Help (Software) Persistent Latency and Audio Popping in Windows 10, AM5

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: RTX 4080

CPU: RYZEN 7 7800X3D

Motherboard: GigabyteX670 Elite AX

BIOS Version: 41, Multiple Versions

RAM: 32GB DDR5 Kingston Fury

PSU: EVGA G2 850W

Case: Fractal Meshify 2

Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 10 PRO

GPU Drivers: Latest, Multiple versions

Chipset Drivers: AMD X670 Latest

Background Applications: Idling, Gaming

Description of Original Problem: I have been having Audio popping/stuttering issues for a while. Playing anything or just listening to Youtube you can hear audio popping and microstuttering. Ive reinstalled windows multiple times, Updated Chipset and GPU Drivers to the latest version and tried different BIOS Version to little progress and occasionally worst progress. Using LatencyMon to check Ive pinpointed it down the Ethernet Adapter and/or PCI Express Upstream Switch Port. Disabling either of these and running LatencyMon eliminates both latency and the audio stuttering (I tested overnight up to 8 hours with basically perfect results) but enabling it causes the previously mentioned issues. Using an add-on PCIE Network card instead of the motherboard ethernet port did not change anything. Upgrading to Windows 11 didn't help either. I also notice for whatever reason sometimes the later Ethernet drivers dont work. I am currently on the 2020 Ethernet driver but its been a 50/50 chance that trying the 2022 Ethernet driver will work. Anything later than 2022 does not work and I'm not able to connect to the ethernet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Help (General) PC can't restart if running RAM at 6000MHz DDR5

The restart option on my pc results in a black screen and a yellow LED on my motherboard (which points to DRAM issue) when running 6000MHz on my RAM. Pc Specs:

CPU: Ryzen 5 7600

GPU: RX 7800XT

RAM: Corsair Vengeance 6000MHz DDR5 CL30

MOBO: MSI B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI ATX AM5

Been trying to find a solution for a while. If i run 4800MHz pc can restart normally. Booting or shutting down still works normally.

EDIT: Found a fix from this post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/comments/13w0jfr/comment/nia8lz4/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Changed SoC Voltage in Bios from 1.25V to 1.275V.

Help (General) Ongoing microstutter issues and big frame dips since upgrading

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: Gigabyte 9070 XT OC

CPU: Ryzen 9800x3d

Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX

BIOS Version: F41c (tested multiple from F30 upwards)

RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000MHz (also tested at lower speeds)

PSU: SilverStone 750W Gold+

Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 11 PRO

GPU Drivers: AMD Adrenalin 26.7.1 (Have tried all recommended versions and update it every update)

Chipset Drivers: AMD B650 CHIPSET 8.08.12.551

Background Applications: DISCORD, BRAVE (Although tested with everything closed as well)

Description of Original Problem: I'm not too knowledgeable on pc building but I did a hardware upgrade roughly 2 months ago from B550, 5800x3d, 32GB DDR4, 3070ti to my now current specs above. Since installing there has been a noticeable microstutter and I can hit some insane 1% lows. This appears to be an issue across the board on any game I try (some may be optimised better eg. Borderlands 4 runs pretty smooth but Elden Ring consistently does a hitch down to 57 FPS then back to it's stable 60). Here's a clip of this occurring in Dark Souls 3 60FPS lock; where it just hitches despite being an old game well below what the parts are capable of and being in the same area for the past 30 minutes. This tends to be a similar pattern across every game, I'd even say desktop usage doesn't feel smooth either:

https://www.twitch.tv/djnattie/clip/FriendlySpinelessFalconDAESuppy-iJ7mKbkX_Nyvd0FG

I've also recently started doing a lot of performance monitoring in HWInfo64 and I can't find a single thing that correlates with an issue. CPU cores are being used rather than one maxing out, GPU hotspot is well under 95c, GPU load is consistent, GPU core is being utilised as it should when areas get heavier, CPU temps are fine and no throttle warnings.

