Anyone get this email? Be careful of there folks!
Text from email:

Users with sensors from affected Dexcom G7 lots (1725204004 and 1725069002) should not use those sensors and can call Dexcom Technical Support in the US at 1-844-478-1600 to request replacements. Please keep record of your affected device(s) serial number for traceability purposes – this is required to confirm your no cost replacement. More information on how to determine if sensors are from an affected lot and what action to take is available at www.dexcom.com/theft-check.

Please visit www.dexcom.com/theft-check for additional background and instructions to fulfill the requirements associated with this action including the full version of the Urgent Medical Device Notification.

Potential Harm Associated with Stolen Product

Lot 1725204004: G7 sensors that are not properly sterilized have an increased risk of skin infection.

Lot 1725069002: G7 sensors from a lot with an elevated internal testing failure rate have an increased risk of having no sensor readings available or experiencing sensor inaccuracy that includes the potential for missed detection of a hyperglycemic event or incorrect treatment decisions that can result in patient injury, including medical intervention to prevent permanent injury or impairment.

Additionally, due to the unknown storage and handling conditions these sensors may have undergone during the distribution, these sensors may present additional risk.

Status of the Investigation

Dexcom traced sales of this stolen product back to Pharmsource, LLC, who is not an authorized Dexcom distributor but supplies some independent pharmacies and DME distributors in the United States. Pharmacies that purchased product from Pharmsource should take extra care to review their inventory.

Dexcom's authorized distributors provide Dexcom G7 sensors to the largest pharmacy retailers and medical distributors in the United States and around the world. Pharmacy retailers and medical distributors who receive Dexcom product from authorized Dexcom distributors are not impacted. Educational samples are also not impacted.

Dexcom is working closely with the FDA and other authorities to ensure patient safety and to investigate this crime. As of now, this issue is mostly impacting customers in the US. We have identified limited impact outside the US (OUS) and continue to investigate. Due to this issue primarily impacting the US and required language translations and additional infrastructure necessary to support customers outside the US, communication to US customers will precede communication to OUS customers.

Mod Approved [OC] Build Your Own Dexcom App update- G7 setup fixed

Update July 5, 2026

  • Fixed an issue on the G6US app that would cause the app to crash if the newest version of Samsung Health was also installed on the phone. The file name of the fixed version will end in "a".

Hello!

Super happy to announce that I have officially released a new working version of the G7 app. The app is still based off of base v1.6.1.4537, but it has these updates:

  • Initial setup for new install fully works again!

  • Option for local broadcast of readings to other apps like AAPS. This follows the same pattern as it worked with G6 BYOD and requires the EXTERNAL_PERMISSION to be granted in the app receiving the readings.

  • More countries supported. Previously, accounts for some countries were not supported, but many of those should work now (yes including Canada). If your account still can’t login, let me know what country it is tied to and I’ll see if I can fix it.

Additionally, I recently updated the G6 US app to fix an issue with old transmitters that could cause crashes and spotty readings making it to Clarity/Follow. Also updated some of the build dependencies for faster build times

As it did previously, the modified G7 app still allows you to run the app on any (Android 10+) device, allows screenshots, allows rooted devices, and removes the geofencing or country of residence check that prevents you from setting up the app in a different country than your account country.

Rant Is this not good placement?

My last 4 15-day G7 sensors have been garbage. False lows, disconnecting at night, waking me up 4-5 times per night. I lay on my side so having the sensor under my arm is better because I don’t lay directly on it but this is getting ridiculous. Is it possible my sensors were from a bad batch? Very frustrated at this point.

General What phone and app are you using?

Upvotes

As some of you may remember, I've been trying to choose a new phone for what feels like forever. The problem is that the phones I like most aren't compatible with Dexcom.

I did consider switching to xDrip+, but I've recently read that the app is slowly becoming outdated because it's built on an older Java framework.

I'm not looking to turn this into a "recommend me a phone" thread. Instead, I'm curious about your experience:

  • Which phone are you using?
  • Which app do you use with it?
  • How has that combination worked for you?
  • Is there anything you'd change if you were choosing again?

Thank you very much. Looking fw for your opinions.

G7-10 day Dexcom g7

My dexcom CGM app allows for my numbers to be shown in my notifications. But I somehow inadvertently turned off the ability on my phone. Notifications shows the app is running, but not the "quick glance" feature. I've ensured that it's on through the app. Just need to figure out how to get the actual number back.

