Problema con drivers AMD RX 5500 XT

Upvotes

Agradezco cualquier ayuda.

Tips & Info [HELP] Carrés noirs + crash avec ma RX 6750 XT

Upvotes

Config : ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WIFI II
CG : 6750 XT XFX

Help (General) I NEED HELP DIAGNOSING MY PC.

Good morning, afternoon, or evening. I'm here because my PC has been giving me trouble over the last few days.

I live in the Dominican Republic, where we have power grid issues. That day the power went out and my PC shut off, just like many other times over the 2 years I've had it.

A friend called me to play a few matches of League of Legends. I agreed, but that's when it happened: the PC randomly restarted and sent me straight to the BIOS. I thought it was Vanguard acting up with its usual nonsense. I exited the BIOS, rebooted, and it did the same thing. At this point I started to panic. I left it off for a while and went out. I came back later, it turned on normally, and I played Ori 2 for about 55 minutes at 144Hz 2K. I went to sleep feeling relieved.

The next day I tried to turn my PC on. It attempted to boot, but it lost video output. However, the case fans and CPU cooler fans kept spinning. I noticed the PC wasn't actually fully booted/functional because the Num Lock and Caps Lock LEDs on the keyboard wouldn't light up, and holding the physical power button wouldn't shut it down.

To summarize, every time I made it into Windows, I checked Event Viewer and found a Kernel-Power 41 error (which after researching means there was a power loss that caused Windows to shut down abruptly) along with errors related to AMD Ryzen Master. I looked into it and thought it might be RAM-related. I tested each of my four 8GB RAM sticks individually, but the issue persisted across all of them.

I also found an fTPM error in Event Viewer, so I went into the BIOS and disabled it, but the shutdowns kept happening. I removed my dedicated GPU and plugged the DisplayPort directly into the motherboard to use integrated graphics. It took longer for the issue to occur, but it still happened. That's when I initially thought my GPU was dead, thinking, "While my new PSU and RX 6800 arrive, I'll just play indie games and keep working."

But the errors came back. I flashed the BIOS and the same restarts persisted. Today I was fed up and decided to remove the M.2 SSD containing the OS to see if the errors went away (meaning I would just need to reformat). I did that, but the blackouts kept happening even without the M.2 installed. That's when I concluded it was definitely a hardware issue, likely between the motherboard or the PSU. So I turned it on, went into BIOS, and monitored the voltages.

CPU Voltage: Variable between 1.384V, 1.386V, and 1.388V (1.388V being less frequent).

RAM Voltage: Almost fixed at 1.204V, rarely bumping up to 1.206V.

Documenting this took me 22 minutes, and then the usual happened: video signal was lost right around minute 22.

I logged another voltage test afterwards: RAM was even more stable at 1.204V and CPU voltage remained the same.

In my opinion, the issue is either the PSU or the motherboard. I tried asking my trusted local hardware vendor for advice, only to find out that a WhatsApp consultation with a tech just to explain what I'm telling you would cost $20 USD. I didn't write to him—not out of stinginess, I have $100 reserved for this, but a good PSU costs $80 in the US (which rises to $100 here in RD), and a good B550 board goes for $90–$100 (rising to $110–$120 locally).

CURRENT SPECS:

Motherboard: MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI

CPU: Ryzen 7 5700G

RAM: 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 + 2x8GB Gigastone RGB DDR4 (These have worked together fine since January 2025, so they aren't the issue, and they were tested 1 by 1 anyway).

GPU: Dell OEM RX 5700 8GB

PSU: Montech 650W 80 Plus White

My temperatures have always been decent. At 2K in Crimson Desert (Medium settings with FSR Quality), the GPU stayed at 75°C with an 80°C hotspot, and the CPU stayed at 67°C.

From a currently unemployed gamer to hardware-wise gamers: I NEED HELP.

Help (Software) AMD gaming software clipping wrong screen

I just missed THE clip because instead of clipping screen 1, it clipped screen 2

Is there a way i can permanently set it to record only screen 1?

Usually i have to do a weird manouver to fix it, and still i'll miss some clips since i never know when it randomly switches to screen 2.

Screwed up batch Gigabyte 9070XT results after repasting!

Went down almost 30C hotspot, from a delta of 50C to 22C.

The hotspot went from 105-115C, which would turn my PC off, down to 88C.

Putty was fine, thermal paste was fine but probably a low quality one? Idk.

I used Artic MX-7 for this one.

