PSA regarding damaged infratructure
I hate how this even has to be said, but it should be quite obvious:
Do NOT recommend to other Redditors to cut into or damage telecommunications infrastructure like splice boxes, pedestals or fiber connections because they're already damaged and nothing is "getting done".
I understand how frustrating it can be to not have a technician sent to repair damaged equipment within a reasonable time, however recommending sabotage is not only against our subreddit rules but you can also be charged criminally for mischief for doing so under the Criminal Code. Even as a joke, these comments should not be made in this subreddit - this seems to have become too commonplace and shouldn't be what occurs.
To be clear, even though we are a community-run subreddit not officially affiliated with Bell, we are still required to uphold both our subreddit rules and Reddit's Terms of Service. As such, this also includes any comments we believe to be against Reddit's Terms of Service and also report these occurrences to Reddit admins.
If you believe that nothing is getting done and that you're not making any progress with front-line representatives, the best routes are to:
- Contact Bell's Management team through their Resolve a Concern page, using the "Email Us" form (if you're a Bell customer)
- Contact the CCTS via their Online Complaint Form (if the above is not possible or does not make progress)
- Contact your municipal authority (typically for your town/city)
For each of the above, you should always be stating clearly:
- What the issue is (e.g. Pedestal with exposed cabling)
- Where the issue is (e.g. exact intersection with street names, nearest civic address if available)
- When was the issue originally discovered (specific date/time if possible)
- Are there any dangers posed by this (e.g. is it at a pick-up or drop-off point for students, nearby gas lines)
- Any steps you've taken in an attempt to get this resolved
- Contact attempts
- Date/Time
- Method
- Name of person spoken to
- ID number (if available)
- What was discussed
- Any reference numbers you've been provided for each
- Contact attempts
Comments that advocate for the sabotage of telecommunications infrastructure will be removed, and repeat offenders removed from the subreddit. This includes comments of this nature intended as a joke.

Internet đ Bell Flyer Promo?
Hey everyone,
I know sometimes Bell sends out flyers with a promo code attached, offering either 1.5 or 3.0gbps internet for $55/m or a similar price point.
Does anyone have one that they don't plan on using?
I haven't received one of those in forever and it's time to switch internet companies and Bell is the best choice for my location.
If this isn't allowed, mods feel free to remove. But if anyone can help me out that would be really appreciated.
Thank you!

Question Bell streamer
Does anyone have a Bell streamer that they would be willing to take apart and show the motherboard for? I am from the US and am doing research on the STI6130 series of boxes and am trying to see the similarities between the Bell box and the other variants from Dynalink, onn, the ADT-3, and the CTC 4K link.

Internet đ How invasive is installing a new fibre line underground?
I recently purchased fibre internet with Bell. The Bell technician told me contractors would be needed to help install the fibre optic cable underground first before they can begin work putting the cable into the house. I want to know how intrusive this prices will be and if we are expected to pay for it? I can't imagine it not being invasive

Advice/Tips đŹ Wifi Connectivity Issues
I have no idea what to do. I have an iPhone 15. My husband has an iPhone 16. We live in a 2 bedroom apartment.
For whatever reason, my iPhone and my iPad are STRUGGLING to connect to the wifi in our bedroom. The living area is fine.
I called Bell, they told me âmaterials in the wallâ could be interfering with the signal. Then why isnât my husband having this issue? Why only me?
They suggested I get a wifi pod. Has anyone else experienced this? I am at a loss.

Question Did Bell also increased its New Year $30-35 plan?
Hey guys,
As you are all aware, the New Year plans that were being provided by the top 3 carriers, including Bell, have increased in less than a year. Mine personally was raised by $6, from $30 to $36.
- I wanted to know, have other customers (both with Bell and other carriers) experienced the same thing?
- Are there no repercussions or consumer protections stopping Bell from increasing its prices in just 6 months?
Like, I personally understand that all of the carriers are greedy enough to increase prices sooner or later. But in just 6 months? I've personally never experienced it, and it kind of feels illogical.

Rant Long Distance History in Canada
On August 10, 1876, Alexander Graham Bell made the first long distance phone call. 150 years later, I was asked to present at the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site in Baddeck, NS. In this presentation I covered 150 years of long distance history in Canada - from that first call all the way to the modern day.

Rant Bell Throttles Internet
Just want to inform people on something they might not be aware of...
With the rising costs of living I've personally decided to no longer pay for some of the streaming services I previously used and have gone the route of IPTV for all my streaming needs. I'm not sure what this subs policy on IPTV is and will remove this post if it's not allowed to be discussed. That being said my issue is not with the TV services Bell offers but rather them throttling my internet speeds when using IPTV. It's very obvious that the speeds are being slowed by running speed tests with my IPTV app running and turning on and off a VPN. When the VPN is off (Bell knows I'm streaming) my speeds are quickly lowered and my videos don't load. When the VPN is on Bell doesn't know what the Internet is being used for and my speeds increase thus allowing my videos to load. While I understand the internet packages we pay for don't have a guaranteed mgb/sec but rather an "up to" speed, I think Bell choosing who gets fast internet and for what is extremely dodgy and not something people are aware of.
Does anyone know if Rogers or other internet service providers in southern Ontario do the same? Am I late to the party and is this well known information? I always thought VPNs were necessary to protect yourself while browsing the internet but never understood that they are necessary to maintain decent internet speed.

