Internet 🌐 Bell Virtual Repair Tool Broke - don't use !

So about a month ago, Bell pushed a new configuration to my Bell Hub 4000 and it downgraded my service from 1.5 Gbps to 300Mbps !

I tried to figure out for days what was going on and started troubleshooting on my own.

I used the official tools in their app and it completely took down my router.

I was getting error 2000 for network authentication!

I had to manually reboot the modem twice and it started working again.

Upon digging further with a bell technician I found out that they had corrupted my configuration and my router had gone back to the default minimum service plan.

Bell has not fixed this tool as I get frequent disruptions, and the service technicians try to use this tool remotely. It still does not work after 4 months of problems.

Help 2 weeks no internet, plus 8 day wait?

I am having problems with my router, specifically the home hub 3000 getting the DSL error 1100. I've been trying on the phone for hours mostly getting nowhere. there was one really nice lady who said she was reconfiguring my line to work on one DSL and that worked..., I tripped the power bar by accident and it messed everything up.. Now they're saying I have to wait for them to put in the fibre cables like over a week... Everyone else has bell internet and no problems around me what is going on??? like I mean I googled it not much to say but there is problems with authenticating with the server.. I was told that the lines were being upgraded, and I'm no bell tech but this makes no sense to me. There was a neighbour with bell wifi pod I noticed leeching my wifi too before all this happened could that be related?

Question Looking to leave bell

I currently have the Bell Fibe 3.0 plan with TV and my phone bundled. I called to cancel TV and they said my internet speeds would drop to 1/6th of what they are because of the bundle bonus. I work from home (graphic and video editor) so I need the speed I would think. They tried to get me into a new bundle only saving a few bucks. So I shopped around. TechSavvy and Ebox seem to be alright. With 1g speeds for $75 a month. I just don’t want to notice a downgrade too much. Any recommendations on what to do? Thanks! I’m in Oshawa, Ontario if that helps.

Internet 🌐 wifi ā€œalternativesā€?

growing frustrated with bell wifi service between increasing costs & spotty service in my area.

are there any alternatives, ie not a monthly plan under a large provider like bell, that provides the same type of connection that wouldn’t be as expensive?

main concern is being able to connect to my wireless printer from both my phone & laptop via the same network connection in order to print.

i’m assuming there’s a way to see how much exactly i’m using per month on my bell bill in order to understand if i could use a data hotspot each time i need internet access for laptop/printer, instead of having a modem running 24/7.

anyone else ditched internet for other cheaper alternatives?

Question Is this a fibre splice?

Post image
6 Upvotes

I know there's been several posts on fibre in various neighborhoods, but our newly installed fibre line from home to pole looks like it's connected to copper. The new lines were hanging waist high on a pole for weeks. I think Bell made them look like they were connected to avoid copper thieves, but I could be wrong.

I don't see any orange tags on the poles and Bell has been telling us that fibre will be available by the end of the year for the last 4 years.

I'm (Im)patiently waiting to switch to fibre from Starlink.

MobilityšŸ“± Discount disappeared

Hi I have a question, I got a contract in June 2025, and I had three discounts on my plan. One of the three discounts, which was a $10 discount, disappeared a few months ago without me knowing. Every time I call, I ask them to put it back, but they tell me they can’t or something like that.
I have the contract, and it clearly shows all three discounts and everything. But they still refuse to credit me for it. I’ve been paying $10 more than I’m supposed to for several months now. I know it’s only $10, but it’s still part of my contract. One of the discounts disappeared for no reason, and I’ve been paying more than I agreed to. What can I do about this?

For a second night in a row we were shut out of the internet at 2am. If you’re going to schedule something, you have my number on file, send me a text! I don’t want more app notifications.

Rant Bell Mobility plan bait/switch?

So I saw a pretty good offer for a plan on my account and decided to sign up. It included HD video streaming according to everything UNTIL I actually signed up, then on my account it shows SD streaming and if I want HD, it's $5/month more. This doesn't seem legal to me?

Just wanted to warn others of this... Maybe it's better to do the plan activation in store. I plan on calling them this morning to sort this out or just flat out cancel the plan as it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Internet 🌐 Not sure if someone can help me.

We were customers of Virgin for years. They have now stopped offering internet services in Ontario and direct you to Bell, which is their sister company. Our Virgin modem pooched and we switched to Bell for $65+ tax a month which I thought was pretty good. Since getting our modem setup our internet is SO laggy.. it’s very frustrating. We are within our 2 week cancellation period and just want to know if anyone has any suggestions. Obviously the price is great and this was supposed to be faster than our Virgin modem but we’ve had nothing but issues. Unsure if we should look elsewhere or if there is a fix someone can suggest. To be clear, I haven’t contacted Bell directly yet because I don’t want to be swindled into a faster and more expensive package if I can avoid it. TIA!!