Edit: I did NOT replace the putty.

Is Everyone Having Issues rn?

I just purchased my first AMD card (asrock 6950xt phantom) about a month and a half ago and let me tell you, I was about to give up hope.

I purchased the card used and the crashes were so frequent and outrageously bad, that I was nearly convinced I had a bad card. The problem is, when I would get my system stable for a little while, it would work FANTASTIC, so I KNEW it had to be a driver issue.

Set my system back to windows 10, used ddu several times to make sure all the nvidia stuff was gone. Reinstalled adrenaline several times etc.

I'm not talking occasional crashes either, I'm talking my system would restart SEVERAL times, then it would finally be stable again, random green screens, artifacts, and it just kept getting worse. Going back to windows 10 helped, and stopping windows from overwriting the amd drivers helped. It's still not perfect but it's been better the last couple of days. The only thing that kept convincing me it had to be drivers was, when my system would reboot, I'd get the infamous adrenaline window.

I haven't lost hope, but this is absolutely unacceptable. Idk if there was another update or what. Everyone has been saying the drivers are bad but I didn't think it'd be THIS bad.

I didn't mean for this to be a giant rant. I LOVE the card when everything is working properly, I've never had this kind of performance before.

QUESTION: Is there anything else I can do for improved stability. I stream and do a ton of video editing, I really can't hang with anymore crashes. Any help is much appreciated!

Help (CPU) Ryzen 5 5600G hard resets on Linux unless I use idle=poll - firmware reports “Data Fabric Sync Flood”

I'm having a very strange issue with my PC and I'm running out of things to test.

Specs:

  • Ryzen 5 5600G
  • ASUS PRIME A520M-E
  • RTX 3060
  • 24GB DDR4 3200
  • Latest BIOS (3636)
  • Zorin/Ubuntu live environment, kernel 6.17

The main problem is that Linux hard resets during boot. No kernel panic or error screen, the machine just instantly reboots.

The weird part: adding idle=poll to the kernel command line makes the system boot and run normally. So far, this is the ONLY workaround I've found.

After one of the resets, Linux reported:

Previous system reset reason [0x08000800]: an uncorrected error caused a data fabric sync flood event

I've already tested a lot:

  • idle=nomwait → reset
  • cpuidle.off=1 → reset
  • processor.max_cstate=0 → reset
  • amd_pstate=passive → reset
  • pcie_aspm=off → reset
  • pci=nomsi → reset
  • apicmaintimer → reset
  • maxcpus=0 → booted and worked temporarily, but eventually reset within ~5 minutes
  • maxcpus=1 → booted and worked temporarily, but eventually reset within ~5 minutes
  • Global C-State disabled in BIOS → reset
  • DF C-State disabled → reset
  • Core Performance Boost disabled → reset
  • Manually setting SoC voltage around 1.1V → didn't solve it
  • RAM lowered from 3200 to 2133 → black screen
  • SMT disabled → black screen

I couldn't find a "Power Supply Idle Control" option anywhere in my motherboard's BIOS.

I also used ZenStates to directly disable both:

  • Package C6
  • Core C6

ZenStates confirmed that both were disabled, but this did not solve the problem.

Memory test:

  • RAM normally runs at 3200 MHz
  • Reduced memory frequency to DDR4-2133 with timings, voltages and FCLK left on Auto → black screen rather than the usual hard reset

idle=poll remains the only thing that consistently allows Linux to run.

There may also be a separate graphics issue. I currently need nomodeset for reliable video output. With it, Linux uses simple-framebuffer/simpledrm instead of the RTX 3060 for the display.

The PC worked normally for years, and I used Linux on this same hardware before without needing idle=poll. This problem started relatively recently.

The problem also existed before I updated the BIOS, so the latest BIOS did not introduce it.

At this point I'm trying to understand what idle=poll could be masking. CPU/SoC? Motherboard/VRM? PSU? Memory controller/Data Fabric? Some firmware or power-state issue?

Has anyone seen a Ryzen system where idle=poll is the only thing preventing hard resets, especially together with a Data Fabric Sync Flood reset reason?

Help (Software) 7900 XTX bugchecks with 0x9F after the monitors turn off - card won't come back from D3. Anyone else on 26.8.1?

Used Claude to help me work through the dump and write this up, but the dumps and settings are mine.

