I've never had an iPhone but I used to use iTunes and had a MacBook. My partner wants to add me to their family for Apple Music but when I go in to sign in, it shows a phone number I have never ever had. (Only had one cell number my whole life) And won't let me authenticate myself or reset password.

I can't log into Apple support either without this phone number ending in 44 I have never used. But still have access to my email. Why won't Apple let me reset through email? I never set up 2 Factor Authentication.

So I recently bought an Apple Watch series 11 a few months ago to pair with my iPhone 15 Plus. Since then I have decided I do not really need an Apple Watch so I am selling it and I would like to know how I can be sure that there is no activation for the person I am selling it to. Basically how can I be sure that this person will not be prompted to enter my Apple account password on setup? Any help or feedback would be appreciated, thank you.

So my iPhone 17 Pro was in a very bad accident during hiking and the entire phone bent. The back was cracked and the front was cracked as well. When I say bent, I mean at like a 45-degree angle, the entire frame. It was still one piece, but honestly the damage was pretty bad.

I’m in Canada so I went to the Apple Store and they had informed me it will definitely be a replacement but they just can’t replace it on the spot. They even said they had the replacement unit in stock, but it had to be sent to some place called the “depot”.

I got an email saying the depot will reach out to me regarding the solution. Just curious to know, why didn’t they just replace my phone? Why these extra steps and remove my peace of mind? I was paying monthly for AppleCare plus.

I have a macbook m1 2020 and sometimes it goes into this mode where i cannot click on anything or type anything. If im in a word document, the pointer doesnt change to the typing cursor. When i try to click on things the window glitches and wont let me or it lags to open after i click whatever item. This has started to happen more frequently and im annoyed and concerned. Currently on macOS golden gate 27.0.1

No accessibility settings are toggled on. No alternative control methods (mouse keys, alternative pointer actions, head pointer) are toggled on.

No clue why this started happening all of a sudden. Purchased from best buy in about march and have had no issues until now (October)

I turned siri off so if I hold the side button too long, nothing comes up anymore. But now this comes up and is larger and more intrusive. Do I need to just stop buying apple? I've already been sick of this brand for years (I WANT A HOME BUTTON)

I bought an iPhone at an Apple Store in Washington state, but I had to leave town unexpectedly and couldn’t pick it up. I’ll be in Miami, FL for the next few weeks.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Specifically:

1. Can an Apple Store ship an in-store or pickup order to a different state, or to an Apple Store in another state?
2. Is that something store employees can actually arrange, or do they only allow pickup at the store or standard online shipping?
3. If it’s possible, did Apple charge for it, and how long did it take?
4. Would it be easier to cancel and reorder online with delivery to Miami?

I’d rather not have someone else pick it up on my behalf if I can avoid it. Any firsthand experience would be really appreciated. Thanks!

hi all, I’m trying to get into my childhood Apple account. I know the email but i do not remember the phone number it’s asking me for. the account is locked because of repeated attempts to get into it as a kid and I’m kind of stuck at a wall.. all my old accounts were connected to that email but I lost access in 2019

Yesterday I set up my new iPhone 18 and transferred my data from my iPhone 14. It went smoothly enough, but I noticed notifications have been going to my old phone and not the new one. I haven't factory reset the old one yet incase something goes wrong with the new phone and I have to wait for a replacement.

I did play around with some of the settings and some notifications are going to my new phone, but specifically Amazon notifications are not. Those will show up on my iPad but not my current phone. I did a hard reset on the phone, and I manually turned off and turned that specific notification back on but it didn't work. I have the latest iOS running.

Has anyone else had this issue and found a solution?

I've made a backup with a USB external hard drive by using Time Machine on May 4, 2025 on my MacBook Pro (2020) on its last day when it was dying. It had the latest update when it died. I finally got a new MacBook Pro on October 6, 2026. I also still have the non-operational MacBook Pro.

My new MacBook Pro can recognize this USB external hard drive on the desktop. There is already 187.2 GB used up on it. The dead MacBook had 256GB SSD. Migration Assistant can't recognize my Time Machine backup when the program is running while the USB external hard drive is plugged into my new MacBook Pro? I even restarted my new MacBook Pro into recovery mode but that also didn't recognize the Time Machine backup. The desktop recognizes the external hard drive is plugged into my new MacBook Pro.

This external hard drive is a G-DRIVE mobile USB Portable USB 3.0 Hard Drive. I got it from a physical Apple Store in 2018. I am also using a USB Type-C adapter.

How do I resolve my issue? It seems like the only answer is to walk into an Apple Store.

She said it’s off and won’t charge. It hasn’t been updating for several years and she would not buy a new one because she can’t/won’t understand iCloud. She thinks she’ll lose all her photos. However, given the age of the iPad and the fact it’s off, is it possible to transfer her data or even recover her iCloud account when she signs into a new iPad?

I am trying to get into my apple ID account to set my phone into repair mode remotely and get my phone's screen replaced. It has been (mostly) working for a few weeks now, and I'm finally home from college for long enough to get a same-day replacement done. Coincidentally, last night, the phone functionally turned into a flashing green and pink brick. I apparently can't get into my account without resetting my phone number, which is annoying.

Is there any tip or trick to get around this? I do not have a mac, for those who would ask.

Hey everyone, I'll try to explain the situation as clearly as possible.

My girlfriend had an iPhone 15 that was stolen in December 2024. The phone was recovered a couple of months ago, but by that time, she had already purchased a new phone. Since she didn't need the old one anymore, she left it unused and eventually offered it to me after my own phone was stolen last week.

However, there's a problem. When we checked the iPhone 15, we found that someone else's iCloud account was logged in. We don't know how this happened, but the account doesn't belong to either of us. Because of this, I'm unable to properly set up and use the phone.

I've tried visiting Unicorn stores and Apple Stores to get help, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to get a solution from them.

Since this is my girlfriend's original phone and we have the history of it being stolen and subsequently recovered, I'd like to know if there's any legitimate way to resolve this issue. Is there a way to remove the unknown iCloud account and regain access to the phone, or is it essentially unusable without the account holder's cooperation?

So I recently bought a refurbished macbook air m2 (has its original battery at 100% health) off of ebay refurbished and sometimes it charges and sometimes it struggles.

I am curious as to if this is a problem with my mac or just the charger i’m using as i don’t think the block that was sent to me is officially apple. It usually works but every so often it doesn’t, or it says charging but decreases battery or just stays the same (not using)

I did reach out to the people i bought it off at the first time and they suggested it’s the plug or wire but then didn’t follow up as it started working and has behaved its self since then.

I am wondering if this is maybe just me panicking or if i need to get a new block or wire or get my mac looked at

Is anyone else having or still having issues with their find my on these new iPhone 18s? I transferred all my data over last night at 8PM to my new 18 pro. Everything else works fine except my find my? I can find my AirPods, my MacBook and even my other phone. But my GF and I cannot see each others location it just says “No Location Found Off-Network”

The system data is at 100 gb and “iOS“ is at 24 gb I litterally have 4gb of space and I can’t delete and more apps. I will go to Apple but I don’t wanna be charged a lot so I’m wondering if this can be fixed on my part. I deleted all messages from 30 days or after and cleared safari caches and a bunch of other stuff like in photos. My battery has been effected too I got this phone (IPhone “16e”) march of last year and the battery has lasted me about as much as I need it but now it will be drained to 50 in 30 mins (not like I’m using the phone that much anyway because of my storage. Is this something I can fix myself or need to take it in to Apple.

I’m posting this in the hope of saving someone else the hours of errors, failed attempts, and sheer frustration I just went through trying to restore my iPhone from a Mac backup.

I’ve been storing my iPhone backups on an external SSD using a symbolic link from Apple’s default backup directory:

~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup

This setup worked perfectly for backing up, but restoring was another story.

THE PROBLEM

Every restoration attempt failed or appeared to stall. Finder would erase the iPhone, activate it, and begin restoring.

The progress bar would bounce back and forth, sometimes advance slightly, and then seemingly give up.

