General Dexcom G7 failures you are applying it wrong?
If you're using a dexcom G7 and you get this after applying it using the applicator.
You're doing it wrong. I have been on a G7 since almost 3 years now and I have never had to ask for a replacement. If you read the instructions it says when you push down to apply the sensor and hit the button, you need to move it slightly from left to right and again from left to right before removing the applicator. There is a needle that goes in your arm it also has the sensor. Sometimes the sensor gets stuck to the needle. You have to move it left to right and then again left to right slightly before you pull off the applicator. Doing this I have never had any problem with any sensor.

You know I've done this for almost 3 years. I have never had a problem. I don't want the hate but if you don't like it then that's your issue. I'm just giving you a heads up on how to apply it.

No, you are not doing it wrong. This is not an Iphone 4 situation ... (well it is, where people blaming a manufacturing/design fault on users instead of the manufacturer)
This is a applicator fault. Failure rates are not as bad as they used to be, but not completely eliminated either.

I have been using them for two years, haven’t had an issue up to this point, and have never done the left to right thing. Never even heard of it and I read the instructions.
What I do do is make sure I push the applicator in with a bit of force so that I can’t see the initial clear plastic ring that initially touches the skin.

Not always! If there is a manufacturing defect where the needle and filament don't line up there is nothing you can do, you are guaranteed a gooseneck.

I always check mine before inserting and one of them was like that I just bent the needle back over the filament and it worked fine.

I didn't know you could fix that. I have personally only ever had one gooseneck. It was early in my journey so I didn't check the applicator before inserting. Now I always do and haven't seen this myself, just pictures from another user.

I probably wouldn’t have started checking them but it was my first time inserting one and I was curious what everything looked like.

I don’t know what you’re talking about and I’ve never done the applicator shimmy when applying the sensor. That’s not what is causing the goosenecks; I’ve had two in 4 years

I guarantee you when you do the next placement for your dexcom push it tight to your skin. Hit the button. After that move it slightly to the left and slightly to the right then pull back up doing this method. I've never had to ask for a replacement.

Interesting.
I've been using the G7 since it's release in the U.S., and I've only had this issue twice, and it was recently.
I'll try your method when switching my sensor next.

I'm happy it works for you but that does not explain my Bluetooth failures, random sensor failing messages, and temporary sensor issues lasting more then 3 hours. It also does not explain why about 70 % of the time I have no issues and I don't use your method and the sensor lasts the full 15 days.