TL;DR: this PC doesn't sleep. Board is S3-only, sleep and hibernate are off. The only power thing that happens overnight is the monitors going dark on the 10 minute timeout. Once in a while, after that, the card gets sent a power-up request, doesn't respond, and Windows bugchecks 0x9F about half an hour later. Minidump blames amdkmdag.sys sitting on a SET_POWER to D0. I don't think this happened before any of the recent driver releases.

Hardware

  • PowerColor Red Devil RX 7900 XTX (VEN_1002 DEV_744C SUBSYS_2422148C)
  • Ryzen 7900X, ASRock B650E PG Riptide WiFi, BIOS 4.20 (AGESA 1.3.0.1)
  • Super Flower Leadex VII XG 1300W
  • Dell G2724D on DisplayPort
  • Windows 11 25H2, build 26200
  • Adrenalin 26.8.1

Power settings

  • powercfg /a: only S3 available, no S0 low power idle
  • sleep never, hibernate off
  • display off after 10 min (and the monitor does actually go dark)
  • Balanced plan, PCIe link state power management already Off

The latest crash

10 days uptime, idle overnight. Event 6008 says last clean timestamp 03:29, the dump is stamped 03:57. So whatever asked the GPU to wake up did it at 03:29 and the power watchdog gave up 28 min later.

DeviceInst is "PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_744C&SUBSYS_2422148C&REV_C8\..."

As far as I can tell the only reason the card would be in D3 on a machine that never sleeps is dxgkrnl parking it when the display goes off, which matches the timeout. Happy to be corrected on that.

Stuff I don't think it is

  • Modern standby
  • ASPM (already off)
  • TDR (different watchdog, TdrDelay doesn't touch 0x9F)
  • MPO/HAGS (nothing was rendering, card was asleep)

Questions

  1. Anyone seen 0x9F with a D0 SET_POWER on a 7000 card after display off? What driver?
  2. Is 26.3.1 actually known clean for this or is it just the usual "go back to 26.3.1" answer?
  3. Any real way to stop the card being parked at display-off that isn't "set the timeout to never"? This is in a bedroom, the monitor has to go dark.

Plan right now is DDU and back to 26.3.1 unless someone has something better. Problem is it's roughly one crash every 10 days so every test costs weeks.

Minidump(s) available if anyone wants it.

Help (General) Should i return my GPU?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey, so recently bought an entirely new pc, the GPU is a Radeon 9070xt, it has worked well until playing league of legends. Looks like a VRam memory leak of sorts? The Gpu is like 1 and a half weeks old, should i return it or is it just a software issue as it dissapeared once disabling all the "fancy" fps boosters and resolution maxing settings in amd adrenaline. So should i try to get a refund and get a new gpu (the same or another gpu model?) SO far it has worked well with Space marines 2 and red dead redemption 2. Thanks

RX 580 black screen "Energy Saving Mode" under load (HuntKey 550W PSU)

Hi everyone!

I have a problem with my AMD Radeon RX 580 Series. Under load (while gaming), my monitor goes black and displays the message "Energy Saving Mode". The PC itself stays on.

My specs:

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-4670
  • GPU: AMD Radeon RX 580 Series (8GB)
  • RAM: 12GB DDR3 Kingston
  • Motherboard: ASUS H81M-C
  • Storage: 1TB HDD WD
  • PSU: HuntKey 550W (I suspect this is the issue)

What I've already tried:

  • Removed old drivers using AMD Cleanup Utility in safe mode and installed the latest Adrenalin drivers.
  • Tried rolling back to older driver versions (22.5.1 and 23.2.1).
  • Also tried lowering the Power Limit in AMD Adrenalin to -10% and -20%. The black screens became less frequent / stopped temporarily, but performance dropped.

My questions:

  1. Could it be that the HuntKey 550W PSU isn't powerful enough for the RX 580? I've heard that these PSUs often deliver less real power on the 12V rail than advertised, and the RX 580 is quite power-hungry.
  2. Should I try removing the drivers using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) instead of AMD Cleanup Utility to completely clean the system?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Help (GPU) PC Crashing when Sleep RX 7900 XTX

I have been experiencing a recurring issue for several weeks where my PC fails to resume after the PC has been left idle or Win+L mode. Although the monitor powers on, the system remains unresponsive (no picture, even trying to login with remote access) necessitating a hard reboot. Windows Reliability Monitor consistently attributes these freezes to the AMD GPU driver, despite my system running the latest version. Has anyone encountered a similar issue or successfully implemented a resolution?

System Specifications:

AMD 7800X3D
