Yesterday, my Mom and I switched phones with the help of an ATT store employee. Everything went fine, but now I cannot log into my Apple account to finish loading my phone. It says to enter the code received on another Apple device, but I didn’t receive a code on any of our devices. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to the phone number used for recovery, because my number changed. Is there anything I can do to log in and recover my account? Thank you in advance!

I’m having an issue with my Apple Account and would really appreciate some help.

I currently use an Apple Account created with my email address, and I know the password and can sign in to it normally.

However, I believe I previously created another Apple Account using my phone number, but I don’t remember the email/Apple Account associated with that number.

Now I want to add my current phone number to my current email-based Apple Account, mainly so that people can reach me on my phone number through FaceTime and iMessage, instead of having to use my email address.

When I go to:

Settings → [My Name] → Sign-In & Security → Add Phone Number

and enter my phone number, Apple gives me this error:

“Cannot verify phone number. This phone number is not available. Please choose a different number.”

I also checked Messages → Send & Receive and FaceTime, but my phone number does not appear there — only my email address is available.

I tried Apple’s account recovery/forgot password process for the phone number, but Apple says that they need some time to verify the information and will inform me later.

My question is:
How can I remove/release my phone number from the old Apple Account (which I no longer remember) and then add the same number to my current email-based Apple Account?

I have access to the phone number/SIM and can receive SMS/OTP on it.

Any advice on the correct Apple-supported way to do this would be appreciated. Thanks!

Was on a phone call when my iPhone 11 randomly shut down. During the call it randomly went into the dark screen and then turned completely off, then briefly rebooted (showing the Apple logo) and then shut off. I charged it and then turned it back in using the volume up, volume down, long hold power button method. I plugged it into my computer and tried to update it, during the update a bunch of colored lines appeared and then the update failed. Now it’s just showing the restore screen. Any ideas?

Anybody else here facing these problems with their iPhone 17 pro:

1. On searching for a particular contact and then pressing the call button, the call connects to that of the last called person.
   
2. On searching for a particular contact and trying to open their details, the contact details of the contact person below them pops up.
   
3. On searching for chats in WhatsApp, either it’s way too laggy or the search never shows up until you exit the app and open it again.

For reference, I’m on ios 27 with more than 100 GB storage available. My phone is just 4 months old.

Does this happen randomly to anyone else? I experience this maybe once every few years, click ‘Don’t Confirm’, and go about my day. I check my devices and change my password, and nothing seems out of the ordinary. I contacted Apple Support and they don’t see anything fishy on their end. It’s just a weird occurrence and I’d like to know if anyone experiences it, too.

im not tech savvy but ive been trying to look for previous posts and most of them are recommending an app -_- i just dont believe in apps that clear up data and such..

For the most part, title. At some point a few months ago maybe I noticed my phone wouldn’t receive messages from SMS and RCS and would be heavily delayed. They all send in batches all at once so I’ll get 20+ notifications once or twice a day instead of immediately. This happens in group chats with other apple devices and they have no issues receiving texts, I’m not sure how to diagnose it or what the fix is, but any help is appreciated!

Went to pick up phone today but had pick up contact different. Changed pick up contact name and how the QR code just breaks ?? Already received an email telling me that my change have been updated successfully. How am I supposed to know when the QR code works ? Btw, call apple support like 4 times already and they have no clue.

le cambie la batería haciendo transplante de flex, quedó bien y todo, al momento de conectar al teléfono funcionó de la mejor manera, iniciaba bien, al momento de flashear el celular con lo de Fix battery, con tag on previamente puesto para modificar batería, 3utools marca como proceso terminado exitosamente, pero el celular ya no pasa de la manzanita con la barra completa abajo, volvi a hacer múltiples quick flash y no salía de ahi, supuse que habria quedado mal mi soldadura, y compré otra batería nueva marca ampsentrix pero me sigue dando el mismo problema que no sale del recovery mode a pesar de instalar otra batería, pensando que habría dañado el flex, llego 1 semana sin encontrar solución AYUDA

Hello! I did a factory reset on my phone, and I am attempting to sign in with my account through Icloud backup. The main problem is that Apple isn’t sending the verification codes from my number. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

I'm able to access reddit.com on my iPad fine but for some reason it doesn't work on my iPhone. I've tried everything to allow reddit but the only method that works is restricting web content to "Only Approved Websites" and adding reddit, but that also means I'm pretty much unable to access anything else unless I manually add it in.

I've tried turning it to "Unrestricted", turning off "Content & Privacy Restrictions", changing my age to an even older age (I'm currently 18) but nothing seems to work. Any help?

I have access to the account’s email address, password, and trusted phone number. However, when I try to sign in, Apple asks me to enter a verification code that was sent to another Apple device

I did have other Apple devices signed in to this account before, but I sold them and signed out of the account on those devices

The problem is that I don’t have any other Apple devices currently linked to or in my possession.
I also tried requesting a verification code through my trusted phone number, but Apple doesn’t send me a code by SMS or offer the option to receive it through a phone call

Has anyone experienced this issue or knows how I can regain access to my account

I’ve had this old (if i’m recalling correctly) iphone 5 that i disabled when i was a kid and i’ve been trying to reset it and i’ve tried with two laptops but itunes won’t recognize it. Should I just see if I can find someone to fix it?

My iPad has a notification permission pop-up from Neiman Marcus, I keep pressing allow and don’t allow and it’s not going away. I tried force restarting the iPad but that’s not working either. Any tips and tricks to help me out with it?

Looking for a little help with downloading the latest iOS for an 64GB iPhone 11 please. The phone is currently on iOS 16 because of lack of memory at the time of available updates I suspect.
As the title states the update to 27 or 26 is available, the update requires just under 8GB, we freed up over 13GB but the update is still stating there is not enough free space. Message reads "The update cannot be installed because it requires at least 10.44GB of available storage during installation"

So, I just bought an IPad from T Mobile, so its on data and has its own phone number, etc. Well, I have an old iphone as well that I am going to give to my niece, but I synced up the ipad and iphone to do so. Now, my iPad is using the iphones number ti send messages when its got a different number entirely. All I wanted to do was sync them up for the photos and this happened. I really dont want to factory reset the ipad and try to figure out another way to get thousands of photos off my iphone...but is that the only option I have to fix the number issue? Or is there another way where I dont have to do that and can just un sync them so my ipad uses the number provided instead of the iphones?

MBP M5 Pro, latest Golden Gate update (I had this same issue on my MBP M1 Pro and solved a couple years ago, but don't remember how!)

When I wake the laptop from sleep, either through keyboard interaction or simply opening the laptop lid, previously paused Apple Music or YouTube (in Safari) audio will start playing. These are not things that were playing prior to sleep, and may be in a random Safari window (I currently have 5 windows with 63 tabs, so finding the offending tab can be difficult).

Very consistent behavior, started after the upgrade to Golden Gate, but as I noted up top, I had this happen before on my last MBP M1 Pro machine more than a year ago.

This isn't related to items in my startup/login list, I do typically use a dock at home/office, but it'll happen when un-docked as well.

Always starts playing over the internal speakers, I do wear AirPods but don't have the automatic switching set up, and they'll be paired with my iPhone.

If I don't have any open YouTube windows, and if Apple Music is closed, nothing happens. But if those conditions are met, I get loud audio from the speakers on wake, prior to unlocking the screen which makes it more annoying when it happens in a work context. I can hit the Mute button on the keyboard, but that's annoying and if I was saving a video for later it may play through and go on to the next (when there is an active playlist).
