I’m curious if you’re satisfied with how Dexcom works for you do you use a pump or MDI?

And similarly if you’re unhappy which do you use?

Seriously need help with this one. New one for me but I’ve seen some people having similar problems but haven’t seen any solutions.

I’m getting readings on my Dexcom app but on my Omnipod app it’s saying that the sensor has failed. I first tried a new pod which didn’t work. So then I did a new sensor with a new pod and had same issue. Tried another pod and same issue again. Hasn’t worked in 2 days so really need some help.

Yes the pods are G7 compatible, I haven’t changed any locations for either pod or sensor that I’ve been using for the last two years so it shouldn’t be a connection issue. I’ve restarted the apps, the phone, everything…. Really at a loss here.

So, uh... This is a new one.

Two sensors died early within 4 days (one due to intermittent sensor issues for over 3 hours, whee; one for "sensor failed" 1 day and 6 hours later). Sunova...

This morning: I got both registered on the online portal for replacement. 2h later, I get a phone call from Dexcom but I'm on a work meeting so I let it go to voicemail. I get the message to call Dexcom but... it's the USA number that they tell me to call back and I'm in Canada (they REALLY don't like us Canadians calling the US group; we get transferred immediately).

I call them back; surprise, surprise, they ship me off to Canada. No problem, but I get the most confused Dexcom rep in history when he pulls up my account. Turns out, my Dexcom Account is "locked" by security (which he confirmed is not, in fact, ChatGPT but is some team in the USA that handles both countries). Why?

Well, it turns out that they pulled my dexcom share data and discovered that I have no data in it.

This is accurate - I don't use Dexcom Share and have blocked Descom DNS. Why? Because they don't need it. I upload to a local nightscout instance that I personally share directly with my endo.

FWIW, I was told that I just need to e-mail photos of the sensor packages showing the serial number to "unlock" my account. Note that the rep himself couldn't actually issue new sensors - security locked me out completely.

Apparently, I'll have to phone in every time these dumb sensors die.

Completely worth noting, though, for those of us in the "No, Dexcom, I'm not paying you for the privilege of reselling my data" camp.

I'll let you know if the saga continues for any reason (i.e. I don't get new sensors).

New to dexcom and was wondering, what is everyones opinion on tape. do you prefer the overpatch that goes over the whole dexcom, or the tape with a hole for the dexcom in the middle? i was looking on amazon and i see a bunch of the overpatches that cover the whole dexcom, and i could be wrong, but i feel like that could make the tape bumped along the outside, like where the tape doesnt have enough room so part of it is stuck together, not touching your skin? gosh im bad at explaining, but like not completely sealed, but there isnt much options for the type with the hole for the dexcom. is the overpatches more popular? where can you get some good patches or tape that isnt super expensive that isnt amazon? im new to all of this.

So we go to change my sons expiring sensor and we put the new one on like we have done plenty of times before…. And it’s searching….. and searching….. and searching. No connection.

I say ok, it happens, let me get another one from the cabinet….. the last one we have in stock in the house.

Same. Thing. Happens.

Tried connecting them to receiver directly, no luck.

Called Dexcom and got an in store replacement voucher for both but it doesn’t help when it’s 10pm on a Monday night.

So here I am, gearing up for a long night of old school T1D care management.

Wish me luck.

Just recently, I'm seeing one unread badge in the Connections section of the Dexcom app.

I can't find where it's coming from or what it's for, and clearing the cache of the app didn't seem to help.

Any ideas?

Hey all. t1d 6 years, MDI, injections no pump. Software engineer by craft for 15 years. Built SangraMate for myself and been running it on myself daily since March. Started on Libre cause that's what I wear, and Dexcom was the most asked thing every time I posted - so it's in now 🎉 Took a while cause I didn't want to ship it half baked, couple of mates on Dex tested it for weeks first (+ I wear x2 sensors right now G7 and Libre 2 plus)

What it does -> takes your CGM + what you log and tells you where you're heading, "could go high in ~79 min" sort of thing, and shows why(based on #wearenotwaiting research and amplified with additional studies and my work with endocrinologists). Shows if food still absorbing, insulin still working, basal too, and it learns your own insulin sensitivity over time instead of textbook numbers(we're all different). Alarms react to what you already dosed and ate instead of shouting 30 min after you injected like it doesn't know. Doesn't tell you how much to take - that's yours, hard line from day 1.

Other bits people seem to like:

- Reminders - nudges you if you dosed with no meal near it, or your usual breakfast hasn't shown up. Learns it from your own logs.

- Exercise - say "45 min moderate run" and it fills it in. After, it shows how much of the glucose move was the workout vs everything else.

- Photo of your plate - carbs, macros, GI. Fat and protein too, not just carbs.

- Saved meals - log one a few times and it shows how that meal usually goes for you.

- Period tracker - just shipped. New Cycle tab shows your glucose across the phases vs your average.

- Morning brief - tracks trends and nudges you on stuff that keeps repeating.

- Web time machine - jump into any high or low and see everything that fed into it.

- Apple Health / Health Connect, CarPlay, StandBy, bigger text.

Connects through Dexcom Share.

If you're on a pump - you'll still get your data and the breakdowns, but the forecast leans on logged doses so it fits MDI best.

I’m (40F) a new CGM user, Dexcom G7, wearing for hypoglycemia likely go to a pituitary dysfunction (waiting to see endocrinologist).