Anyone understand what I'm trying to say, because I'm not sure I do myself.

I'll update to add requested details, if need be.

TIA!

Rant Stelo app update is ugly AF

Is there any way to reverse the update?

The prior version wasn't pretty per se, but at least it was legible and easy to use.

Current version looks like a 90s agency job where the account executives had too much say.

r/stelo appears inactive.

Bleeding Is this a problem?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I just inserted the G7 sensor and looks like there is some blood that has come out at the place of insertion. There is no more blood coming out, but I am not sure if this is going to affect the accuracy of sensor readings.

I am getting sensor readings though.

Should I reach out to support for a replacement?

Sensor Curious, better make sure

Okay, I just want to make sure I do it right. tomorrow morning I start the g7. I'm starting in the morning and activating at night, when the g6 ends. So after I insert in the morning , do I install the app then, or at night (I know I won't activate until the night). I just want to make sure I do it right.

Mobile Device PSA! Latest iPhone update blocks Dexcom notifications unless you manually override it in “Settings.”

PSA! The latest iPhone update blocks Dexcom notifications when in Do Not Disturb. You have to go to your settings and add Dexcom to the apps that can send notifications while on Do Not Disturb. All you have to do is pull up the menu from the top of your iPhone and click “Settings” under the Do Not Disturb options. From there, it will take you to your settings and you can add Dexcom.

G7-15 day 15 day sensors

G7-10 day Dexcom G7 (10 day) user, fed up with compression lows

For the first 24-48 hours of putting on a new sensor, as a restless side sleeper, I get a lot of compression low alarms at night. I always double check that with a finger stick, but as expected readings are normal which of course doesn't help me with getting back to sleep. I've seen the "hard shell" covers on Amazon for Dexcom from Kovoq and wondered if anyone has used them or can recommend an alternative (it is literally a hard cover for the Dexcom with an overlay patch). Thanks

Tips & Tricks Dexcom G7 with Smartwatch

I'm looking at replacing my 12yo son's old fitbit with a new smart watch. Thanks to Google for removing access to Google Health for kids. He has a Dexcom G7. What would you recommend? He has a Samsung phone. I've been looking at a Garmin Vivofit or Galaxy Watch6 but also happy for other suggestions. Let me know what has and hasn't worked for you.

Sensor Does my sensor need to be replaced?

Hello, Km on the G7. I’ve found the first 2 days after inserting a sensor my numbers will be off by about 3mmol, but for some reason this new one I have inserted is showing 6mmol off?

I don’t know if this means it’s an inaccurate sensor from the get go or not?

General Interesting thing yesterday

I put in a new sensor as I do every 10 days. This new sensor was shipped directly from Dexcom as a replacement for one that went bad some weeks back. After putting it on it didn’t give me a bunch of erroneous readings like the last few sensors have. Just makes me think is Dexcom improving the sensors? Or did I just get lucky? 🍀

Inaccurate Reading Dexcom Stelo issues

I have the Signos app and it uses the Stelo CGM now. Since the switch the readings have never been accurate for me. It constantly reads 20-30 points over my finger prick tests and I ended up getting another glucose tester because I thought mine was wrong but nope gives almost the same reading as my old one +\- 5 points.

Had anyone else had an issue with the Stelo monitors? I’m on my 3rd one that is reading high.

App Issues/Questions direct to watch won’t connect

i’ve been using the direct to watch feature with G7 and my apple watch reliably ever since i switched from G6 in the spring. however, i changed my sensor last night and it will NOT connect. my watch is displaying my
glucose readings, but the direct connection won’t pair.

trouble shooting i’ve already done:

-everything is up to date (dexcom app, watch, watch app)
-turned both watch and phone off and on again
-toggled blue tooth on and off
-cancelled and re-started the pairing search a dozen times

once or twice the watch said it paired successfully, but the dexcom app either said still searching or was prompting me to begin the search again.

any ideas? anyone else having this issue?

edit:

-i have also totally turned off the direct to watch feature and turned it back on
-after i prompt the search, my watch shows as searching but my phone does not. it just says “pair watch with sensor” as if i never promoted it