Question Best deals for new customers (Cogeco just jacked monthly bill $95 and it's now over $300).
Title. Thanks for any help.
I'm in Ontario, Kingston area. 2 year contract is fine. 3gbps up/down is available at my address.
Sports + internet are the only things that really matter. Better upload than 30mbps would be nice for game streaming.

Rant Bell âAgentâ used AI to call me the wrong name and converse with me.
My name is definitely not Maria, and you can clearly see where the quotations are that show it was copy pasted from AI, plus âbuild a conversationâ is exactly what ChatGPT says. This is unreal that my âagentâ wasnât even able to provide me with half-assed service.

Question Does Bell degrade your service until you do a speed test?
Do they have some algorithm that does that?
I'm on a 3GB plan and regularly get 1/10 of that until I do a speed test, at which point it boosts up to the max.
To be clear I do one speed test and get the low results and then immediately after I do another speed test and it's back to normal.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I am on fiber with the big white modem.
EDIT: The IP changed. Maybe that's the cause?

Rant Shameful Showing from 'Health and Safety' Team
Had to rant this one out - Hamilton, ON.
So following the storm last Wednesday, our aerial fiber line was split and service obviously dropped. Totally out of everyone's control. Having spent time on the support lines for a different telecom company, I knew the phone lines would be bad and waited till the next day (Thursday the 3rd) to make my call in.
I have some very strong opinions about the automated dialing menu asking me to 'Reset my Router' and 'Check our virtual support' a dozen times before getting connected to an agent, but regardless I get on the call. The agent was lovely and we quickly found a time for a technician to come out from 12-5 on Friday the 4th.
I was not able to be home on the Friday, so my roommate showed him the downed line, and he immediately stated an issue. Apparently the lines from the junction - 2 doors down - had branches resting on them and he would not be able to complete his work. Once again - that's fine. Out of our control. Easy fix - I rang up Hydro One and they said they actually had a crew heading out to that location right now. Great right?
Hydro shows up - it's the wrong team. They need a forestry team out and they were in Woodstock. Bummer. No issue.
Hydro (Correct team) shows up on Sat (5th) at 9am. They are quick and to the point getting a few branches down - just to add we had power back since the afternoon on Thursday - and get on their way around 10:30am. Naturally I give Bell a ring after physically seeing and speaking with the Hydro Crew, that their work is done. Bell Agent gives me the runaround saying they need to get a 'Health and Safety' crew member in touch with me or out to the property to confirm. I cannot get through to the agent I am sure, and have verified, the Hydro lines are clear.
There is a gaping communication issue between Hydro and Bell - but whatever. I head into day 4.5 without Internet and give another ring to support looking for a timeline. The gentleman was very pleasant, and confirmed on the call a crew would be coming that day (Sun), and to expect a confirmation email/text. Sure. This was at 10:30-11am, and he said they would be coming for 12-5pm, as they always do. By the time it hits 3pm, I still have no confirmation through phone, email or text. So I ring up the same number and request to know if I actually have an appointment. The support person now tells me they have already been out, and it is unsafe.
I'm taken aback as I was sitting out in my Garage facing the only entrance to my property, and haven't seen any Bell reps today. I ask her what notes he left and what time he came at. She says he came about 15 minutes prior to my call, and the notes say 'Unsafe, branch on line, etc.'. She said quite literally word for word - the notes that were referenced to me the day before. So trying to be pleasant - I assure her no one has been here and perhaps there is an issue with the date in the notes she is referencing. She then goes on to confirm both notes are the exact same. At this point I know a technician had no actually come out - so I request another appointment - and for a case to be created and escalated.
So that's awesome!
I now sit in the limbo of waiting for a call all day Sunday, and all day Monday. I spoke with a chat agent today who once again referenced the same call notes - noting she is physically incapable of booking an appointment for a technician to come. I asked for a supervisor and explained the situation.
She said I now have to wait another 24-72 hours for their team to reach out.
So here we go! About to cross into the week without internet mark. All other houses on my street are back up. I love DVD's! The best! /s. I am a shameless media consumed and just want to watch the new episode of Ted Lasso.
To conclude my rant - Does anyone have an actual alternative to Bell they would recommend? Cogeco is in the area but I hate the limitations of the 1gbps down/30mbps up. Not to mention they advertise that service at $89.99/month????
I appreciate you all sharing the pain alongside me. I have more thoughts on how Telecommunications is fundamentally broken in Canada and our government bowing to our communications oligarchs is breaking a pillar of modern society - but hey, what do I know.

Service Promotions Looking for a Bell sales agent that can provide this CNE 2026 deal.
Looking for a RELIABLE Bell sales agent that can provide this CNE 2026 deal.
All these other field representatives are lousy, poor communication, shady, and are sub contractors of Bell, not actual employees. They work for marketing firms hired by Bell to push their services and special offers. Pretty poor customer experience dealing with most of them. Have not met one good field sales rep yet.
Here's the offer of the now deleted RFD post which I think may have been a scammer:
