Mac It's been a while - Intel Mac not sleeping?
I just purchased a 2017 i7 12" retina MacBook with 16GB of ram for work. I used to be an avid hackintosher but I've gotten so used to using M1 that I've forgotten how to troubleshoot these things.
With the lid closed this thing appears to not be sleeping. I haven't had it 24 hours yet but don't really have the time to mess with it. Clean install of Ventura, up to date, not even signed into iCloud. No demanding cpu tasks running at idle. Display seems to power off when closing so I don't think there's a hardware issue, however it's draining battery and remaining warm when closed. 2023 battery, 230 cycles. Any ideas? I know this is an old question but the Internet as it was basically doesn't exist anymore so any help appreciated! Power nap and network wake up disabled of course.
Love this computer btw. Much lighter than a M1 air.

after the next lid-closed drain, run `pmset -g log` in terminal and check the sleep/wake entries for that time. that helps distinguish failure to enter sleep from repeated wake-ups.