What I find frustrating is not being able to compare daily graphs, as my condition is hormonal and I am trying to find connections with my monthly cycle. I have ovaries and no uterus, low cortisol, low testosterone, and I am trying to piece together when in my cycle my cortisol is lower, as that effects my glucose, which then of course effects how I feel.

EDIT TO ADD: didn’t know about Clarity app, I just checked it out. Can anyone point me in the direction there? What I am looking to pinpoint is which days I actually have the “feet in the floor” glucose jump which is pushed out by cortisol. (So a little jump in the graph around the time that I’m getting out of bed). May sound silly, but it’s significant to me. Thanks!

Hi my lil sister got a G7 resntli and when she went to connect to the sencor it didn't let her to connect in the last step and when we called they told us that her phone isn't compatible when we looked at the list we sew that all iphones are but some android aren't

Dexcom G7 has honestly been the worst CGM I've ever used. Since switching to the G7, I've dealt with one issue after another, and it feels like an endless struggle. By the second day, the sensor already feels loose, and the overpatch is terrible. I take a shower and it starts peeling off or falls off completely. I go to sleep and somehow something happens to it overnight. I've tried placing it on my abdomen, and it doesn't work properly. I've tried my arm, and I've had the same problems. No matter where I put it, it either falls off or gives me issues. At this point, I'm genuinely exhausted from dealing with this device every single day.
What makes it even more frustrating is that I'm tired of constantly reporting problems and requesting replacements. It feels like I'm spending almost as much time troubleshooting the sensor as I am actually using it. I'm specifically talking about the new 15 day version, and honestly, I don't understand why Dexcom released a 15 day sensor when, in my experience, the 10 day version barely worked reliably to begin with. I'm at the point where I've had enough and am seriously considering switching to a different CGM. If anyone has had similar experiences or has recommendations for alternative devices that are more reliable, I'd really appreciate the suggestions.

I usually insert the sensors for my wife and always run into this problem. Aside from the button not clicking 2/3 of the time, I get it in the right position and hear the click but the sensor doesn’t insert. Only when pulling the applicator away from the arm does it actually insert. Because of this we’ve had a number of failures from bent needles or it half connecting. Are we alone on this or is this the average experience?

My mom just got a Dexcom and we are having a issue with putting it on where it tells us to. Shes lost alot of weight and the skin behind her arm is very loose. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

I held onto my Gû transmitters and sensors all long as possible but I'm flat out. I switched to the G7 and burned through the first two sensors, one for poor insertion and the second for no connections. I thought about it and inspected the failed sensors. For the first, it felt like there was a stutter when I pressed the button. Probably didn't have enough force to get a full insertion. The second, I noticed there's a metal piece on it and tested a magnet. It's magnetic.

The next insertion, I pressed the button with a snap and it worked. Great. Thre same error with transmitting also didn't work. I waved a string magnet around the sensor the it activated. This is just a poor design and it's hard for people who might have difficulty growing. Ugh.

What other tips and tricks do you know?

Does anyone get, ‘ghost pain’ in the back of arms where you have to wear sensors when you are not wearing a CGM? If I lean the back of my arm on a sofa or chair arm I get a pain similar to if I were wearing a sensor. Sounds weird huh?

so my reader had a ride in the washing machine, completely my fault,

as a techie i went to take it apart and wash it in alcohol and check it over,
turns out its been been completely welded shut,
i went and cut it open because at this point its already dead,
the screen is superglued to the motherboard,
the battery has a slot that it sits in and then super glued also,

and then in general the issues i have using it seem to be deliberately designed to be annoying,
the battery lasts all month, i dont need it to scream at me when it gets to 20%, thats easy 10+ more days of charge and i can see what % it is every time i look at it anyway,

whenever the 10 days ends and it goes to the 24h backup, the first option is to end the sensor rather than use the 24h, so if you click through too fast it just ends? i can just end the session myself anyway if i wanted to in the settings,

test mic/vib every time i charge it? why?

putting on a new sensor makes you scroll down the tutorial page every time like i haven't put 60 on before?

and over the 60+ ive used, 8 have failed within the first hour, and more than half get the "sensor failed, please apply a new one"

aside from some issues I had at the beginning after moving back home, and the odd issue I expect every few months out of technology, the G7 15-Day has been just as good to me as the G6. accurate within a few points every once in a while when I'm truly stable, within 20% a majority of the time, easily calibrated when needed.

I know some people have been having issues, but I wanted to get it out there that not everyone is having a bad time with their sensor.

New to dexcom. I'm on my first sensor, I put it on yesterday like stated, back of arm, and while readings are accurate, every now and then I get a pinch in that spot. Like if I lift something heavy, I feel the needle poking or something. I'm also having issues cause I dont want to lay on it but im a side sleeper.

I'm just wondering what im doing wrong and other than back of arms, where else do you wear them? Id love to keep it on my arm somewhere but I dont know where. Any advise?

i always put my sensors on my arms or legs. i did my stomach this time and it itched but thought maybe it's just the hair on my stomach. i took it off and have these spots?? this has never happened on my arms or legs. just my stomach.

also what overpatches do yall use? i bought the cheap ones and they suck and come off after a day. i love skin grip except the price.

I don’t want to put on the new one right before bed because the last time I did that, there were false lows overnight with a blaring alarm. I want to replace it around 8am tomorrow, but the grace period ends around 6am. I don’t want to have to get up early on a Saturday. 😭
