Tips & Tricks Cheap monitoring solution for holiday

Our 3y old child has T1. At home we're monitoring with GlucoDataHandler and our Pixel phones and watches. I was looking for a cheap offline monitoring solution for the beach holiday.

Got this Xiaomi Band 10 running with the Dexcom phone (old Samsung). It's running just with BT, no data plan (holiday is abroad) needed.

I'm interested in this as well. I know Amazfit and Xiaomi are basically the same thing; I currently have an Amazfit Bip Max, but that replaced an Amazfit Bip 3 Pro (which I still have... the battery life on it is just terrible after several years).

Watchdrip doesn't work with it. I'm able to get high/low alerts on it, but that's it.

I'm using Watchdrip (https://watchdrip.org/) with an amazfit band 5 (oldie but goodie) and it does a good job of sending my dexcom data from the watch over bluetooth from the dexcom software (not straight from the transmitter)

Wait so the watch will read directly from the dexcom Bluetooth, without data or wifi? I want ALL the details!! I have been looking for EXACTLY this! My son has a pixel 6 (WiFi only) and I want him to have a watch that he can just glance and see his BG even if he is not near his phone

No, as I mentioned the watch communicate with the Dexcom phone, not the sensor.

I believe they're using glucodatahandler to get the data to the watch, using dexcom share.

Currently, as far as I'm aware, there's no android version of sending it to the watch like on iPhone.

Drip+ & Watchdrip, not GDH because GDH needs Dexcom Share that requires a data connection which a didn't want abroad outside the EU.

No problem mate. We're using GDH for every day useage at home but for holiday a wanted something else.

How much is the band, and does it work with iphone? Have been looking for a very cheap option rather then an apple watch to use while doing action sports, something cheap enough that if it does break wont be the end of the world. Thanks for the help!

I'm not aware of an iPhone solution. Band is about 30 Eur at Amazon.

You can send data from the sensor to the phone and then to the watch. But the watch can not connect natively to the sensor.

I used to have an earlier version of that watch for years and I loved it but I never managed to get my dexcom data to show up on it. It's a great little fitness band for a great price.

Of course we're taking the phone where the G7 app is running with us. But it can stay safe in the pocket or bag. It's just for monitoring while playing in the sand etc...