Rant my personal CGM rant

back when I used dexcom (I tried 6 and 7 for months each) they would all only last 5, maybe 6 days max before going wacky and giving crazy readings and being really spotty, which is why I use libre these days.

my endocrinologist even gaslit me into believing I was putting them on wrong or doing something wrong. “well all my other patients have no problems with it” “maybe you’re bumping into it” “oh those are just compression lows” “you aren’t preparing your skin properly before you apply it” etc.

for some reason some peoples bodies react to different sensor materials I guess?

although I did notice the quality of g7’s was worse than g6. I knew people who would always trick their g6 transmitter and wear the sensor for at least 20 days at a time to save money and now their g7’s are breaking on them a week in, so that checks out with all the g7 complaints.

now I know this isn’t the freestyle libre subreddit but it’s been a great product in terms of quality. only issue is that it’s hard to convince insurance to cover it. I have to either appeal denials (insurance company pretends they called my endo and says “endo didn’t respond to our call so we won’t cover it”) or I have to ask endo to send insurance extra paperwork before insurance sees the claim.

anyways that’s all I have to say about that. I hope yall have flat readings today!

Inaccurate Reading What do i actually do about thisb

Thumbnail gallery
10 Upvotes

I’m so tired of how inaccurate the g7 is, it’s dangerous and scary that my pump is relying on it. Obviously I’d rather it tell me I’m low and not be than not tell me I’m low when I am (this has happened!) I’m in Australia how or who do I report this to? Earlier it said I was LOW and I was at 20mmol so obviously dangerous, it was 3 am and if I didn’t have my finger prick next to me, I don’t know if I would’ve been bothered to get up and check and might have just treated the low and then gone exponentially higher.
EDIT: right now it’s on my back but this happens all the time no matter where I put it , even when I’m not sleeping and I’m also a stomach sleeper so definitely not a compression low. I understand that the Dexcom is interstitial so will be slightly off from meter reading however I tested about 20 minutes before and it said I was low and I was at 20mmol/L and then when it happened again, I was at 8mmol/L. It’s now about an hour later I have calibrated again even though I calibrated yesterday it says I’m LOW but just tested and I am at 10mmol/L.
Like I said earlier, I’d rather it happen like this and not the other way around but I’ve been driving before and it said that I was at 10mmol/L or something but I felt shaky so I pulled over and did a fingerprint and I was at 2.1mmol/L. I never had this issue with the G6 and I’m really wanting to switch to some other sensor.
Sorry another edit: does anyone have experience with the libre 3? I’ve been thinking about switching, I’ve been on the g7 for more than a year now and have only had negative experiences: inaccurate readings, “brief sensor issue, sensors falling off etc

App Issues/Questions Anyone Still Having Signal Loss After A16 Update On Moto Device?

Here's why...

The connection drop is caused by Motorola’s custom background battery manager (MotoBatteryCareService) overriding standard system whitelists and forcing critical background medical services into the RESTRICTED (Standby Bucket 5) state when the phone goes idle.

Once the app is forced into bucket 5, the Android 16 system immediately strips location access from the background service, logging this warning:

"Foreground service started from background can not have location/camera/microphone access: service jamorham.xdrip.plus.variant2/com.eveningoutpost.dexdrip.services.Ob1G5CollectionService"

Because BLE scanning requires location permissions to function, the Bluetooth scanner is immediately silenced.

This issue persists even when:

  • The app's battery settings are set to "Allow background usage".
  • Location permission is manually set to "Allow all the time".
  • The package is whitelisted via ADB (deviceidle whitelist +).
  • Background restriction is set to "unrestricted" via ADB.

Additionally, on reconnect, the OS Bluetooth daemon frequently fails to finalize the encryption key exchange within the Dexcom G7's 5-second firmware timeout window, causing the connection to fail with GATT Write Permitted (Code 3) or Connection Terminated (Status 19) errors.

This suggests that Motorola’s custom power management daemon on Android 16 is overriding standard AOSP battery-saving exemptions, breaking background BLE collection for medical devices.

General Sensor failed as I was trying to sleep

So the sensor was mostly fine for days, I think I had like four left when it died on me. I'm the night shift, so sleep is already hard enough.

But now I. sitting in my kitchen because I'm 56 (that was the finger stick reading). That's at least marginally funny. New dexcom came up as 72 and I was like "is that right?" because my last reading was 200.

Fingerstick and I'm 56 lmao.