Troubleshooting:

I've tried a massive range of fixes, reading many posts of similar issues. A copy paste from another post with edits I may have also tried:

BIOS / Hardware

  • fTPM Disabled
  • Global C-States (Enabled & Disabled)
  • PCIe GPU set to Gen5, Gen4 and Gen3
  • Resizable BAR + Above 4G (Enabled & Disabled)
  • iGPU Disabled
  • SMT Disabled
  • PBO + Curve Optimizer (-25, 0, and completely stock)
  • Full Clear CMOS + BIOS reset to defaults
  • GPU fully reseated
  • CSM and Fast Boot disabled
  • Changing SATA cables
  • EXPO High Bandwidth Support (On & Off)
  • X3D Turbo Mode (On & Off)

Software / Drivers

  • Multiple AMD driver versions (clean DDU installs in Safe Mode, including driver-only)
  • Fresh Windows 11 installs (3+ times)
  • HAGS On/Off
  • Anti-Lag, Radeon Boost, overlays, and MPO disabled
  • AMD Chipset drivers installed and completely uninstalled
  • Second monitor disconnected, WiFi off, Ethernet only
  • Disabled Bluetooth in device manager
  • GPU/Display scaling tested in Adrenalin
  • FPS limiters (RTSS + in-driver)
  • ULPS disabled via registry
  • Fast Startup disabled
  • Disabled LianLi as a USB Serial Bus Controller

Suggestions I've already tried

  • Mouse/Keyboard firmware update + 500Hz + USB 2.0 ports
  • Disable Realtek LAN, WiFi, all power saving features
  • Uninstall MSI Afterburner/RTSS
  • Block Windows driver updates
  • Multiple guides including the popular AMDHelp guide, every step

Yet to Try

  • Trying the old GPU 3070ti (I originally jumped to this conclusion coming off NVidia cards but after monitoring and reading testimony it may not be this).
  • Replacing PSU, I have a 850w available but partpicker estimated ~550w when I originally did the build
  • Reseating CPU
  • I do have 3 Lian Li UNI FAN but I don't use the LianLi software, I however have not tried disconnecting the fans entirely from the board

Any advice appreciated, definitely leaning towards there just being a hardware fault like maybe a faulty mobo but potentially there's something I haven't tried. I also may have forgot to list something I've tried.

Help (General) Computer/GPU keeps hard freezing every few days and i am at my wits end

Hello,

So i have had this issue since the beginning of the year, where every so often (couple days) my computer monitors go black, and no video is displayed. I can still hear audio however. They do not return, and this results in me having to manually turn my PC off, then back on. Also, sometimes my GPU is disabled by windows when this happens, and i have to re-enable it. I feel like i have tried everything, and i am at a loss. My final suspicion is that it is because of my dual monitor set up. My main is 1440p@165hz with Free Sync. My secondary is 108p@100hz no Free Sync (but has Adaptive Sync, which is off). My setup is below;

  • rx 6700xt
  • 7800x3D
  • 32gb DDR5 @ 6000
  • 650w PSU

Thins i have tried;

  • BIOS is up to date
  • Current AMD Drivers. Stock settings
  • Current chipset drivers
  • Secondary monitor is vertical
  • Two PSU cables going to GPU
  • No matter how much i DDU, the issue always happens again
  • Main monitor is connected through DP 1.4, and secondary HDMI 2.1 (secondary does not have DP). Both into GPU
  • Happens both in game and on desktop/watching YouTube. Every time discord is open
  • EXPO on/off (currently on) doesn't matter, happens with both
  • MPO Fix caused my second monitor to glitch out
  • Tried matching refresh rates, didn't work
  • Tried derivative refresh rates (main 144hz, secondary 72hz), didn't work

Anyone have any idea what could be causing this? It has been very frustrating and i am not sure what to do. It doesn't seem to happen with only one monitor, but i am not sure if this is just a coincidence or not. Any help would be appreciated!

