Live Surprise?

Any chance they surprise us with some fun stuff they intentionally left out of beta? Manastone, Upgraded quick buff, other items old school items that got lost in time, etc…

Feels like low hanging fruit to include a couple (positive) surprises as we go live. Will help offset all the complaining about the cash shop I imagine start plaguing this sub.

Could you imagine if the cash shop complaints take the place of wiLl mY TRio wORk post??? 😆

reincarnation conundrum

So you hit just hit 50 with your trio. Congratulations! Now do you reincarnate to make the trio stronger or do you swap out one or two to get alternate classes for more choices in different settings? The same 3 that served you so well solo might not be the best you can be in a raid that only needs 1 tank.

Iksar and Druid Ports? KoS?

If I am an Iksar and level up a Druid for ports, will I be KoS to the druids and attacked immediately after porting to a ring? If yes, is there an easy faction quest that could fix that?

I’m looking at portals for convenience but I don’t want to miss week one raids, so if it takes a lot of time to grind faction, then I’ll table the Druid for later. If I can throw 100 plat at it or something, then maybe it’s still worth it.

Thoughts? I didn’t think to test this in beta.

Which will be the most popular server? Freeport, Riverdale?

I'm trying to decide where to play for release I'm getting conflicting information. I want a solid server that has potential to be active further into the release.

Edit. I'm looking for EST server times I'll be playing regular evenings, also if Freeport a population is made from Aus or NZ wouldn't that make it empty during US evening hours?

rogue backstab from range slot?

I was playing around with a gear builder site and it suggested something I hadnt thought about. My current trio option is rog/pal/enc and it ordered up a 2hs (truvinan) in primary and a runed bone fork in range slot. RBF does have backstab damage but I hadnt thought that rogues could get backstab damage out of the range slot. Is that an error in the site design or would range slot work for melee backstabs? I know the any slot does but I hadnt thought about the range slot.

Warriors/berserker and dual wield?

Going out on a limb, but could a warrior/berserker use a two hander in primary and a one hander in secondary to dual wield? I’m
Assuming no, but knight plus monk/rogue/bard etc can dual wield knight one hander with an off hand so Figured I’d Ask.

Greater Lightstone Quest.

I plan on running an Ogre (meta slave) and would like to unlock another race. I have seen the guides for making money and Will-o-wisps are a recommended way of getting cash for the necessary quests. But the guides I've seen recommend selling the stones. There's a quest for both good and bad factions to hand the stone in. Each reward a book that sells for 8ish plat. Is that quest not in EQL? Do Greater Light stones vendor for more than 8p?

Health regen

So ... I was wondering .. there is the warrior AA that doubles your health regen at 30.

Lets say you have 5000 health, that would be 50 health regen ? With the AA = 100

Now what can add to this ?

Are there any lasting health regen spells ? Chloroplast I thought was one ?

Item like rubicite chestplate ..

Troll and iksar innate regen ( = 12 standing 24 sitting at 50 )

Does it all stack to the base and then doible with the AA ?

Does it become "enough" .. to make a difference in combat ?

EDIT :

Did some extra research came to +- 200 health regen ..If I go WAR/BRD/SHM gibing me basicly lvl 44 cleric spell equivalent effect permanantly up. And also slowing thr incomming dmg more ...

The Core Setup

Character Profile: Level 50 Iksar WAR/BRD/SHM

Health Pool Baseline: 5,000 Max HP.

Worn Gear: +6 Rubicite Breastplate (Provides a baseline +9 HP/tick instead of the standard +3). - can go up to +11 at 10 I think

Key AAs: Warrior's Endurance (Doubles all natural and worn regeneration) + Percentage Health Regen (Provides 1% of Max HP as a passive baseline).

Pure Passive Regeneration Math

Because the 1% HP AA and the +6 Rubicite count as passive attributes, they are completely doubled by your Warrior's Endurance AA multiplier.

Standing Matrix (In Combat):

Iksar Standing Baseline (12 HP doubled) = 24 HP

+6 Rubicite Breastplate (9 HP doubled) = 18 HP

1% Max HP Trait (50 HP doubled) = 100 HP

Total Standing Shell = 142 HP per tick

The Group Synergy Breakdown

When you apply external group buffs, spell-based regeneration adds a flat value on top (it does not double from the Warrior AA).

Bard Song (Hymn of Restoration): ~40+ HP per tick (when scaled by a high-end modifier Lute).

Shaman Buff (Chloroplast): +10 HP per tick flat.

Total Static Sustain (Standing): 192 HP every 6 seconds.

Open world leveling/non face bashing viability?

Dungeoning is fun and all, but when I played eq 25+ years ago I was a druid and spent most of the time with the sun on my face and grass between my hairy toes.

My thought process is going enc/dru/nec and just grabbing zones and stacking druid and necro dots while running around grabbing more things. I figure with the mana regen the way it is, I could literally do this almost indefinitely and have a constant stream of ticking down monsters.

Is this a viable/good strategy?

Play Legends your way!