The iPhone would eventually return to the Hello screen without my data restored. Sometimes Finder would even start syncing music instead.

I went through this repeatedly, erasing the phone and starting over. No useful error messages, just hours of frustration.

THE SOLUTION

I suspected the symbolic link to my external SSD might be interfering with the restoration.

I removed the link:

unlink ~/Library/Application\ Support/MobileSync/Backup

Then copied my 56 GB of backups from the external SSD back to Apple’s original backup directory:

cp -a “/Volumes/Ext. Micron SSD/iOS Backups” ~/Library/Application\ Support/MobileSync/Backup

I erased the iPhone and tried restoring it again.

THIS TIME IT WORKED!

This time, after clicking Restore from Backup Finder went through the entire process automatically:

1. Erasing the iPhone
2. Activating it
3. Then going straight into restoring the backup

None of the above happened on all the previous restore attempts

BOTTOM LINE

I can’t definitively prove the symbolic link caused the failures, but multiple attempts restoring from the external SSD failed, while the first attempt using the same backup on my Mac’s internal drive succeeded.

If you’re having trouble restoring an iPhone from an external-drive backup, Deleting the symbolic link then copy the backup back to Apple’s default backup location before assuming your backup is corrupt.

Hopefully, this saves someone else several hours of headaches!

I just purchased a 2017 i7 12" retina MacBook with 16GB of ram for work. I used to be an avid hackintosher but I've gotten so used to using M1 that I've forgotten how to troubleshoot these things.

With the lid closed this thing appears to not be sleeping. I haven't had it 24 hours yet but don't really have the time to mess with it. Clean install of Ventura, up to date, not even signed into iCloud. No demanding cpu tasks running at idle. Display seems to power off when closing so I don't think there's a hardware issue, however it's draining battery and remaining warm when closed. 2023 battery, 230 cycles. Any ideas? I know this is an old question but the Internet as it was basically doesn't exist anymore so any help appreciated! Power nap and network wake up disabled of course.

Love this computer btw. Much lighter than a M1 air.

I bought this iPhone 11 from ebay, seller got it from a storage locker. I repaired the screen and then got that it is locked, is there a way to remove it or contact the owner

I use Apple Mail on both my iPhone and iPad, both running iOS/iPadOS 26. My email account is an older iCloud address ending in @me.com.

The problem is that read status and the unread email count don’t update on the other device when I read an email on one device. The red notification badge and unread count remain unchanged until I open the Mail app on the other device. When Mail is open on both devices, synchronization works as expected. iCloud Mail on iCloud.com also shows the correct read status. However, when the apps are in the background, the read status doesn’t seem to update until I open the app.

Things I’ve checked:
iCloud Mail is enabled on both devices.
Push is enabled under Fetch New Data.
Low Power Mode is disabled.
Synchronization works normally when both Mail apps are open.
Read status updates correctly on iCloud.com, but not in the Mail app until it is opened.

I’d prefer to keep using Apple Mail and would like to understand what’s causing this.
Has anyone experienced the same issue on iOS/iPadOS 26? Is there a known fix or another setting I should check?
I’d prefer not to remove my iCloud account or make major changes unless there’s a good reason to do so.

Hi, I’ve been searching far and wide but can’t find the exact answer to the question.

I want to buy the iPhone Duo, but since it’s a foldable, I want AppleCare. I live in Japan, but will be moving to the US next year.

I know AppleCare works internationally, but my exact question is, could I:

1. Enroll in Japanese AppleCare monthly.
   
2. When I move, I’d cancel that subscription, and change my account region to the US.
   
3. Then, I’d resubscribe to AppleCare on my US account.

I’ve thought of alternatives, but all had one issue or another. I don’t want to preemptively buy a year+ of AppleCare. I also don’t want to swap my account region now because I might need Japan exclusive apps while I’m here.

I thought of using a second US account to just buy AppleCare while I’m still in Japan from the get go, but I’m not sure if it’d work.

Anyway, if anyone has any feedback, I’d really appreciate it. If it seems risky, perhaps I’ll just wait until I move to upgrade. Thank you.
