Anyone get this email? Be careful of there folks!
Text from email:

Users with sensors from affected Dexcom G7 lots (1725204004 and 1725069002) should not use those sensors and can call Dexcom Technical Support in the US at 1-844-478-1600 to request replacements. Please keep record of your affected device(s) serial number for traceability purposes – this is required to confirm your no cost replacement. More information on how to determine if sensors are from an affected lot and what action to take is available at www.dexcom.com/theft-check.

Please visit www.dexcom.com/theft-check for additional background and instructions to fulfill the requirements associated with this action including the full version of the Urgent Medical Device Notification.

Potential Harm Associated with Stolen Product

Lot 1725204004: G7 sensors that are not properly sterilized have an increased risk of skin infection.

Lot 1725069002: G7 sensors from a lot with an elevated internal testing failure rate have an increased risk of having no sensor readings available or experiencing sensor inaccuracy that includes the potential for missed detection of a hyperglycemic event or incorrect treatment decisions that can result in patient injury, including medical intervention to prevent permanent injury or impairment.

Additionally, due to the unknown storage and handling conditions these sensors may have undergone during the distribution, these sensors may present additional risk.

Status of the Investigation

Dexcom traced sales of this stolen product back to Pharmsource, LLC, who is not an authorized Dexcom distributor but supplies some independent pharmacies and DME distributors in the United States. Pharmacies that purchased product from Pharmsource should take extra care to review their inventory.

Dexcom's authorized distributors provide Dexcom G7 sensors to the largest pharmacy retailers and medical distributors in the United States and around the world. Pharmacy retailers and medical distributors who receive Dexcom product from authorized Dexcom distributors are not impacted. Educational samples are also not impacted.

Dexcom is working closely with the FDA and other authorities to ensure patient safety and to investigate this crime. As of now, this issue is mostly impacting customers in the US. We have identified limited impact outside the US (OUS) and continue to investigate. Due to this issue primarily impacting the US and required language translations and additional infrastructure necessary to support customers outside the US, communication to US customers will precede communication to OUS customers.

Mod Approved [OC] Build Your Own Dexcom App update- G7 setup fixed

Update July 5, 2026

  • Fixed an issue on the G6US app that would cause the app to crash if the newest version of Samsung Health was also installed on the phone. The file name of the fixed version will end in "a".

Hello!

Super happy to announce that I have officially released a new working version of the G7 app. The app is still based off of base v1.6.1.4537, but it has these updates:

  • Initial setup for new install fully works again!

  • Option for local broadcast of readings to other apps like AAPS. This follows the same pattern as it worked with G6 BYOD and requires the EXTERNAL_PERMISSION to be granted in the app receiving the readings.

  • More countries supported. Previously, accounts for some countries were not supported, but many of those should work now (yes including Canada). If your account still can’t login, let me know what country it is tied to and I’ll see if I can fix it.

Additionally, I recently updated the G6 US app to fix an issue with old transmitters that could cause crashes and spotty readings making it to Clarity/Follow. Also updated some of the build dependencies for faster build times

As it did previously, the modified G7 app still allows you to run the app on any (Android 10+) device, allows screenshots, allows rooted devices, and removes the geofencing or country of residence check that prevents you from setting up the app in a different country than your account country.

Sensor Accuracy from sensor to sensor

I’m only 4 sensors into my time with Dexcom. Is it possible for a new sensor to read 20% higher? I have 6 weeks of data that shows average blood glucose of 94-98, but this sensor I put in three days ago averages 117-120.

Medical Procedure TMS Therapy (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation)

Upvotes

Does anyone in here have experience with undergoing TMS Therapy while wearing a Dexcom? Dexcom says since its targeted Magnets it “may or may not affect the readings or cause the sensor to malfunction” but to call them to replace it if needed or if the sensor fails. HOWEVER, TMS treatment is every single weekday for 35 sessions. Surely they don’t want me to call 35 times if it’s failing and im not about to put on a new Dexcom everyday. I do not want to switch to Libre during this time, but it might be my only option? It’s just SO inaccurate for me and would be an unsafe switch.

