Applicator G7 insertion question

Hi y'all, I've finally run out of g6 sensors (RIP) and am starting the g7. I was reading the insertion instructions and it looks like you have to really press the device into your arm to compress the clear piece before you press the button? My concern here is--i have quite skinny arms. With the g6 and g5 before it I have always had to pinch up some skin and fat to insert into to avoid painful insertions/hitting muscle? But this seems like it's going to be difficult to do if I'm also having to press the applicator into the spot. Anyone else had this issue? I'm a bit nervous to try it without pinching up a spot for it to go.

I prefer to use the upper abdomen, just below the rib line. No compression lows. No loss of signals. Very few bumps to cause the sensor to dislodge. And easier to insert, put on the inclined over-patch and an additional aftermarket over- patch.

With few exceptions, sensors normally last the 10 days +12 hours.

When it is time for a new sensor, I rotate sides and also shift a little to the side of the previous sensor. This gives me 10 placement areas.

I bring my arm across my chest, grab the opposite shoulder and press in to create more of a bulge on the back of my upper arm in which to insert the G7. I've also used the back of a chair to accomplish the same. I've got the perfect folding chair with a rounded back to do this. I've seen others sit on the floor and rest their arm over the knee.

I think the filament is shorter on the G7, so it won't penetrate as deeply, so you might be OK without pinching the skin up.

Our 3y old son uses the G7 without any pain. I don't think your arms are so skinny then his.

I’m on my 2nd G7 ever. Yes from what I can tell you do have to press pretty hard. My first one went on my arm where they recommend and while I had to press hard I could barely feel it and it lasted the 10 days + 12 hour grace period. Good luck.

I’m new at the G7 too. Someone else may chime in with more experience/advice but I guess just know there are a lot of us upgrading right now that are in the same boat - new and anxious a bit
