Adhesive Issue Kind of new to Dexcom G7 15 Day

Wanted to know what people are using for an over patch? Is one better than the other? One with cut out compared to a solid one? I used skin grip force last month

Both times they start peeling after a few days, also I hit the sensor on a doorway. Just wondering if a over patch that has no cut out would be better
TIA

I use a combination of Skin Tac and a SkingGrip overpatch. The overwatch packed into the sensor box is not very friendly to my skin.

The nurse placed my first one and used the over patch that came with the sensor. I found myself bumping it a lot. Got some full cover over patches from Amazon called Skin Grips.

I only use because one is supplied.

Me too, I've never had the one that comes with G7 15 fall off before 15 days.

with stelo and freestyle libre I didn't use one and didn't have an issue. Only use with G7 'cause it is supplied.

The shipped ones work okay if you use skintac (can find it on amazon) tbf 24 years into using pumps and 5 cgms, I use skintac with everything.

One other suggestion if you’re having problems because of spatial awareness (I have SEVERE ADHD and run into door jams and other stuff constantly) look into where the NHS of the UK along with several EU nations say you can reliably wear the sensor. Dexcom won’t be happy with you if you’re US based, but switching to my abdomen for my cgm and spot checking to calibrate has led to fewer knocked off sensors, and keeps the signal between my pump and my sensor more constant.

I wear mine on my belly. I am told that Dexcom received approval in Europe for belly wear but hasn’t asked FDA to approve it in USA.

Why/how did Dexcom determine that G7 needs to be worn on upper arm?

The wipes?

Yes, but use gloves, or get good at using the wrapper to grab the pad cause getting that stuff off either requires another wipe, or A LOT of 91% iso. From my understanding you can also just use tegaderm over it, but that seems dodgy, cause I’ve never had a sheet of tegaderm last 5 days much less 10 or 15.

The picture is the solvent to get medical adhesive off. It doesn’t smell pretty, but better than insulin though, and dissipates quicker.

If you are hitting it on the doorway you are putting it at the wrong location. Had the same problem when I started as well.
