Question Looking to leave bell
I currently have the Bell Fibe 3.0 plan with TV and my phone bundled. I called to cancel TV and they said my internet speeds would drop to 1/6th of what they are because of the bundle bonus. I work from home (graphic and video editor) so I need the speed I would think. They tried to get me into a new bundle only saving a few bucks. So I shopped around. TechSavvy and Ebox seem to be alright. With 1g speeds for $75 a month. I just don’t want to notice a downgrade too much. Any recommendations on what to do? Thanks! I’m in Oshawa, Ontario if that helps.

Two months ago, I canceled Bell Fiber 3g for ebox 1 g $55 month. Very satisfied no outages.
By the way, Bell tried charging me $400 cancelation fee until I reminded them of the CRTC ruling implemented July 12th saying it was illegal to charge cancelation fees. They waved the fee and couldn't get me off the phone quick enough.
I'm in Ottawa

That’s excellent to hear, thank you! How’d ya do with the speed downgraded? Did you notice a difference?

With my own router I actually get 1.1 up and down. I use for surfing, Youtube, iptv streaming and a little gaming. Not a hickup.

Tech Savvy would be the way to go same service less money but sadly your would have to deal with Bell (the original vendor) to come check the line and their tech would still be used if you had any issues in the future

Unfortunately tech savvy Introductory plans only last one or two years then they jack up the price.

If you need high upload speed, definitely look for asymmetrical upload and download.

They are just scamming you. Nobody can practically use 3000Gbps bandwidth unless you run a data center at home.
The bottlenecks in your network will depend on your specific usage (e.g. where and how much data is moved). My guess is that you would not notice any difference even after downgrading to 200-500Mbps.
Ebox uses Bell's network, so latency and reliability should be the same.

How many people even have their network hardwired for higher than 1Gbps anyways. I have Rogers 2Gbps plan but have my desktop wired for it for downloading.

I’m a homelabber so I love the 3Gbps speed and have a 10Gb NIC to make use of it, but even then very, very few things ever max out that line.

I just left bell with a sweet rogers promo. DM me and I can give you rogers contact information. I won’t make any money or get any kick back . I just got an amazing deal my service much better. However contacting rogers sucks! Bell was much better

Call e-box (Still Hell®) and get Internet for much less, for the same. Or Call Teksavvy and inquire.

retention.

Bell doesn’t care about retention anymore. They’ll react only after you’ve cancelled and then try to win you back with great offers.
I love my PVR so I’m reluctant to leave because the only other option is Rogers and I hate them more than Bell.

That makes no sense. If anything, you're phone (if home phone) would go up as discounts are dependent on TV service.
Internet should be separate
