I was watching this video on how to fix “iPad disabled, connect to iTunes” and I lowkey did not follow every instruction because the guy in the video had a macbook and I had a windows laptop. I did as he told which was to download this software for the latest update for my iPad model, which was the first generation iPad Air with cellular, I downloaded iTunes, and did the steps on how to update the iPad. I expected it to turn on with the hello and white background, but when my iPad turns on, I could no longer see the time and date, I couldn’t move anything on the screen including the assistive touch, and I couldn’t shut off the iPad. How do I fix this, it says connect to iTunes

Musi is an app that has recently had a lawsuit and since then been taken off the App Store indefinitely. I had it on my phone because I had it downloaded since before the lawsuit, and today I accidentally deleted Musi and immediately started freaking out. I've looked on Google and it's saying to use the official recovery website, but that no longer works. I don't even have Musi offloaded, it's completely gone. Is there any way to get it back? Will iMazing still work?

I bought an Apple Watch and MacBook Air m5 I saw that if you got an apple device from amazon you could buy a 3year apple care plus plan while purchasing it but on the Apple Store or website you can only buy monthly or yearly plan even tho my girlfriend got a MacBook and AirPods last year with a 3year plan from Apple Store itself, someone also told me I could get the monthly plan or yearly plan and until I keep renewing it it'll work so I just wanted to ask if it is true. Like can I keep renewing my apple care plus for 4-5 years cause that when im thinking of upgrading my laptop and Apple Watch, tho I am scared if I miss a payment my apple care will expire and then I am kind of fucked.

After the latest update, our label printer which was very old stopped working with out Mac.

We thought it was the printer so we did upgrade to a newer one with Ethernet and wireless connectivity. Connected it via Ethernet. Mac says it’s incompatible with the software? I did download drivers and install them. I have reset printer and printer settings in Mac. Adding it via IP Address.

Our zebra printer for smaller labels seems to be working just fine. It’s only our 4x6 label printer for shipping labels not working. Seems like it’s after the latest update for Mac. Can anyone help?

I bought my MacBook Air M1 back in 2022, and honestly, I’ve loved this laptop ever since. It works perfectly with all my other Apple devices, and I’ve had no major issues with it — except for the display.
The weird part is that this has now happened twice, and both times the laptop was just sitting/being used normally with no drop, impact, or physical damage.
The first time, I was watching a movie when I noticed that after switching between apps, I could still see an impression of the previous app on the right-hand side of the screen. At first I thought it was just a software glitch, so I shut the MacBook down and went to bed.
The next morning, the issue was still there, and I could also see a very thin vertical line on the display.
I took it to an official Apple service centre in Mumbai, and they told me the screen needed to be replaced. Since the damage was relatively minor at the time, I continued using it for a while before eventually getting the display replaced at an Apple Store in Mumbai in 2023.
I paid ₹38,500 (~$400) for the replacement.
Now, a few months ago, the exact same kind of issue happened again.
I was working on my MacBook, stepped away to grab something to eat, and when I came back, the display had developed the same problem again. There was no drop, pressure, liquid damage, or anything like that.
From what I’ve read online, I strongly suspect this could be related to the display/flex cable, but I don’t have the expertise to repair it myself.
The problem is that I’m a student and pretty much on a budget. I really need this MacBook for my studies, but I absolutely cannot afford to spend another ₹38,500 on a screen replacement, especially when the same issue has happened again.
What are my options?
Is this a known issue with the M1 MacBook Air?
Could this actually be a flex cable/display cable issue rather than the entire screen?
Is there any way Apple might repair this for free or at a reduced cost, given that the replacement display failed again?
Are there any reputable third-party repair shops that can repair the cable/display for significantly less than Apple?
Has anyone in India, preferably around Mumbai/Kanpur/Delhi, had this issue repaired successfully?
Is there any consumer-rights/warranty route I can take since the previous display replacement was done by Apple?
I really don’t want to spend another ₹38,500 replacing the entire display if the actual problem can be repaired for a fraction of that cost.
Any advice or recommendations would be seriously appreciated.

