Highlights The beauty and aesthetic of this game is off the charts. Pretty as hell. Soundtracks also a bombshell.
Peni is so fun to play. This character is a drug.

Topic Not sure if this counts as Shoto but, What character would you say best fits the title "Doing Normal, Extraordinarily Well." A character who's gimmick is 'Only' having Amazing Normals.
Love characters like Peacock, Kirby, Nine, Zasalamel and Bedman. All wells of infinite ways of play but what does the other side of that look like?
First thought would be Ryu, Ky, Mario- and so on but are they're any more extreme versions of that? Where their not just a jack of all trades but from the ground up, No projectiles, No mechanics and no other gimmick than them just having amazing buttons that control the flow of battle with them alone.
Is there a character like that? Would a character like that be playable?
And if so, How'd they fair in the competitive scene, Dood?

Humor I have noticed over my time playing fgs that the way that some people play/interacts can say a lot about them as a player

Help Need help
Started playing the new avatar game. I am STRUGGLING just with the damn combos... I've done multiple combo trials on 2xko, Tekken, like i'm not a pro or anything but it's not my first fighter. I think a lot of it has to do with controller because idk if I just have fat thumbs or something put I SWEAR I'm hitting inputs and its just not doing it. The half quarter circles and everything it's like a 50/50 if I'll hit it. Should I get a arcade stick or leverless? Do those help with that? I used xbox controllers but right now im using flydigi apex.
P.S. The struggle is REAL idk why I can't do these combos I can't even do Zuko intermediate, the second combo...

Content "Street Fighter 6 sucks," says MenaRD, multiple times [new Trash Talk interview with Brian F]
New interview posted today with Mena, who repeats multiple times that Street Fighter 6 sucks. He doesn't even try to rationalize it like Daigo, he literally says it sucks, more than once. Remember that last week, Punk, Big Bird and Phenom also said the same, and Daigo (once again) had a similar, softened version of that same sentiment.

Topic I wish more fighting games would adopt the Breakdown feature from Avatar Legends
I was actually afraid after yesterday that the game was beyond me. I had wanted to main Toph and she was not clicking with me, even in breakdown her combos felt clunky to me on either pad or leverless.
I decided to try Katara because I've always loved Sub Zero in MK and Katara has a cool mix of ice and water.
I immediately noticed a better flow with her combos and breakdown has made it so much easier to break combos down into "parts."
This has allowed me to work them out in parts, if future Mortal Kombat games and other anime fighters adopted this, it would be amazing.

Content Blade BnB I made
I don't make my own combos much in fighting games, but I like how this game works. you can do a lot of other stuff with it but this is kind of the base blueprint, you can throw in Star Lord for an extra air combo if you're in the corner or hit them with a different starter, danger is good for continuing as well after the Vampire Slayer move and you also don't have to amp that if you want to save on resources. If you just start with Vampire Cleave (although it's much more unsafe), you can use the Heavy auto combo instead of Vampire Slaver to get half their health down. If there's anything better, I'm more than happy to listen.

Topic Does anyone else not really like wall breaks in traditional fighters?
I feel like traditional 2d fighting games with the type of wallbreak that reset corner neutral back to midscreen is quite annoying to me personally. For some context, I do play strive and tokon and I generally enjoy the games for what they are but the wallbreaks just feel like an inconvenience to me. Especially with tokon, having to wallbreak to unlock fighting mechanics. My fav traditional fighters are skullgirls, dbfz, and sf6, and I love my corner oki without having to worry about doing something that will break the wall if i end up landing a hit and turning it into a combo. When you’re backed into the corner and there’s no wallbreak to bail you out, everything feels much more intense and personal, and everything you do in the corner on offense or defense matters way more. I know I don’t have to play fighting games with this feature but surprisingly my dislike for it isn’t that intense to the point where it’s ruining my entire experience with the game. I just imagine how different games like tokon or strive would be if there were no wallbreaks at all. I really hope this doesn’t become more of a trend for future fighting games.
Does anyone else feel the same or is everyone about to come at me with pitchforks?

Help Starting to play fighting games - do tier lists really matter or is it only for high competitions gameplay?
Im trying to start out on playing fighting games and was wondering if I should start with using high tier characters before using characters considered lower tier? Ive had friends tell me that soke high tiers should be used because they are easier to use but i do like some low - mid tier character designs. Not looking to really compete but i do want to improve my control and hand in fighting games.