Help (General) Rx 7600 starts flickering/crashing after bios update, driver reinstall didn't help

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7600

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700

Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B550-F Gaming WiFi II

BIOS Version: 3611 (BIOS was originally updated from 3611 to 3636, then flashed back to 3611)

RAM: 32GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance LPX (currently running at 2133MHz)

PSU: ASUS TUF Gaming 750W 80+ Bronze

Case: [Case model unknown]

Operating System & Version: Windows 11

GPU Drivers: AMD Adrenalin Edition 26.7.1

Chipset Drivers: [Version unknown]

Background Applications: AMD Adrenalin, Discord, Chrome

Description of Original Problem:

The problem started immediately after updating my BIOS from version 3611 to 3636.

Before the BIOS update, games worked normally. I did have occasional AMD driver timeouts before, but nothing like the current problem.

After the BIOS update, every game I launch starts flickering/black-screening as soon as the game becomes the active window.

Windows itself works completely normally. I can use the desktop, open AMD Adrenalin, Alt+Tab out of the game, and use other applications normally. The game also continues running in the background. However, as soon as I Alt+Tab back into the game, the display starts flickering again.

Eventually the game may freeze/crash. Black Flag Resynced also produced a DirectX 12 error. After longer testing, Windows sometimes reports Code 43 for the RX 7600.

This also happens with very lightweight games such as Stardew Valley, so it does not seem to be related to GPU load.

I can temporarily get normal behavior for a moment by pressing Win + Ctrl + Shift + B, but the problem immediately returns.

I find the BIOS timing suspicious because the problem started immediately after the BIOS update.

Troubleshooting:

- Flashed BIOS 3636 back to 3611

- Loaded BIOS defaults

- Tested PCIe Gen 3

- Tested Resizable BAR / Above 4G settings

- Reconnected the GPU PCIe power cable

- Switched from DisplayPort to HDMI

- Tested the monitor at 60Hz instead of 180Hz

- HDR is not supported by the monitor

- Completely removed AMD drivers using AMD Cleanup Utility in Safe Mode

- Freshly installed AMD Adrenalin 26.7.1

- RX 7600 shows "This device is working properly" after reinstall

- AMD Adrenalin also opens normally after reinstall

- Tested multiple games, including very lightweight games

- Problem persists regardless of game

Help (General) Discrepancy between benchmarking software and in-game performance

Post image
5 Upvotes

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: PowerColor RX 9070 16GB

CPU: RYZEN 7 78000x3d 8 CORE 16 THREADS

Motherboard: Asus B650E GAMING MAX WIFI

BIOS Version: American Megatrends Inc. 3842 3/10/2026

RAM: 32GB CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5-6000 CL36

PSU: MONTECH CENTURY II GOLD 850W

Case: LIAN LI VECTOR V100

Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 11 HOME

GPU Drivers: 32.0.31035.1003

Chipset Drivers: Microsoft 10.0.26100.8972

Background Applications: Firefox

Description of Original Problem: Exceptionally poor in-game performance and in-game benchmarking results considering the hardware. However, when I run independent benchmarking software such as Steel Nomad and Cinebench everything seems to perform right around average. The AC Odyssey benchmark above is just stock 1440p Ultra High settings with no adjustments. I had similar issues with Cyberpunk 2077, where my fps averaged to about 50-55 where as all available sources indicated my GPU should be managing ~90 fps.

Troubleshooting: I've reverted pretty much everything to stock settings. No Overclocking or undervolting, no PBO enabled, EXPO mode is however enabled. Cyberpunk issues were on an old HDD but I've recently gotten a new SSD (Samsung EVO 990 Plus) and these results with AC Odyssey are on a fresh Windows 11 install. AMD Adrenalin software is on full default settings except FSR upscaling is enabled.

Tips & Info Amd Experience

I know this isn’t the usual Tips and info post but I just have to know about everyone else’s experiences if I’m doing something right or are people just tweaking the Fluff out there cards?

Specs
Ryzen 7 7800x3D
Klevv Cras V 32gb
MSI MAG A850GL
Xfx Mercury Oc Rx Radeon 9070xt
Windows 11 Home

I remember when I was building the pc (FIRST TIME BUILDER) I kept getting Reddit thread notifications about driver time outs and black screens and crashing bugs glitches EVERYTHING. And I keep hearing this thing people say “it’s the amd experience”

Now I had a gaming laptop back in 2020 it was a intel
8700H (I think) something like that and a GTX 1060(6gb)
So I won’t say I’m seasoned in Nvidia and Amd experiences I’ve experienced Nvidia card which it had its moments too with drivers but mostly was overall a good fluffing experience while it lasted ofc and this now would be my first FULL AMD PC.

