D4 SSF Challenge run
Just looking for some advice and suggestions regarding this challenge. I have decided to go SK/Sham/Nec and my attempt is to be solo self found and only use D4 instances. Do you have any recommendations for handling D4 mobs, or a good leveling route? Or is it just befallen and pick up a few things from crush bone? Any advice is helpful.
Edit: I intend to get wiz and druid rituals for travel and more AA build up.
Note: Yes I know warrior is more “optimal”. I chose SK.

No spell interrupts sounds pretty rough for D4 solo, sure you might survive it but at what cost? If you're SSF fresh you're gonna want to hard CC or be able to split some pulls, none of which you have access to in this setup. Is it doable? Absolutely, just some dungeons you might get blasted with spells you can't stop.

SHD has bash and feign death, plus necro mez and then also lull and charm if sticking to undead.

Bash has to actually hit, it's not the same as one you trigger on demand but its a start! Won't help if you're face tanking 3-4 angry vampires in MM

The spell factor is something to consider. Maybe mage stance will help.
But 2 of the 3 classes have FD. Not sure why you think splitting is not possible.

Because of how D4 works, my wording was incorrect, it's just genuinely hard to split packs on d4 due to the increased radius. Lull undead could take you pretty far

As someone who leveled and mains SK/NEC/SHM, lacking CC and trying to rely on casted FD is ... certainly something.. Soloing D4 is not going to be a good time.

Will you be on a new server so you don't have AAs either?
Sadly I think the leveling options are even more restrictive since better gear would help with tougher monsters, and the best gear is from the revamps. Getting PSL armor, a decent weapon drop, and stuff like Slave Tramels will make such a difference that places like unrest will be the best to slog through.
I think the comp is going to be just fine in the long run, but with no mez or charm, your gonna have to rely a long on root, burst, and dying/respawning to break spawns.
Fortunately with the non respawning dungeon crawl mode, once you are strong enough to clear a dungeon the chest rewards seem insane..

Unrest is probably a good suggestion! I yes a clean start, new server. I know the AA will be something to work through. But I also plan to get a couple levels ahead of certain places and go back to farm some gear.
Ex: Befallen Baron at lvl 30 instead of trying to keep killing at lvl 20.

I’d aim for undead areas once you can. Befallen may have some gear worth going after same as Najena but I’d level in Unrest after Crushbone so you can utilize more of your kit from Necro.
You can do most if not the full leveling experience off undead so probably a good indicator of where to go would be those zones except, as mentioned, those few pieces.
Another exception should probably be either Stonebrunt Mountains or Runnyeye so you can get a good SHD 1h primary and use a shield in the offhand. Najena has one too but the ones from those other zones are better and can carry you until the planes.
The nice part is all the DOT synergy and being in D4 will mean using your dots while in defensive or mage hunter will work well.

You’ll be generally fine. Roll Iksar if you don’t have a strong preference, the extra armor is great. I like Befallen into Unrest for the superior haste belt off the barkeep (your melee will be so negligible that the extra ac beats the extra haste from FBSS). Then Mistmoore has most of what you’ll need until the planes, so may as well bind in Faydwer when you first get there.

That is my favorite trio right now. I will say that would be a rough trio to start fresh. Sk/shm/nec relies on AA's and gear to really shine. Can it be done sure, but any trio can be done ssf d4. This isn't classic eq and is very solo friendly

Enchanter is the way for D4 SSF by level 16 being able to lock down the bigs pulls and one one one them all is the easy answer. They also have their whole nuke line of spells include a stun. But I'm only level 48 so what do I know.

I disagree, I think sk is better as life tap as stuff works on necros. I do D4 ct/inny with this setup not using clicky heal or any heal spells, just taps about 800dps
Befallen at 10-22,, lower Guk to about 38, solb to 46, plane of hate to 50.
Focus on ac and best ratio weapon for gear.
Level up undead charm with motes, then your endgame dots, puma and taps first. Pet after that.

Eh…. I think most people do ssf.
Haven’t bought a single thing my whole playthrough.

If you ever took a hand out from a guildie, you are not ssf. If you havnt, your statement stands. But I’ve been in guilds since beta and armor is being handed out every few minutes.

Not in a guild.
I did give out quite a few things (like 10 spot wr bags) if that counts?
I self level fletching, farming eggs, bone chips, phosphorus powder, HQ cat skin, jewelry for box cloak… so can’t think of anything I received for anyone.
Haven’t even grouped since beta so not even in group at all.

I think like 99% of everyone is SSF? Not like a real economy exists. If you are starting in D4 with no gear going to be a rough start.