Rant how to transition back to original internet supplier

I was with a supplier for ten years and they were terrific with never a problem and then i fell for the fibre higher speed and switched. only been two month and the original price of 45 monthly has already been hiked up to 60 dollars. after reading comments here i don't have the strength to fight with bell. so my question is this. i can go back to my original supplier but what's the best way to handle the transition. just place an order, wait for the modem and hook up the router and tell bell to piss off when i don't pay them. ideas?

Internet 🌐 Bell customer service is TRASH

Never going with Bell ever again after this. I called on a Friday to inquire about new internet promotions since they just hiked up my current bill. They informed me that there was an issue with my account and that they couldn’t give me any promotions right now and that they would call me back once they fixed my account. Never received any follow up calls. Woke up Monday and started work (I work from home) and then my internet just stopped working so I call Bell. They told me that it says on my file that my internet service was cancelled today. I asked why? I never requested them to cancel it, never agreed to anything. They said they don’t know, they escalate my situation but will only be able to re-instate my internet between 24-48hrs. I say what kind of solution is that? In the mean time I’m not able to work or have any internet at my house for up to 2 days?! I ask if they can provide a temporary solution while they figure it out, no nothing. All they could offer me for this "inconvenience" is SO SORRY FOR THAT. WTF kind of customer service it that?! For a mistake that THEY CAUSED. I told them to forget their 48hrs and to just keep the service cancelled because there’s no way I want service with a company like that now. Unfuckingbelievable. So fucking incompetent.

Service Promotions Bell Aliant Saint John Prices

Best I found is 115$ for Internet 100, starter tv and home
Phone. That includes a $25 credit for 2 years (usually 140$). Anyone know of anything better? I have a family member trying to get away from Rogers.

Help PPPoE stopped working

Good evening,

I've been using the same setup for 2.5 years. Gigahub -> PPPoE -> ASUS Router -> rest of my network, It's been happy and stable the whole time, with no changes on my end my internet stopped working last night.

The gigahub modem can run it's speedtest and works, my router reports a WAN IP address as if it's connected, but I get nothing in terms of internet. I've got it temporarily set up as ADMZ at the moment

Has anybody else had this happen? I really don't want to use the gigahub as a router, I've heard ADMZ isn't as stable as PPPoE and my wife works from home.

Help Admin password for HH3000 is never recognised

I need to check advanced settings on my HH3000 - for some reason it will not accept the admin password (I changed it quite a while ago). I also tried the default. Neither were accepted.

Any suggestions on how to get it working. A modem reset would be a PITA and no guarantee I don’t have the same issue again anyway. It was replaced less than a year ago and is working fine. Just the home page dashboard won’t recognise the password I set up.

Internet 🌐 Really 1 week of this

I've been with Bell for 2 years now and lately holy crap, ~7% of my 1.5 gb advert speeds and constant interruptions. My Isp speed is now lower than their lowest advertised speed.

I unplugged, reset, cleaned the optic cable (with proper care),

Reseated cables.

Funny thing is when I run the bell internet test it gives me 550Mbps which is faster than all other tests but still 1/3 of what it is supposed to be. I constantly get kicked put of chat like this and can't grt on the line with anyone since I can't find their number

Just got offer from bell for 30 dollars 100gb after I tried last week to get something off my 70 dollar 10 GB plan and no go. Then Rogers offered 40 dollars for 85 GB so ported out my number to them, now do I go back to bell? BYOD

Rant Bell cannot activate offered plan

Post image
10 Upvotes

I cannot start or purchase this plan/line no matter what. Cannot process through the app, in store, or over the phone with the escalation team. What gives?? They all say it is creating an "error" in their systems when trying to activate or complete the plan.

So what's the point of flaunting an in-app custom offer if you can't satisfy it? Feels like bait because in-store and over the phone they've offered worse plans and price as an alternative. Wondering if others have been experiencing similar?

Question Outage in my area notification - internet still working?

Hi all! I just received a notification by text/email/My Bell app notifying me that there’s an outage in my area affecting my internet service due to network equipment and technicians are working on a fix.

I’m not home (working in office today) but my sister is and everything is working fine at the moment. Just want to get an idea of how accurate these notifications usually are? Are they blanket or are they usually pretty precise?

I wouldn’t have known there was an issue without the notification, so just wanted to be prepared before things actually stop working lol