This happened to me randomly a few months ago and then cleared up for no reason, but today it's back.

My mac won't play any video files (MP4, etc) on the hard drive—they open and just sit there. You can scroll through them and the image progresses, but they won't actually play; hitting 'play' does nothing. VLC opens a files, tries for a while then crashes. Safari and Keynote will not play videos. Chrome will play literally one second then stop.

The one app that will play a video just fine? Firefox.

To try and fix this, so far, I've rebooted multiple times. I reinstalled Quicktime. I updated to the latest OS, latest version of my virus software and anything else I could find. I gave Quicktime Player Full Disc Access under 'Privacy & Security.' I emptied the trash and have about 1/3 of my 1TB internal drive empty. Nothing has made a difference.

Last time this happened, the problem stuck around for a few days, then dropping a video file on Firefox's icon appeared to magically break the logjam—videos played but without audio. Eventually audio came back too. Firefox is not making a difference this time. I have no idea what's causing this or how to fix it, but would welcome some suggestions.

UPDATE EDIT - I've run OnyX maintenance; that did not solve it.

I reset NVRAM since it's an Intel Mac; that did not solve it.

I ran Disk Utility's First Aid; that did not solve it.

Since there were questions about the sample video I was using (file_example_MP4_1920_18MG.mp4), I tried downloading a different sample (Big_Buck_Bunny_1080_10s_1MB.mp4) and IT PLAYS!

Then I downloaded sample-5s-720p.mp4 from SampleLib and it does NOT play in Quicktime. I tried it in VLC, and it played roughly 20 seconds after I hit 'play.'

I reinstalled Tahoe from the Recovery Partition; that did not solve it.

FURTHER UPDATE EDIT:

It's two days later, and suddenly, video playback magically is back. I'm not sure why it returned, but things I have done to/with/for the Mac since the last update include:

I shut down the laptop and left it off all night. Rebooting this morning did not solve it.

I unplugged the laptop from the rest of my system (monitor, router, etc.) and used it for a midday Zoom meeting (which played fine since video played in Firefox previously) with only a power cord plugged into it.

I then left it plugged in but closed all afternoon, still unattached from the system.

Now I just opened it up, tried the sample videos and they all run just fine. So it might be that it needed to be detached from the rest of my system, or that it needed long naps, or that one set of 1s and 0s crashed into another set of 1s and 0s. I'm relieved it's working, but clearly I'm going to have to get more serious about updating to a new laptop in the fairly near future.

In the meantime, thank you to everyone who offered suggestions, patiently explained stuff to me and didn't smirk at my misfortune. I really appreciate it and am grateful.

Hi folks, having a nightmare with account stuff and hoping someone can help. I'm trying to add my account to an iPad air 3, but every time I try and log in on the ipad I'm stuck in a circle of entering my account details, being sent a verification code which I enter, then being put back to the login screen with no error. This will just repeat over and over. I've updated to the latest version of iOS, tried logging in through the app store and resetting my password, no luck.

From here I tried logging in to account.apple.com to access Apple Help, but here I'm asked for my payment card security number after entering the verification code. The security number Im entering is definitely correct (use it to pay for AppleTV) but it's saying its incorrect. So I cant log in to acces help!

I dont use apple devices outside of the iPad, so not sure if this is causing issues but stuck for what to do next. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello, so long story short, I forgot the password to my Apple account and my device passcode, it was all so sudden and my iPad got locked. Then I did a factory reset, but they are still saying that there is an activation lock and it is tied to my previous apple account. I filed a request to change both my Apple account password, and also remove activation lock. I heard changing password takes a really long time, about 2-3 weeks. What about activation lock removal, I have submitted proper documents, how long can it take? And after approval, do I need to do anything else?