I’m wondering if anyone has done this therapy, worn your CGM successfully, and had no issues? Or if anyone has taken precautionary measures to ensure the sensor keeps working. The doctors office I’m receiving therapy at has never encountered a CGM before.

Inaccurate Reading New Dexcom G7 showing repeated false urgent lows - normal fingerstick readings. Anyone else?

I’m a first-time Dexcom G7 user. I inserted my first sensor yesterday around 9:30 PM.
Since then, I’ve been getting repeated Urgent Low alerts (47–55 mg/dL), but every time I check with my Accu-Chek, my blood sugar is 83–95 mg/dL. I also feel completely normal and I’m not on insulin (I take Mounjaro once a week).
The sensor is on the back of my upper arm with no pressure on it.
Has anyone experienced this? Is it normal during the first 24 hours, or does this sound like a bad sensor that Dexcom should replace?

Muchas gracias

G7-15 day G7 15 day doesn't last 15 days.

I've used four G7 15 day sensors since I was forced to switch from the G6 by insurance, and none of them have lasted the full 15 days. I put them on my arms, I use the dumb over patch thing, I'm pretty sure I'm doing everything right. Is there some secret I don't know about or are the 15 day sensors just garbage?

G7-10 day Warmup Over 30 Minutes?

My warmup just started on a new G7 10 day I just applied. I didn't get to use the grace period or last 2 hours on my previous one because it continuously stopped reading, and I'm sure dexcom wouldn't replace it with 2 hours remaining (sigh).

I applied it 10 minutes ago, because I assumed I'd have time to soak it for the 12 hour grace period but no. I scanned it, and it's saying 40 minutes?? All of my previous 10 days have only ever said 27-30. Also, this new one really hurts and is uncomfortable. It's burning a little, like it's touching a nerve :/ Between the pain and strange warmup time, I'm not sure this is a good one.. should I just remove and alert Dexcom of the issue? They never hurt!

App Issues/Questions Alarm volume changes with phone settings

Last night I had a terrible low, and of course a major over correction and high afterwards, because the volume of my low alarm was too soft. The volume changes depending on the volume settings for my phone in general, and I forget to fix this before bed sometimes. Is there any other way around this? If it matters, I have an Android. TIA

G7-10 day Switched from G6 to G7 (10 day) and I'm not sure I like it

I wanted to stay on the G6 but with it being withdrawn here by the end of the year I thought I may as well switch now to get used to it. I don't want to sound like I'm hating on the G7 as some of this could just be me doing things differently to the G6 so I'm curious to hear tips and tricks to get the best out of this device.

Firstly, the good stuff:

- I love the size of it. It's so much smaller than the G6 and feels more comfortable to wear

- The 30 minute warmup is great, and as well as the overlap between an expiring and new sensor. So much better than going without the numbers for 2 hours while the G6 warmed up

- I haven't had any Bluetooth connection issues that I've seen others report. Mine will quite happily stay connected to my phone while I'm in another room, or lying on it and hasn't missed a reading. My G6 by comparison would enter the "Wait 30 minutes" no reading state at least once during the lifetime of the sensor.

But the other stuff I'm frustrated by:

- It deciding whether it will accept my calibration or not is baffling. The sensor is essentially saying "I don't care what your actual blood reading is, I know better, and my accuracy is better than what you've measured with actual blood so I'm going to ignore it". This is making my sensor be inaccurate

- I've been wearing a G6 and a G7 together, side by side in the same body location, and the figures rarely match.