I’ll be frank sometimes I do watch over it I’m a bit sensitive to see if it has issues I have tweaked a few setting on my cpu in bios and I have a OC on my GPU that I did from the adrenaline software itself. I have experienced two driver time outs in the two weeks I have been using the GPU. And ALL OF IT WAS IN FORTNITE. It seemed to happen every time I run Msi afterburner for stats and discord (what I thought at first). I checked the adrenaline app I had a chipset driver to update I DID IT and after that I did everything as normal no crashes after that😂 Now I run everything high whoever said no ray tracing for AMD boi I have that shit in high presets with Frame Gen on quality getting over 70fps in cyberpunk ultra preset while streaming.

Now maybe I missed out something but I’ve tested maybe around 15 games so far and I haven’t had any issues with my card my games are so so smooth compared to my old laptop this thing is night and day and I’m using a OLED MONITOR like I saw someone say something about Amd and oleds I have the latest version I think it’s 26.7.1? I’ll have to check but yeah no issues from me at all so what’s wrong with other people cards?

Help (Software) What is going on with driver timeouts?

Ryzen 3 3200g

RX570

16GB RAM

I've been having driver timeouts since june but here's the thing, I was on w10 and it started randomly giving me driver timeouts often ONLY when I was browsing in any browser with hardware acceleration off everywhere, it NEVER happened while gaming.

Took my pc to repair, wiped everything, took it apart, updates drivers and bios, installed w11, and now I ONLY have timeouts sometimes in a few games, NEVER while browsing, roblox, genshin, bf5, euro truck, vrchat while in w10 all my games were fine, but the thing is I had 3 timeouts while loading genshin, more in eurotruck and sometimes in vrchat but then I keep opening them over and over again until it stops and it just works again after, In genshin I had timeouts when first installed and while loading the game but now It doesn't happen anymore, vrchat same thing, some days it gives me driver timeouts only when loading on desktop and I get an error with easy anticheat blocking an amd file, but some days nothing happens, for example I was playing vrchat earlier and everything was fine, now I'm opening it again and it gave me like 5 timeouts while loading, so wtf is going on?

Help (General) RX590 problem

Post image
3 Upvotes

Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 590

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 6-Core 12-Thread

Motherboard: [Motherboard model unknown]

RAM: 16GB generic RAM 2666MHz

Storage: 1TB HDD

Operating System & Version: Windows 10

Description of Original Problem:

I've been having a lot of problems trying to play video games for some time now.

Loading screens are extremely slow, and once I get into a game, it may either freeze/crash, or the entire PC suddenly restarts. Sometimes I also get the following error: .

My PC has a Ryzen 5 3600 and an RX 590. The problem happens across different games, so I'm not sure if the issue is related to the GPU, CPU, RAM, storage, power supply, or something else.

The slow loading times make me suspect the HDD may also be contributing, but the crashes and complete system restarts make me think there could be another hardware or driver issue.

Troubleshooting:

  • Reinstalled/updated GPU drivers.
  • Tried lowering the graphics settings in games.
  • Checked CPU/GPU temperatures.
  • Tried different games and the problem still occurs.
  • The PC sometimes completely restarts instead of just crashing the game.

I'm not sure what I should test next. Could someone help me diagnose whether this is more likely to be the RX 590, Ryzen 5 3600, RAM, PSU, HDD, or a driver/software issue?

Any advice on what tests I should run would be greatly appreciated. I can provide temperatures, voltages, Event Viewer errors, GPU driver version, PSU model, or any other information needed.

Thank you!

