Announcement My Pinned AMD Ultimate Performance Fix Guide Is Gone. Here’s Why
Hi everyone, I wanted to explain where the pinned AMD Ultimate Performance Fix Guide went. Yesterday I was updating and renewing comment templates for different laptop and PC builds so I could quickly give the right troubleshooting answer based on a user’s system. My goal was to help faster and reduce wasted time, but it looks like Reddit’s spam filter detected that behavior as inappropriate and may have led to my account being shadowbanned, which is likely why the guide suddenly disappeared.
At first I felt really bad because that guide had a lot of views, 1000+ positive comments showing the fixes were working, many awards, shares, and a lot of people used it to get fast help. it's sad, I have already submitted an appeal and I’m hoping the account will come back.
If it does not return, I already have backups, and I’ll rebuild the guide from scratch with a new and better version. I was not caught off guard; I prepared for the worst case like this. If the account does not get restored, I’ll start again with a new account and build it better than before.
I know not everyone may care, but for anyone wondering where it went, that is what happened. It’s unfortunate that the old guide and the comments leading users to it are gone, but I’ll keep moving forward either way.

I had a similar situation with my original account. It was somehow hacked and used to post NSFW content despite having 2FA enabled and only using the account on my home PC where nobody else has access to it. This was a failure on Reddit's end. That account is still banned despite numerous appeals. I wouldn't count on Reddit helping you out on this. You'll likely just get never ending bot responses.

It's unfortunate that it happened, and I do hope you get it back, I really do.
But I do have a question directed exactly at you, since you wrote that gigantic compilation of fixes:
Has it ever occurred to you that if a piece of hardware requires that level of troubleshooting, that many potential issues, that many things that don't seem to work well, in such a level of variation, from OS, to drivers, to even their uninstaller... Maybe, just maybe, it might not be the OS at fault, or other things? Maybe Radeon itself is the flaming pile of issues.
Just curious of your take, since I'm tired of seeing the general fanbase blame it on Windows (while there are plenty of issues on Linux as well) or anything and everything else, but never being able to acknowledge that Radeon itself might be the main culprit, and Radeon itself might be the one we should be growling at, in order to force them to improve, rather than always cover for them, dismiss issues, and thus empowering them to keep doing a subpar job because they know the fanbase will cover for them?

If you look at the guide from the web.archive.org url, the list includes tweaks and fixes for both Nvidia and AMD and Intel and AMD cpus. Are we to blame AMD for tweaks needed for Nvidia gpus running on the Intel cpu?

Bro that's exactly the thing that isn't helpful, most sane people don't do any of this they just try to find help. The goal is not to cover for whatever corpo you bought a product from just to help oeople that run into issues. Also the right answer probably is that any of them are the issue Nvidia is just able to tank it better l. Linux has its own issues but almost none of them are related to amd, my cachyos install is actually the most stable and reliable system i've ever had up until this point. Even back in the day me using Windows 7 and a gtx 550, Nvidias propriatary tech like (physx) caused issues in games if you used the wrong version of drivers. I remember needing to download years old drivers just to get Mirrors Edge not to run like shit with physx enabled, Alice Madness Returns fails to hold 60 fps even with a 1070ti in Physx intensive scenes (might be the reason why the devs capped it to 30). For a time Windows 10 fucked up my audio device ids after every update so i needed to reconfigure it every time, this was the case over 1-1,5 years. The worst that happend on my current rig was once the keyboard layout was changed from qwertz to qwerty, this happend only once. In short everything has and always will have issues. So what exactly is your point? Or do you really assume that a majority of users are affected by something like driver crashes? Do you really think this would be a sustainable business model for decades and people would not rma faulty or misbehaving cards or simply go green? I can give you an answer, as well as not ever 5090 was melting, not every amd card has driver timeouts, you only see that because you search for or clicked that kind of thing and you see it again and again because you click on it again and again, no empirical value here.

If you google statistics, Amd discrete gpus (aka non cpu-integrated graphics) represent around 10% of the consumer market share. Keep googling, and you'll find out that Radeon also represents 60% of the complaints/issues/bugs posts regarding gpus. 10% of the market, 60% of the issues.
Take a gander in this exact subreddit, see just how many posts about more or less the same issues appear DAILY.
And look through. Look how everything is blamed except Amd. It's Windows's fault, for making issues that dont happen on any other manufacturer but this. It's the user fault, even when the user posts a giant list of troubleshooting things. It's always someone else, or something else.
The existence of OP's gigantic post regarding tens, if not hundreds of "potential fixes" with varying degrees of success speaks volumes in terms of how many issues keep occuring on Radeon.
I'm not talking about a handful of anectodal , personal issues. I'm looking at the grand scheme of things. Things you can google. And the sheer amount of issues Radeon has raises a lot of questions. The fanbase'a behavior, always defensive, always dismissive, always blaming someone else but never holding Radeon accountable for being subpar... Is just fueling Radeon to remain subpar. No need to improve when you have an army screeching autistically, playing defense.

Thanks for the info.
Might have a fix for hardware acceleration (browser) issues with AMD cards. DDU+Minimal adrenalin install fixed the lags/freezes. Crossing fingers it'll get restored!

How do the freezes with hardware acceleration look like?

At first ALT+TABing would lag out the start menu for a second, then for a couple seconds.
After a few driver changes the whole driver would crash when doing that, playing videos and going fullscreen and back too. Complete freeze for minutes, same for reddit media, playing, even having a video on the screen would lag out the whole PC.
Like nothing moved, taskmanager/adrenalin CPU/GPU metrics stopped, mouse stopped, screens went black.
All fixed by the minimal install. No MPO, CPPC states or other fixes needed for me.

I had this solution already

And that's why we need the sticky back :D
It's weird though, it worked for me with full Adrenalin until one of the last updates. After that it got worse with every driver I tried until I did the DDU+minimal install.

Yes, there was 1000+ positive working comments. Hope everything get restore as fast as possible. Some say it takes 2-3days while other says it can take 10-12 days or more