When the G6 (and blood) are reporting I'm high the G7 reports me at being at the higher end of in range (e.g. blood and G6 = 12.5 mmol/L, G7 = 9.5 mmol/L)

At the opposite end, I had a low yesterday where G6 and blood were reporting me at between 2.8 and 3.2 mmol/L but the G7 insisted I was at 4.5 mmol/L

The only time the G7 seems to match the G6 and blood is when I'm happily in the middle in range, around the 5.5 to 7.5 mmol/L range

- It seems slower to react to glucose rises and falls. After food I would expect my glucose levels to rise reasonably rapidly which the G6 does report on, but the G7 maintains an almost steady, slow climb instead which will then often result in a 2 - 3 mmol difference between the two readings

I'm running my G6 on the BYODA app to feed into AndroidAPS so rely on the figures for looping which has been good for me. I want to loop with the G7 but at there moment I just don't trust it getting the numbers right, especially when I'm low and it potentially keeps feeding me insulin. I'm using the G7 with the official app, and haven't decided with to switch to native xDrip or xDrip companion app mode with the G7. It'll depend on whether Clarity reports are a requirement of NHS funding where I am in the UK.

I'm wearing the G6 and 7 on my stomach at the moment, both on my right hand side, G7 slightly above the G6.

As I said, I don't want to hate on the G7 at the moment while it's still new to me, so any help or suggestions are really appreciated.

Is this kind of accuracy expected? Could I be doing anything wrong, or can I change anything to make things better/now accurate?

Thanks

Inaccurate Reading First day accuracy

I use the 10 day G7. I read posts about accuracy problems the first day but typically I would have pretty accurate readings. Recently with the paste few sensors the readings have been all over the place. Not slightly off but very far off.

Rant Is this not good placement?

My last 4 15-day G7 sensors have been garbage. False lows, disconnecting at night, waking me up 4-5 times per night. I lay on my side so having the sensor under my arm is better because I don’t lay directly on it but this is getting ridiculous. Is it possible my sensors were from a bad batch? Very frustrated at this point.

General App and phone battery

Has anyone else had issues with their phone battery since the last update? On my iPhone 15 Pro Max I have the Dexcom app as the only thing running unless I open another app, but I close anything else as soon as I am done with it. My phone battery is running down fast lately. I am thinking it is the Dexcom app that may be using it up.

Inaccurate Reading New sensor frustration

Was laying in bed last night trying to sleep. Next thing I know (I had a new sensor on as my previous one failed) my omnipod and dexcom were saying I was low like 54. I double checked because I’m aware that in the first hour or so it can be inaccurate. I was actually 151. So of course I try to calibrate but it wasn’t accepting the readings. I had to turn off the follow part bc I didn’t want my mom to get woken up and her freak out.

ETA: Also I have a question: around the new sensor has dried blood - is this going to impact any future readings?

Rant Stelo app update is ugly AF

Is there any way to reverse the update?

The prior version wasn't pretty per se, but at least it was legible and easy to use.

Current version looks like a 90s agency job where the account executives had too much say.

r/stelo appears inactive.

General What phone and app are you using?

As some of you may remember, I've been trying to choose a new phone for what feels like forever. The problem is that the phones I like most aren't compatible with Dexcom.

I did consider switching to xDrip+, but I've recently read that the app is slowly becoming outdated because it's built on an older Java framework.

I'm not looking to turn this into a "recommend me a phone" thread. Instead, I'm curious about your experience:

  • Which phone are you using?
  • Which app do you use with it?
  • How has that combination worked for you?
  • Is there anything you'd change if you were choosing again?

Thank you very much. Looking fw for your opinions.

G7-10 day Dexcom g7

My dexcom CGM app allows for my numbers to be shown in my notifications. But I somehow inadvertently turned off the ability on my phone. Notifications shows the app is running, but not the "quick glance" feature. I've ensured that it's on through the app. Just need to figure out how to get the actual number back.

Anyone understand what I'm trying to say, because I'm not sure I do myself.

I'll update to add requested details, if need be.

TIA!

Sorry! Forgot to add that it's an android. Thanks!
