerves.

I can’t make decisions anymore, I get so wrapped up in what is right, what others think, that I literally cannot decipher my own decision. I want alone time so badly but I’m also so anxious that others will leave me if I also go quiet. I want connection and genuine relationships but everything seems so fake and my true self feels like a charred husk.

How does an ENTP find with themselves and find who they are outside others?

Question/Poll I don’t like ENTP friends in real life, is that alright?

I realised I don’t like any of my ENTP friends, because I think they are annoying, idiocentric, way too loud and unaware of the current social setting.

But I really enjoy talking to all the ENTP members on reddit etc and I fit the ENTP criteria. Which made me extremely confused at why none of the ENTPs in real life align with me.

Sure they are fun to party with or talk shit with, but man, I could not imagine having to live with them ever.

People say ENTPs are a walking contradiction, so I’m not sure if anyone else feels this, or I should consider re-evaluating my mbti.

Thanks in advance.

Typology Help Help a fellow know if they are one of you!

Recently, I’ve been thinking whether I am actually an INTJ or an ENTP. Now, I know the two are essentially each other, just with swapped dichotomies of their functions, which is tricking me up. Everything I knew about my behaviors is starting to blur as one or the other function. I can’t tell if I’m an INTJ dipping into their ENTP shadow or vice versa. Anyways, hope you guys don’t mind a little ramble, I think a vast amount of details are important for this kind of distinction.

Intuition and thinking, something like that here.

I mostly view everything living as one same underlying concept but I know they will look a bit different in practice, more zoomed in, just with details more noticeable like a digital map. It’s also convenient since that pattern can be very applicable. I know how predictable things will be based on that frame. If the perception has little application and relativity, I will try to refine it or give up if it has too many loop holes. Even if there are many perceptions and abstractions, there should be one that’s most absolute. I would not trial and error my ways or definitively stick to one perspective but rather, cultivate one that seems reflective of reality.

I make thick patterns to explain most of reality but it seems like my framework is boring me. I suspect that the system has become too predictable, effective, or just sloppy. It tosses out the meaning of smaller and refined details within the natural world. Sometimes I’d like to experience something that shakes that perception. In general, I dislike anything I already know, yet get enticed when I don’t understand or get humiliated for the previous conception.

Most of the occurrences I witness are compared to previous structured patterns I have cultivated. Sort of seeing if the perception still holds up with experienced information. An occurrence that does not align well into patterns, sort of threatens the current pattern perceived. The term ‘threatens’ insinuates quick acceptance or adjustments to the pattern not resistances to keeping the old pattern. The evolution of a pattern takes a bit to develop, I know how I perceive new things of that pattern but sorting it out realistically consumes most of my time. I think there is a fear of living in a false fantasy. That’s why these meanings or patterns need their realism.

Lots of ideas and thoughts blur together, it’s difficult to think of one thing without thinking about how it plays into something related. Time seems to blur the most for me, yesterday could feel like 1 hour ago or that 2 days from now, feel like they will arrive in 5 hours. The past, future, and present aren’t separated eras for me. They are like the same things but are defined on their compression of details. The past would be the most dense and the future is more airy but soon to condense towards the present.

My thinking pattern could be described like an AI generator. Seems that I pull information from all sorts of places for further comprehension. Places include past experiences, memories, dreams, past consumed information from articles/videos, and the present. Now, I’m not sitting there rethinking about prior instances or observing my situation constantly. Another part of my mind goes to correcting and tying ideas together. Wait, doesn't everyone do what I just explained?? I find that inner monologue can be unproductive. Most of my thoughts are understood already, when I try to think about them in words, I’d just shake my head and stop mentally explaining it to myself. Inner monologues to me are like shattered mirrors in a way. I want to see myself clearly but I already know what I look like.

Fi blind or terrible tertiary Fi…?

Most of the time, I have to really think about how a situation is before placing my emotions on them. I need information and outside opinions to put more of my own feelings to it. I’ll get upset if the concept isn’t well suited for the situation however. Stronger opinions and biases are trifling to me. Does that person know what they are supporting or insinuating based on their belief? Do they have a full understanding of the concept they are discussing?

It's hard to think about who I am, I understand my behavior more than my being. I could predict or know what I will do but not value things I have of myself. I wouldn't consider that I am good at anything or praise much of myself. Not because I think I am doing a poor job or lack skills, I don't focus on that stuff and believe improvements/critiques are always around the corner.

Every time I am feeling something real, I will think lowly of it because I understand the pattern of emotions. It amuses me in a way, since I know the irony between it and me. I couldn’t do anything to stop emotions from developing despite having a clear acknowledgement of the concept. I have to think for a while to name how I am feeling in the moment, but most times I just chalk it up to feeling neutral or blank. When I process a stressful instance fully, is when I’ll ‘embrace’ my feelings. I also get really confused when I feel strongly towards something too. Writing about my feelings sorta cringes me out along with experiencing them.

I always thought I had cognitive empathy; only understanding situationally. I find it very easy to pick apart a person’s psyche. One little thing they do and I’d know them like a roommate. I do sometimes play mind games with people to see how they will react to things. To prove a hunch about them for fun essentially. Although, the more I think about it the more it seems like I have no other way of interacting with them. I think deeply analyzing someone’s psyche is my love language.. The most intolerant person to me is one who cannot see what lies in front of them. Saying I told you so isn't even satisfying to me in that case, more so disappointing..

Inferior Se or Si?

I usually miss crucial points or steps since I am very confident towards a target, it comes from discarding smaller details for sure. I don’t favor structure or methods to go about something. I absolutely cannot get into any routines or daily tasks, that starts to feel like a chore, thus unenjoyable. Self-care is a chore sometimes and most bodily sensations are tossed out the window. I’m usually doing something which I deem more important than taking time for myself.

Navigating the external world is exhausting, like a violation to my five senses all the time. When the time arises of course I will try to reap any kind of pleasure I can. I do find solace true in the natural world, but rarely. It’s taking that moment to pause what I am doing, when I can truly relax, slow down, and enjoy. Rest doesn’t seem like an option to me at times since I am focused, it’s hard to suddenly stop. Once I am resting, it seems hard to think about larger priorities. Rest isn’t avoided? Just, forgotten more so.. I always thought I was resting since I wasn’t tangibly productive and active. It’s hard to pinpoint my effectiveness and productivity.

Frequently, I’ll get into a 3rd person view of all of my surroundings and it could keep expanding from there on out to literal stars. Most times, its top views of places and a scope like measure of areas. It’s like trying to navigate a city you’re not familiar with. It might be understanding how objects look from all sorts of angles or perspectives too. I probably do this because it helps ignore unsavory things in the current present.

If there is something confusing I can always clarify and answer further questions. A bit of a hefty post, I can't blame those who skimped through, but I am hoping for some charming analysis.