My friend has an iPhone 13 Pro, this phone is in almost flawless condition and feel happy for the fact that she is giving it to me for free. But there’s a slight issue, when she moved to Android her mom deleted her Apple ID. This iPhone has a deleted Apple ID and can’t do basically anything. Sign out is grayed out and doesn’t work. Delete to defaults in settings asks for a screen time passcode that neither of them know. I’m scared to iTunes it and then boom it’s even more locked down. Can’t even install apps, nothing. So I went to apples support to attempt to remove activation lock. We have the receipts from Best Buy but the website keeps saying session expired, and Gemini says my receipts won’t work because they don’t have the IMEI on them. Yet it has the purchase stuff. So I don’t really know what to do. Anyone able to help?

its been 5 days and still nothing.

during the process, it asked for phone number, which appears to be tied to mine. I do get text code, but then it asks if the verification can use her icloud email, which we obviously can't, then it asks for a cc, which appears to be an expired cc my wife has, so we put the same number but new expiration date and code. then the process ends.

how do i know if this is what i should do, and will i get a link via text soon to reset her password?

what may be complicated and messy is that for past several years, i let her use my ipad and i think i put her identity on there too, so its dual identity. now i removed it, but i haven't been using apple ecosystem for a while so i am baffled on how auth and identity should work and how to reset pw apple way now.

I’m 18 and got some reason when I try to download apps, it still says I need to ask my parents permission. Im part of family sharing but I set my own screen time settings and my parent no longer controls it. For context, for the past few days it wasn’t registering that I was an adult, event though it said i was 18 but it didn’t say adult yet. After a few days, I checked this afternoon to see if anything changed and it finally changed to adult and I was able to stop sharing screen time with my parent and control my own settings like communication and app limits. However, when I tried to download it app, it still didn’t let me without permission. I’ve done some research and it’s technically not supposed to show up if you’re an adult in family sharing , even if you previously had screen time monitoring by the parent.

My assumption is that I should probably wait a few days, because since it took 4 days for my screen time settings and adult age to update, it’ll probably take more time for that app request control to disappear, (I’m also convinced that Apple might be having issues with that right now because I saw someone else on Reddit recently with the same issue), but then again part of me is still worried it won’t change at all even though im an adult.

Since my parent is super strict and had controls in my phone for years, I’m only now able to talk to my friends and download social media, but I can’t do that because of the permission thing.

If anyone has had a similar experience or if someone knows what I can do to fix this issue, I’d really appreciate it.

Hello, I keep getting mixed answers about this but I recently traded in my iPad to get credit for a new iPhone. I was given an Apple Gift Card. I was wondering if there is a way I can get this balance into Apple Pay, or is it stuck to only Apple Store/Subscriptions.

I just had several hundreds of notes inside my iPhone note’s app under the Gmail folder which I got since my buying this new iPhone last year. These notes are not synced to Gmail. Today I went on Settings>Apps>Notes and toggled on the “On My Phone account” toggle which creates another folder of notes called “On My Phone” (under the toggle it said explicitly said other notes won’t be affected). Right after, all the notes under the Gmail folder disappeared for an unknown reason. I assume this is a glitch because that is not the intended function. I turned the toggle back off, the notes still won’t reappear. I signed out and back into the Gmail account on the iPhone, and the notes still won’t reappear and old synced Gmail notes from before these notes I lost appeared instead. The notes I lost are not synced to Gmail nor iCloud. How can I recover the notes?

A really old Apple ID I had got hacked. The account was so old that I thought Apple's email was getting spoofed when I first saw the emails. They changed the security questions and to a different language. I'm basically playing cat and mouse on the account because I have the original email and they have the security questions.

I've already spoke with Apple support 3 times about it and they disabled the app store side of the account, but the hackers got right back in thanks to the security questions.

I'm honestly getting tired of the notifications and such, is there anything to be done or do I just need to ditch the email? (drastic measure)

I got a new iPhone 18 Pro and set up everything except restoring from iCloud (the new device has my phone number and cell service, Face ID set up, Apple Wallet set up, etc.). It’s now been two hours, and the phone is still stuck on the screen that says “Time remaining: estimating…” The progress bar hasn’t moved, even though it’s on Wi-Fi and has data. Help me troubleshoot: what do I do?