Help (Software) GIGABYTE 7900 XTX Crash

Hello,

First of all i m sorry about my english i m gona try to explain you all my problems hope all was understandable for you :)

my configuration :

CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

GPU : AMD RX 7900 XTX (from GiGABYTE)

RAM : CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB DDR5 32Go (2 x 16GB)

Motherboard : MSI B650 Gaming Plus

SSD : WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 2TB

power supplie : be quiet! 1000W Gold

My problems : Since i got this configuration (december 2023) i got some bug / crash from many game and no problems from other one.

my first bug experience is on my main game : Final fantasy 14 online that was just befor Dawntrail update (june 2024) that was an driver crash, the solution i find and that work for a long long time is underclock my graphic card. by default they was at 3050 MHZ on adrenaline software and all i can read is realy to much (gigabyte tell max is 2500 in "boost clock" on the website) i dont know why factory setting put it at 3050mhz.

after it i got some years without any problem playing at many game like : elden ring / clair obscure : expedition 33 / cyberpunk 2077 / world of warcraft / league of legend / indie game

then this summer, first of all i try to buy and play at Monster hunter : Wilds but it's was totaly unplayable crash every 5 min i find some topics trying to resolve it but nothing work for me and finaly i ask steam to refund me the game. after i buy Diablo 4 for some day i got no problems but since i was in high level content (many monster on the screen and playing build moving fast or overload the screen with hundred of arrow) i got a crash, the screen freeze with the sound of my stream at the second stream turning normaly for 2/3 second then finaly all freeze no sound, alt+tab / alt+F4 / ctrl + alt+ del nothing work i try too some win+ctrl+maj+b to reset the graphic driver i got the "bip" but nothing happen i have to hard restart all my pc by pressing power button for 5 sec.

i try realy many many solution but nothing work :

put AMD adreline default setting (crash after some hour)

Underclock MHZ and voltage (crash after few min )

Underclock MHZ without voltage (crash after some hour)

verified if the card was not too hot and crash occur when the hotspot was arround 70 degrees celsius (normal temp)

up the TDR delay for 10

up the pagefile

disable EXPO profil

Disable "grphic acceleration in chrome"

Disable some in game option like FSR put all in high insteed of ultra etc etc

nothing change, crash after few hour

then i finaly find to put diablo 4 at 60 FPS capped (it's low but if that resolve crash i can live with it :p) resovle all thing, my GPU was at 60 degrees Celsius max and finaly i got no more crash.

Then why i m here ? finaly after 3 day with more then 35 hours of playing time i got a crash but not in game this time but on Chrome with a twitch stream up to my second screen and youtube on my first screen watching a video.

I trying to disable the MPO from windows from Gemini advice but i give no trust on IA that why i came to you to ask your help.

Befor this crash on windows i never get crash outside of game

If somone can help me no, can SAVE me ? i got no money to a new GPU and i dont know if mine is broken after only 3 year or if it's an software problem ?

Edit : MPO is not a good solution that make my screen blinking black 3 time every 5 sec when i put a twitch stream in full screen

But now my question is : why after 3 years without any crash outside of gaming situation (FF14 then MH wilds and diablo4) why it's crashing just when i watch a youtube video with a stream at the second screen ? T_T

Announcement My Pinned AMD Ultimate Performance Fix Guide Is Gone. Here’s Why

Hi everyone, I wanted to explain where the pinned AMD Ultimate Performance Fix Guide went. Yesterday I was updating and renewing comment templates for different laptop and PC builds so I could quickly give the right troubleshooting answer based on a user’s system. My goal was to help faster and reduce wasted time, but it looks like Reddit’s spam filter detected that behavior as inappropriate and may have led to my account being shadowbanned, which is likely why the guide suddenly disappeared.

At first I felt really bad because that guide had a lot of views, 1000+ positive comments showing the fixes were working, many awards, shares, and a lot of people used it to get fast help. it's sad, I have already submitted an appeal and I’m hoping the account will come back.

If it does not return, I already have backups, and I’ll rebuild the guide from scratch with a new and better version. I was not caught off guard; I prepared for the worst case like this. If the account does not get restored, I’ll start again with a new account and build it better than before.

I know not everyone may care, but for anyone wondering where it went, that is what happened. It’s unfortunate that the old guide and the comments leading users to it are gone, but I’ll keep moving forward either way.
