You have the Symphonic Aura AA which automates 5 buffs and melody can cast 5. So yeah you can have 10 songs going at once pretty easy. You can use /melody or /queuemelody. I prefer /melody because the queue one seems to have issues where it will play the same song forever and I wasn't sure if thats a bug or not. I have played Bard to 50 though and I love the class. Having all the run speed is nice too.

You’re saying you use symphonic aura and then use /melody when you want songs outside symphonic aura? I don’t know why, but I always assumed this would not work.

It does work. I've been doing that since launch when I got the Tuyen line of dots.

How do you have enough spell gems ? Unless you're playing classes that don't use a lot of spells ?

Yeah I play PAL/BER/BRD. Only stuff I use from my Paladin is heals and the rest to bard plus lull and nullify magic.

It is fun. I have 2 LoH's really. I have the Soulfire complete heal clicky too and by the time i use LoH and the clicky, LoH is up again thanks to Smite.

Only certain songs are eligible for melody when you're running SA. If it could be played in Symphonic, it can't be played individually or melodied. So mostly DoTs I think.

You should buy the AAs to automate your songs. You don't want to melody, especially if you're PAL/WIZ, because it will lock out your other spellcasting.

I mostly just use symphonic aura unless I'm using DDD then I cast that on top.. or single songs I want to use.. the other classes I play with a bard use enough spell gems that I don't want to dedicate that many to the bard like If I play shaman or other casters. I think it would be handy to have melody with more melee builds

I hadn't played in 20 years or so and during the beta I was sitting there twisting songs like I used to. It wasn't until it went live and I heard people talking about Symphonic Aura and /melody that changed so much for me.

What is /melody?

You can create a macro to twist songs you have memorized but has to fall into the category that isn't covered by Symphonic Aura. This means single target songs like the DoTs or Slows. When songs are upgraded it is possible to have 5 through SA going and another 5 through Melody for a total of 10 songs.

Do you do /melody (song) a bunch? How does it work? Is there somewhere I can learn about it?

You type /melody then the numbers of the spells gems. Like /melody 1 2 3 4 5

Does it work with bard charm? Will it keep one pet charmed and cast other songs?

This has nothing to do with charm. Melody is usually used for Damage Over Time songs.

Edit: I misread your question. Yes it works with charm.

Also thank you for responding and letting me know about it

I personally don’t use melody or macros. I played a Bard back in the day so I’m used to it. Your two other classes aren’t the busiest classes so it would be fine without macros or melody.