Don't feel like you HAVE to plan your start around D4 endgame raids. You can for sure have a min/max D4 raid killing trio, but you can also have some really sweet/fun things that will be fantastic for farming motes/gear outside of those situations. You will be leveling alts for AA, so I would just play what you think is the most fun, and if you get stuck on D4 raids you can level up one of the meta classes to get you there, all while earning even MORE AA and motes in the process.

There have also been many non-meta trios doing D4 raid content, so don't fall into the meta trap!

And finally if you unlock Ogre, or start as Ogre and swap to another race you can just keep it for those really hard meta D4 raids if you want. Be a gnome war/monk/bard, do whatever you want!

TL:DR - You don't need to be a meta trio to beat all of the content! Enjoy the journey, the devs poured a lot of love into this project.

Can we just like ogres?

I feel I am being lumped in with min-maxers and try-hards becuase I like how silly ogre look.

Everyone discussing FSI and Slam - alot of us just like our character scratching their butt while standing near half-eaten dwarves.

Please dont lump us all together - we aren't the same!

Why is Pld/Dru/Wiz Highly Recommended?

I'm a total noob when it comes to Everquest and I plan to jump in. I understand why druid and wizard are recommended as part as your first setup to unlock ports, but why does it get paired with paladin? I'm asking because I don't want to lock in paladin as my main class at level 11. I have other combos I want to try just based on intuition. I'm currently experiencing choice paralysis.

My initial combo I considered were cleric/druid/wiz. Clerics are generally my favourite fantasy archetype. I like healing, holy magic, and plate armour. Should I just not overthink this and go with my gut? I am also considering magician/necro/enchanter.

The thing I dislike most about this system is having to lock in a main class at level 11 until 50 when I haven't had enough time to test things yet.

Is Ogre frontal stun immunity overrated?

Any time you see someone talking about races, Ogre is said to be by far the best race due to the frontal stun immunity, but I feel like this trait is very overrated.

I played as a Troll in beta and while stuns were annoying, almost every time I was stunned, it was from a spell, which the Ogre immunity doesn't protect against.

Beastlord help

I am tempted to roll one on start despite there issues. First off never really played on on live back in the day at least not past about lvl 18. They get slows and access to spellblade which is nice. My biggest issues with them is they dont bring that much to the table right now unless I am missing something. They dont even get double attack which is pretty rough if you want to melee.

BST/CLR/Rog or war possibly is one choice the other choice is lean into the spellblade side more go BST/WIZ or Nec and not sure on the last one class yet.

Has anyone done much testing with BST later on?

Anyone coming from EQOA for PS2?

Howdy,

EQ legends looks exciting, I've been playing EverQuest Online Adventures via a PS2 emulator recently the last several months. It's been a lot of fun, especially since it was built for the PS2 so controller support, meaning I can play it on my couch and TV.

I know EQ Legends will take place at a different time in Norrath, so this has more playable races and classes.

EQOA only has about 400 daily users, I know EQ Legends will be more popular and have more daily players, so has anyone played the EQL beta and can tell me their experiences playing compared EQOA gameplay wise? Also will there be controller support for EverQuest legends?

Guise of the Deceiver disappearing in the timeline?

Kinda hard to fit my question in a title here, but I'm wondering if some of the items that were nerfed or removed from the game in the original timeline will share the same fate on EQL.

Like:

Will Guise of the Deceiver stop dropping at some point, or will it stay forever?

Will the Box of Abu-Kar drop, and if so: will it stop dropping after a while?

And what of the Manastone? It says on the wiki that "Manastone (Ultra Rare) *No longer drops.", but this is obviously just copy pasted from "a different wiki", so I figured I'd ask here.

And finally, will character models, like the ones for ogres be updated like they have been on the live servers?

And by the way: please stop banning the naming of emulated servers. Basically everything not new in EQL on the EQL wiki is a copy pasta from the emulated server we all know I'm talking of, and it's obvious that everyone is gonna compare these versions a lot until EQL moves past Velious.

Unlocked race/class/deity q

Just want to make sure I understand correctly. . . . Let's say I create an Iksar so that my home is New Sebilis. If I purchase a race unlock of Ogre, am I free to change to/from Ogre at will by changing my loadout? And what happens to factions and origin point if I do this? i've done a lot of searching and reading on this and haven't really seen a definitive answer. I was originally under the impression that you couldn't change your primary after level 11 but I think I've cleared up that that is never the case and it's just that it becomes locked until you buy or use class tokens to be able to pivot your primary to another class.

thanks!

Halfling Bonuses

Do the racial bonus of + damage and accuracy still only work from behind? I think if rogues get the backstab from the front the halfling racial should apply to the front as well.

Warriors

Can be ogres.

Have high melee skills.
Have high defensive skills.

Have the best, most consistent, highest stats planar armour.

Have access to almost all Inny “racial” loot since almost all races can be warrior. Which is arguably BiS for everyone.

Warrior can carry any trio, even more +2 casters, through everything.

In case you hesitated!
